what's up with pinching extra $20 by not adjusting btc price.
Isn't it a globally traded asset with real time price indication?

It seems like they've always manually adjusted their price on the site. Maybe they're afraid of automatic adjustments and the affect of larger price swings.

sometimes  you win out on a drop.  I have done it once in a while.

watch the numbers changing real-time or almost real-time when item is not for sale as now.
it means that someone is actively interfering with this setup once item is for sale, can have no excuses that it is the web interface problem.

Now it is time to buy S9 batch 19,20 or to wait for new s10 or s11
because in s7 during this much batches the s9 was released so when to expect new miner ?
BMT has no reason to release another miner. They have absolutely zero competition on the 14/16 nm node.

but in one exhibition it was shown that 14nm then 10 nm then 7 nm

yeah I saw those photos.  but here is the deal  the `14 nm chips all over the world from BMT to Intel  have had issues .

Size matters the smaller you go the more voltage issues of leaking occur.

look for the 14nm design to stick around  2x to 3x longrt then the 28 nm size.

If BMT makes a new miner the s11  it may have an upgraded 14nm chip.

It may use more of the same chip  at lower volts.

It will not be for sale  until another company drops a new miner  that is close in quality to the s9.

the miner below is said to exsist

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16681727

10 th at 1000 watts  if this is sold at 899 - 999 usd it would be better then the s9.

If this goes on sale in under 1 month  and does not crash and burn.  It would push BMT

You mean 16nm here, 14nm bitcoin mining asic chips do not exist as far as anyone in the public knows.  But otherwise you are right about everything else you say here in my estimation.  Actually now that I think on it I vaguely recall someone suggesting they were going to skip 14 and work on a 10nm design (maybe bitfury?) but even if true it would be years away right now.  I think we have at least another year of 16nm as king and probably more like a minimum of 2 years.  But the competition could increase if a viable miner with bitfury chips drops (like lighteningasic) or canaan releases something with 16nm.

yeah  I see 16/14 mentioned as if they are the same.  but  this gem GEN of chips has had the most problems with voltage leaking across the chips since this has the smallest space between the laser cut power tracks.

so I lump 14/16 together as same gen and it may prove to be the smallest we see for a long time.

I have read 10nm early designs are worse then the 14/16 with power leaking.

Engineers are clever dudes and dudettes so maybe good 10nm chips will come about in 3 years to 5 years.

I do think a better 14/16 chip will come about.  maybe in a year.

But from now on  boom boom boom   6 to 9 month much better asic mining gear is done.
as is 90 day  ROI or on a piece of gear.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
Well, BW.com has at least four 14nm miners that I know: BW B11, BW B11-PLUS, BW B12 and BW B16.
No public release for sales though.

There are other reasons. The Bitfury ASIC is 6mm square, for 36mm^2 of surface area for heat transfer. Compare to the BM1384 with 64mm^2 area and a practical upperbound on the S5 of 10W (400MHz) gives a proportional areal heat density of 5.6W for the Bitfury chip; assuming it can be pushed to 6W safely that's 624W of board heat, plus fan power and controls and PSU losses puts it at about 750 wall watts maximum.

Hey Phil - I very highly doubt that miner will pull 1000W without the ASICs bursting into flames. I'd like to see their actual numbers, but my guess would be ~700W tops.

looking at it i would think the older style s3  heatsinks can not do 1000 watts.

so you could be correct that it is a 700watt miner.

Nah there is still Batch 18 left... for now.
I seriously thought (for about 1 min) about ordering 2 of the b18's. But -- I've really been waiting for another release of the R4's so I can get one or 2 for room heaters. Ya know, cool weather here and cold arriving... Wisely chose to Just Say No and stuck with just the one.

Since again it will be replacing a power slot in my main farm at work that is currently used by a s7... starting to really get an unsightly buildup of off-line s7's growing at work  Embarrassed

Then in in Pasture there is the uber-rare fully functional retired A1 rig from AMT, 2x s2's, 2x C1's, and 2x s4's... Quite the collection. Glad I was at least able to offload literal pile of my old s1's 3's, 5's, and another s4 to Sidehack Cheesy

Lol I placed an order for 1 B18, but my wallet took well over an hour to synch, so the order expired. So I placed an order for 2 instead Smiley

Antminer s9 is a good choice if you have free electricity otherwise keep some hundred's of dollars in your bank and pay the electricity bills.

It seems like they've always manually adjusted their price on the site. Maybe they're afraid of automatic adjustments and the affect of larger price swings.

then, they should not say "bitcoins", just sell for $$ from credit cards or paypal.
bitcoin does not have bitmain's favorite value; value is known, real time.
