Hi folks,

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Working on remote monitoring of S9's, and the RPC API command 'devs' is not working for me. 'pools', 'summary', 'config', 'version' work fine and return information. 'devs' works on S7's.

Any suggestions on how to get the 'devs' info off the S9's using API or any other type of scripting from a linux box to the miner?
Most likely need to change the s9 miner software from Restricted API access to Privileged same as some s7's need done?

Just had to do this on freaking 50 pcs S7  Angry Angry
Ouch!
I know the last 2 s7's I bought (b18) are set to Restricted as well as 1-2 others from earlier batches.

To do it I assume I'd use PuTTY to SSH in but from there...
Where is the config file located?
What editor and more to the point, what commands are used to change the permissions?

And of course, wonder if this works with Bitmain's fork of Kano's CGminer on the s9? ...

S9's firmware package with bmminer's binary application file is in preparing, Need get some files from ALTERA FPGA's project. We will upload the sdk of S9 which can be used to create S9's firmware package. The estimation time is about next week.

Please feel free to contact us if there is any question.

Best regards,
Andy

I got a response back from their support department, looks like they should be uploading the S9 firmware SDK next week.
So hah they fucked you over also.
No sign of that source code ...
... requesting thread lock by mods.

That's a great idea. Can anyone request this - if so, how?

Well I did write a VERY LONG API-README that describes the API I wrote ... but go figure.
If they broke the API ... why would anyone be surprised Tongue

With BTC falling I can't see any pricing that is going to work for bitmain.  Anything close to 3 BTC is going to take a year to ROI and right now that's looking to be $1600 and on it's way to sub $1500 from the looks of things.

With the price of bitcoin falling like a stone, they would be silly to try $1800 dollar a unit again.

would not hurt to list at  12th spec and  1800usd  see the sales for a few days.  if it does sell well cool.

if it does not sell well  end the batch  say it sold out wait a day or two and then list lower.

Say 1600  and say 11.85 spec  to make buyers think it is different.

Just saying.  If I had the only miner to sell I would consider the above move.  And I am known to be pretty honest on this site.  In fact I give coins aways on my guess the difficulty thread. ( no charges at all)

100C after 2 hours

try freq 587 vs 600

your error rate is good

I would think a very slight freq drop will get you a little better temp wise

first mine in my life
is this temp high ?

it is just okay

69 - 100   is as high as I would go.

If you drift over that  you could alter the freq just a bit lower.  say 600 down to 593 or 587

your errors are good  0.0005%  is very good.

see what you have after 2 hours

then after 4 hours
