I got some additional S9s. Not a great price by any means and now it is already sold out. I think next batch could actually be cheaper now that profitability is lower, if they release it soonish after this one.
Given the history, this most likely small batch served as pump for BCH together with buying in exchanges just before going live in Coinbase. I would bet anything that the timing was not a coincidence. This kind of insider manipulation could seriously compromise both BCH and BTC going forward. Does no favors to boosting cryptocurrency as reliable alternative to FIAT money.
I thought the same thing. Noticed the early pump in BCH price, then the Bitmain website was acting up a bit. Next morning the new batch is released. Where there is smoke, there is fire
Yeah, it's dirty AF. On the ASIC business side I can't complain too much. They have reached dominant position on the market through their vision and ability to execute. It is not their fault there is no real competition on the market and they are still giving reasonable ROI for their customers (naturally excluding D3 here).
I just would very much prefer them staying away from the politics, but unfortunately they have decided to use their power to manipulate the industry. This whole shenanigans is hurting crypto in the long run and I believe their only aim is to make boatload of money now and not care about the future. They are reinforcing their label as $hitmain and like this BCH will never achieve the required trust to be considered as future of money. In global finances trust is everything and they are throwing it away with this sandbox kids fight with Roger Ver as main bully.
