Take the number of hours since the last block was found.
The add up the number of hours that the last 10 shifts consist of ~3:10 each.
subtract the time for the shifts from the time since the last block found and that will be the number of hours/shifts that you would get 0.000. This could also be considered hashing with no pay for those shifts. But there is no way to avoid this other than finding more blocks. Last week we hit 9 blocks with lots of luck. This week looks a little more average so far.
by my quick calcs. at the time right now. 2 days 7 hours =55 hours.
Last 10 shifts =~31 hours.
This equals about 24 hours of hashing (8 shifts) without pay because no block was found. These 0.000 shifts will continue until a block is found.
This is going to happen especially on the RED blocks.
I personally have hashed on other sites and Minter still pays better (especially with good luck). The law of averages should balance out if everyone is consistent on hashing. Yes you may do some shifts without pay but when the good times roll again you will be above most other sites.

Thanks for this... but that's a lot of "quick calcs" to be able to do. Personally, I would like better statistics "at a glance."
As a 24x7 BitMinter-only miner, I had come to rely on the "Expected Pay Per Block" as this showed me, based on my miners, as well as their performance and connectivity (and what the rest of the pool is doing), what I would expect to receive for the NEXT block found -- all in one number. Yes, I can look at previous transactions, but as mining is progressing, it was beneficial for me to review that one number as something that I could use as a comparison. For example: Say, it showed that I would receive 0.0175 bitcoins for the next block the pool found (based on my score, etc). But, if logged on to find that the pool hash rate had increased considerably, that number would fall. That's fine. I still know what is "normal" for my miners. Additionally, if I experienced a network connectivity problem and my miners were offline for a few hours, I could see that impact as well.
For me, it was a near real-time snapshot of the health of my mining hash rate vs. the pool hash rate.
I'm all for the new statistics, although I continue to protest about removing what was (to me) a very useful and beneficial statistic. Now, I'm going to have to "do the math." I'm sorry that some people found it confusing... but many of us know nothing else, so it is now more confusing without it. At least to me.
Doc: Appreciate all you have done and are doing to improve things. BitMinter is and has been the one and only BitCoin mining pool I've been a part of since I began this adventure. I've looked at others, but never switched.

On the Workers page, could you add a "Total" under each column? That would essentially give me the same information I used to see on the Live stats page.
The live stats wasn't showing the total for all workers for all time. It was the total for the current round, which doesn't appear very useful. Maybe the total for the current shift does what you want? A total for all workers for all time is a good idea though - I'll add that to my TODO list.

The last 10 shifts are still being paid. Since their pay rate is not known yet, they show as question marks.
Some shifts have very high pay and some have zero. If you mine 24/7 this evens out and doesn't matter. If you are mining part time it will increase your variance, causing payouts to vary a lot depending on luck.

Hey Fahlcor, that is some serious power you're bringing. What kind of equipment are you running and how are you liking it? I'm still running S3's and some pencil-moded s1's so I may be looking to upgrade so some new stuff in the near future.

New server is up, and stats have been updated on the website!
We now have a new server up at us2.bitminter.com:3333 (Stratum only)
Use it as backup or primary, and keep mint.bitminter.com:3333 as your other server. It's helpful to have a failover server in case you lose connectivity with your primary one. For some users the latency to us2 will be lower as well, which may help a tiny bit with rejected (stale) work. More servers are coming soon.

- Shifts page: now displays pay/hour for mining with 1 TH/s. It's very simple. Work during a shift was paid at a certain rate (which varies with luck). You did a certain amount of work in that shift. Seeing it from this angle makes it much easier to understand the relation between work and pay. No more wondering how much you will get paid per block, and how that is affected by your work in the shifts.
- Workers page: data per "current round" removed. Instead you can choose between "all time" and "since reset". There is now a "0.0" reset button. This works like the trip meter of an odometer in a car. Hit the reset button any time you want. Afterwards you can see how much work the worker has done since that time. And the total amount of work the worker has ever done is always available.
- Account details: "expected pay per block" has been removed. This was the source of most misunderstandings and caused trouble to no end. It invited you to try and understand the relation between work and pay in a very complicated way. You can of course still see how much you got for each block in your transaction history.
- Live stats: user-data per BTC and NMC rounds removed. These numbers didn't matter. You can still see your data for the current shift, which does matter. The total (pool wide) amount of work per round is still kept for luck/cdf stats, which is useful.

I could add around 10TH when I point all not rented out miners to Bitminter, not so much, but some mor people with 10TH or more and it could really make a difference

The old one is in Los Angeles. The new one is in Kansas City.
Not very far apart, but it works for failover. We'll have servers in other areas soon.

This was actually very useful for people who understood how things worked. Can it be hidden somewhere else for those who do understand it to see - maybe on the transactions history page? https://bitminter.com/members/transactions
Yeah, it is still there in the transaction history. There is one payout for each block.
more details removed from stats..."they don't matter" so we are further blinded between the efficiency of the pool in relation to our hw and its contribution. oh well. this is the way it has been. i'm happy its here and works so well. and

new server If you have suggestions for more stats, send them to me. I don't know any useful measure of pool efficiency except the stale rate. Most users are at 0.1% or below. As long as the stales stay that low I don't know how interesting it is to show more stats on that..

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do with the 10 latest shifts. I suppose I could show how well they have paid so far, but I wonder if people will misinterpret that. I have a large rental running so hopefully I can help get some blocks.
I'm assuming that the ?? on the https://bitminter.com/shifts page are there because they are only truly accurate once they have passed. Would an estimate be possible for those or not really?

This was actually very useful for people who understood how things worked. Can it be hidden somewhere else for those who do understand it to see - maybe on the transactions history page? https://bitminter.com/members/transactions
more details removed from stats..."they don't matter" so we are further blinded between the efficiency of the pool in relation to our hw and its contribution. oh well. this is the way it has been. i'm happy its here and works so well. and

New server is up, and stats have been updated on the website!
We now have a new server up at us2.bitminter.com:3333 (Stratum only)
Use it as backup or primary, and keep mint.bitminter.com:3333 as your other server. It's helpful to have a failover server in case you lose connectivity with your primary one. For some users the latency to us2 will be lower as well, which may help a tiny bit with rejected (stale) work. More servers are coming soon.

- Shifts page: now displays pay/hour for mining with 1 TH/s. It's very simple. Work during a shift was paid at a certain rate (which varies with luck). You did a certain amount of work in that shift. Seeing it from this angle makes it much easier to understand the relation between work and pay. No more wondering how much you will get paid per block, and how that is affected by your work in the shifts.
- Workers page: data per "current round" removed. Instead you can choose between "all time" and "since reset". There is now a "0.0" reset button. This works like the trip meter of an odometer in a car. Hit the reset button any time you want. Afterwards you can see how much work the worker has done since that time. And the total amount of work the worker has ever done is always available.

- Live stats: user-data per BTC and NMC rounds removed. These numbers didn't matter. You can still see your data for the current shift, which does matter. The total (pool wide) amount of work per round is still kept for luck/cdf stats, which is useful.

You don't need to keep all the shifts at full hashrate to get proper pay (common misconception). You should expect in any pool that if you don't mine for 4-6 hours then your income drops a bit.
Just to add some emphasis to this: Your income would drop a bit because you didn't work for 4-6 hours. But your pay for the other hours you did mine on any proper pool will not be penalized by the lapse in your mining time.
The most common misconception with PPLNS is that you need to mine in all currently paying shifts in order to receive "full" payments. This is false. The expected payout of any share on PPLNS is the same whether you mine for hours without stop or mine for a few minutes every day.

If there are any renters here I would be interested in combining our efforts at the same time to see if we can see if we can push a few blocks maybe?
I would be doing 50thash for 6 hours. If anyone is interested we can set a common time and do it.
