I would also be careful selling these on Ebay, I am not totally sure what the policy is, but if you sell something that burns down someone's house or hurts someone, it may be you who is liable.  Again, not sure about that, but it is something I would look into before selling.
If you knowingly sell something on eBay that causes harm or property damage then the fault becomes yours even though BA is still liable for the original sale to you.

I'm contemplating if I should start solo mining with my 2 x1's and hope I get lucky.  I can't sell them on ebay, they make less than a dollar a day mining on a pool and my power is cheap so it won't cost me much.  I know the chance of finding a block is slim at best but it's starting to look like the best option.

Why can't you ebay them? Mine showed up, ima use em until they are sold. I really came to terms about losing this money a few months ago so now i figure even if i can get SOMETHING for them it is still better than nothing.

I'm confused .... after all the "stuff that did not explode" after all, explodes Huh?

can someone explain?

.............................

On the hashboard there are no electrolytic capacitors. Everything is solid. They cannot explode with flame.

This 1500uF electrolytic capacitor ended on this board by mistake: We have added it while trying to debug the noise in the SPI and forgot to delete it from the BOM. By the time we got the backplanes they were already mounted. We did not think that it might be a problem and we were pushed by you (customer) to ship asap therefore we have not removed them. Removing them would have caused at least 1 day delay.

We also don't need the 470uF solid capacitors from the backplane.

That is ofcourse bullshit and they know it..
they have a huge problem on their hands cause the machine is CE certified. that means that if something happend house on fire, human electrocution and its caused by the BA miner they are responsible !!

Authorities would ask the TCD files of the miners. (Technicel Construction Dossier) if is not complete our the product did not pass certain test well you will loss your balls ....

There are 30 AMPS going through 60 pins. Each pin is rated at 2.2Amperes. I do not think the connector is the problem.

We agree that this is a serious concern and we are examining right now what is the best option to proceed. At this point we are no longer shipping X3 until we find the exact cause.

Customers that already have X3s are adviced to shut them down and wait for further instructions.

And another new product for a very good price.  Grin

Wow, that's a bargain!   Roll Eyes

At least, they don't have a MOQ of 10 like they did on the X-1s.

Can't even check their own website for typos and obvious errors.

Unreal.  Not only will you never profit from an X-3, now it poses a potential fire hazard and health risk running it from home.

Speechless, at this level of incompetence.

Anything with electricity running through it is a potential fire hazard.. But ye, dont think we'll be seeing much profit on these units :/

I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
Weird. I've seen miners do fire things, but it was mostly on the little caps on the <1 volt chip power lines (because those supplies are now running at 300-1000 amps). A thousand amps at .5 volts will still make a 500 watt mess but it's typically quick.

At first glance that looks more like a capacitor on the 12 volt side failed. But then why didn't the power supply just crowbar? Unless those are high side FETs under that heat sink, one blew shorted and sent flames jetting into the capacitor.

Man, that would be *COOL*! A close-up of that little heat sink right above the fried cap could answer it a bit better, but still wow....

Nice. But this surely falls under the "Built with high quality parts that do not explode"-warranty.

Received an email last night from BA requesting a BTC address for rent-a-minion. I had requested a refund for the rent-a-minion portion a while ago.

Paid 7 BTC and will be lucky to get two out of it. That BTC is still in the wallet I sent it to.

The email said they are planning to deploy rent a minion in a few days.

Current difficulty returns 6 and change over 6 months if difficulty remains unchanged. My 2 BTC estimate is my estimate, to be fair.

I still have not received a DHL tracking number from their email last week that my shipment should go out later today. I have checked my spam folder many times.

These are the approximate earnings of a single X3 module under current diff / BTC per price of $477 @ 1,000Gh/s.

per Day   0.01833509 BTC   $8.76
per Week   0.12834566 BTC   $61.29
per Month   0.55807441 BTC   $266.49

Bitcoin Difficulty:   27,428,630,902
Estimated Next Difficulty:   31,837,232,396 (+16.07%)
Adjust time:   After 1989 Blocks, About 13.0 days
Hashrate(?):   212,813,326 GH/s

The X3 now makes $12 a day and the X1 makes 63¢ a day. Only a month left before they make $0 a day.

Also how is compensation suppose to work, WTF am I suppose to do with a worthless miner that has no PSU?

I've got an idea, since we're all Nazis and we've been bad you should just ship all the miners without PSUs! It's not like we need PSUs by the time they arrive anyway. Also if by chance the X3 still makes a dollar or two a day when it arrives this will ensure that the customer won't be able to mine any of it.

Your numbers are seriously scewed man. I dont mind you bitching, but at least tell the truth.

What is the path of least damage at this point?

A. Take the comp ASICs and sell them (where the hell would I sell them, who would buy them?)
B. Wait and pray for BA to do something like ship the X3 and give a good scrypt miner as comp (hoping they used the x-1 x-3 to learn to do this and now at least have some clue and won't be a year late on that)
C. Ask for a refund, never get miner, never get refund (I'm assuming this is what happens if you ask for one) Any case of anyone getting a refund? I have plenty of free hours with an attorney that I can use but I don't want to blow them if "them being in china" means I'll still never get my money back.

And to think, I can remember a time when I was worried about letting BA do the 5 day hosting because the extra shipping delay might cut into my ability for ROI.

I didn't need that $5k so much then, but with things that happened since, that profit (fuck,..breaking even) and having that money would be a life changer.

(sigh)

Hope you'll get atleast something this year..

I opted for option C, bought from MS. their product was/is delayed way to far past the original communicated shipment date minersource and blackarrow is obliged to send customers a refund. They even agreed to send me a refund months ago and I'm still waiting. How both companies still exist and no one is jailed is beyond me.  Huh

Minersource do the right thing and send those refunds ASAP! You can't just keep playing with peoples money and get away with it.

Same here, waiting on a cheque Dan Murtha promised to sent on 22th of July, asked for an update after 3 weeks (now 2 weeks ago), and they will not even respond anymore besides the automated "your request has been received". Disgusting, this minersource company. Guess there's nothing left but filing at the FTC an their local attorney's office.
If you really want to start ruffling Minersoures feathers, anyone with a legitimate complaint against them should start also talking to Mircocenter General Managers. If hey want to protect that deal then the less complaints against them the better, just explain how they're (Mirocenter) is in bed with a business that handles their customers poorly and explain your situation.

Hmm,..
My friend works at MC's distribution center, everything that they order/test/fulfill etc.. goes through his doors in Ohio, I may just have to see what his opinion is on all this.

I'm one of those idiots that held out to the end,.. thought , hey I'll just buy my additional CPU from minersource as they'll probably have a few extras and can ship immediately,.. That was over a month ago so.. now they have skin in the game on my buy too.

Let us know, maybe in a new thread linked to from this one so it won't be deleted. People just want their money back from Minersource after not delivering on time as promised.
