Capitalism 101. Having said that, I think the philosophical argument around supporting one company or another would be have been much better had the threat of competition from the likes of BFL or Avalon been credible. AsicMiner produced a product that resonated with the people, one to cover the low end (USB Miners) and another to cover the high end (Blades). More importantly, they shipped. That people gravitated to AsicMiner is an easy, foreseeable conclusion: there is no sustained, credible competition.

People seem to forget, that the main reason for any business to exist is to make a profit for it's owners. A well run company will attempt to maximize the profit. EVERYTHING else the company does should be in support of this effort.

Friedcat does not need your money to increase his hashing power, he makes PLENTY of money from mining to add all the hashing power he wants.  Selling mining equipment is mainly because he is producing more hashing power then he can deploy... so he sells the extra for profit.

ASICMINER is and always has been primarily a mining company, selling hardware is secondary. thus, anyone who cared to look knew well in advance that, IF they sold hardware (it was an if at the start) they'd have their own mining farm too.

Why do you people support a company that increases their own network many times over with your own money?

Units are in the field.  Only buy second-hand if you must.  Don't contribute to this madness.

We wouldn't settle for BFL or Avalon mining with their own equipment.  Why do these Chinese ventures get a free pass from that scrutiny?

None that I am aware of. Maybe someone knows from a PM with friedcat. I am interested also to when these will be reopened for order.

Not really. They launched new price @ 19 million difficulty. Now it is 21 million, only +10% change.

It would not be surprising if he makes another price cut a few weeks from now. 

Obviously difficulty will have an effect on earnings, however it also depends on which pool is joined. 
It's possible to earn more than what the roi calculators estimate for the miner.  In early June, they were
estimated to earn about .0103btc , yesterday's showed they should be earning about 0.0079.  For some reason,
the miners I've been watching since early June are earning at a rate closer to the former than the latter. Hitting
the right pool at the right time may have helped, but it's unsustainable for a longer period of time.

With the recent significant jump in difficulty, the price should be cut in half again.

They made 10,000 for the first batch and sold about 4,000 at 1.99. Now with the price reduction they probably sold the other 6,000.

They told they were doing more units, so no problem
