Hello!
I do not get any text messages with code from your website, therefore I can not get into my wallet, I use SMS Two Factor Authentication.
Please note, up to yesterday everything was fine, no delays, logged successfully always. What should I do now? I have sent request via support desk but still no response, also I would be grateful to know why is this happening? Neither in Google nor in FAQs I did not find any answers on this issue. Maybe the problem on the side of my mobile operator? But I get the sms without problems from any other services. Yesterday evening it wrote me that my wallet is locked due to max login attempts, cuz I didnt get text messages, today I try to login in again and it wrote me something that I reach maximum sms limits. What does that mean? When this sms limit is updated again? And the most important question, how do I login to my wallet?

I'm not getting email notifications on transactions received, anyone else?

I stopped getting e-mails when I logged into my wallet, and I rather liked these.

I found a preference somewhere that seemed to allow one to opt mails for receiving and sending coins, but I didn't see that I could re-activate the account login (or attempt).

Hi, I have a question about your API (https://blockchain.info/api/blockchain_api). I often get the HTTP 429 Too many requests response. I use your API to parse the blockchain. I didn't find any API usage limits on your website but apparently I'm successful in hitting them. Could you please tell me how many requests I'm allowed to do per second or minute?

https://blockchain.info/api

Quote
Requests in 8 Hours: 3 (Soft Limit = 28800, Hard Limit = 28900)
Requests in 5 minutes: 2 (Soft Limit = 700, Hard Limit = 725)
Aaah, it's at the bottom of the API page, pardon my question then, feeling dumb. Thanks!

neither site nor new android app seem to be working right now.

Still having any problems?

How can this link still be your customer support section?

I'm fed up guys... Fix your transaction fee.

You can open a ticket here - https://blockchain.zendesk.com/. We reply within hours when you do. Keeping tabs on forum posts isn't the best way to interact with users, but it is still be beneficial for this thread to exist. Also, our transaction fees are based on this - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees. The minimum fee cannot be lowered until the protocol is changed.

The Android app doesn't seem to scan watch only addresses properly.

I tested this out, and it worked fine now. Let me know if you still experience any issues scanning keys.

I don't think the official iPhone app has been updated in a long time, most likely an Apple bitcoin hating issue, not a puik ignoring iOS issue??

To say Apple isn't the biggest fan of bitcoin right now would be quite the understatement. Hopefully we can have an update in the near future for iOS devices.

Theft protection, Timed Transactions:

It is quite insane that people can clean an entire wallet in seconds if they just get hold of your wallet info, one of the biggest problems is that there is no warning or time period where the real owner can react to the theft. It too late immediately to do something.

I have a suggestion that would be optional / in addition to all your other theft protection features: Different Wallet types with different time delays on the transfers.

For example:

Wallet = Instant Transfers
Account = Initiated transfers happens after 24 day.
Vault = Initiated transfers happens after 5 days.

This way you get a warning if somebody tried to transfer funds out of your account and you have time to stop it if you did not initiate it. Typically you would hold maybe 90% of your stash in the Wault. 9% in the Account and 1% in the Wallet for day to day use.

You must issue some master STOP password through either physical mail or SMS when this feature is enabled. If a transaction is initiated by a stranger you will get the regular message that money have been transferred from your account and you have so and so many hours / days to stop the transfer if it was not initiated by you. Alternatively you can sell a OTP device that have several modes, one of which is to generate these STOP codes. Like the ones banks use.

Every time I log into my blockchain.info wallet I'm literally scared shitless of key loggers, trojans and other attacks. It should not be like that to log into your bitcoin account. Having such a security feature would make it much more difficult to steal entire accounts super fast. Sure what you have in your Wallet part can be transferred out in an instant, but to get hold of the bulk of your savings would be very difficult. You would have time to do a complete security reset of your account changing all of your passwords, cleaning your computer before enabling transfers.

This feature should ideally be in the protocol with completely different addresses. So for example addresses beginning with 1 are the regular wallets we know. But then new address types would be added beginning with for example 7 and 9 for Account and Vault type wallets. The miners would know not to add these transactions to the blockchain before the timed delay. I know it would be a big change to the protocol, but it is quite insane the way the thefts are going on today. Bitcoin is like driving with a spear stuck between you and the wheel of the car, you only have to bump into somebody very slightly to kill yourself. If we want mass adoption we need to add the most simple and logical of security features to prevent theft.

Playing around with the bitcoin: protocol, and noticed that when I scan an NFC tag with a "bitcoin:..." value using an Android phone, blockchain.info opens with a screen to send money, but doesn't then pre-populate the target address. Is this a bug in the app, or am I using the protocol wrongly, eg should it be "bitcoin://..." instead? Link works in a different app OK.

How many GH per watt do ASICMiner et al get?

It's quite variable, based upon the stats in the main chart ("Complete ASIC Hardware")

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

ASICminer (blade) is 7 Watts/GH, Avalon 10, BFL 6, BitFury & KnC 1-1.5

So, the mining power consumption has broadly been in 3 levels:
650 W/GH until end-Feb
8 W/GH March through June
2 W/GH Since July but will drop below 1 early next year.

Rough numbers, but perhaps usable

This is the problem:
Bitcoin Mining Uses $15 Million's Worth Of Electricity Every Day
http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2013/12/03/fascinating-number-bitcoin-mining-uses-15-millions-worth-of-electricity-every-day/
At least they understand that ASICs are more efficient, but logic won't get in the way of a FUD headline.

It would be useful to have an paid insurance service against theft.
Of course it could be not trivial to investigate the incidents, but it would be worth to be considered anyway.

I don't see how you could possibly distinguish genuine theft from insurance fraud. That is, if a client continues to hold private keys to insured coins.

I'm fed up guys... Fix your transaction fee.

This is the last time you'll bugger a transaction for me. I'm not recommending your service again until you get it fixed. Sending without a transaction fee when the wallet profile is set to normal is not ok. You're the best option for new users on iPhones, so this needs to be a priority.

Peg the default transaction fee to $0.01 and everyone will be much happier. At the very least add an option to send the equivalent of $0.01 for every transaction.

I haven't read this thread, so I don't know how much of a steady whine this is...

Get it fixed before black friday and I'll donate 0.1 btc to the charity of your choice.

Yes, this is extremely frustrating! I've set my transaction fee to "generous" yet, when I use my iPhone to do an in-person trade we're stuck waiting forever for a confirmation because no fee was included. I've had it take up to 24 hours before and this is not acceptable when you are willing to pay the fee for speed - especially if you are doing local trades (sitting a local Starbucks twittling  your thumbs waiting for a stupid transaction to confirm before you can get your cash). PLEASE FIX.

I don't think the official iPhone app has been updated in a long time, most likely an Apple bitcoin hating issue, not a puik ignoring iOS issue??  Mine gives me an address must be between 1 and 1000 error.  However, the website works fine from iPhones, and lets you include a fee.  You can't scan QR codes with it, but it's not difficult to have the recipient message an address and copy it - I've done it several times, at Starbucks  Cheesy

The Android app doesn't seem to scan watch only addresses properly. At least for me it will not scan a QR with a proper url like bitcoin:1blahblah... as provided by Electrum.

This is very annoying. It's the only easy way to get a watch only address from the desktop into the Android wallet for monitoring without having a rather bothersome exercise of cutting/pasting copying across emails or otherwise copying data across. (Actually I don't see any way to import an address other than scan QR so maybe it's not just hard but impossible?)

Is no one else having this issue? The QR code seems to be fine and is read by QR Droid.

I posted this as an issue in the github repo but it seems to have been ignored, or is there some other reason why it should not work?

$0.01 has a much better chance of being confirmed than 0.00000000 - This is what's happening now. Occassionally on the iphone blockchain 'app', with the default setting for transaction fees of "normal" will not include a transaction fee. Everyone understands this, I hope.
