Just noticed that ckolivas commited a changeset a few hours ago with an update to the bitfury driver. Re-compiling from source, with those changes, made a difference in the numbers I was seeing in cgminer. Cgminer reported hash rate went from around 1.7-1.8Gh/s to around 2.2 - 2.5Gh/s.

Nice one, have you got a link to the source? My search fu has failed as I'm tired Smiley Thanks.

Pencil mod, in case anybody else is stupid enough to do it.

Before Pencil Mod:
after 22 hours of hashing:
Code:
BPM 0:       |  1.99/ 1.99/ 1.83Gh/s | A: 6507 R: 56+0(.81%) HW:1182/3.3%

after Pencil Mod:
3 hours of hashing
Code:
BPM 0:       |  2.59/ 2.59/ 2.49Gh/s | A:1242 R: 6+0(.48%) HW: 371/4.5%

All warranties void perform at your own risk.

My view: these are a toy, I dont care much if I break them, do you ?
Nice work! Promising results how did the cooling hold up?

You pencil moded r22? I tried on one of mine and no change, did you have a special pencil? I just used a #2 like i have on other things before.
Per Beastlymac's and others earlier posts it's probably R15 which is supposed to be modified from 22k (says 223 on the device).  R15 is next to IC2, close to the PRG switch.
@FrontLineFodder - can you confirm that this is the component that you 'penciled'?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=319419.340

Cheers

I used a HB #2 and saw no difference on r15

I seem to be having fairly good results so far compared to some others. I thought it would maybe be a good idea to share where I'm at so far....

I have a screen-dump to post but can't quite work out how to post it... Tongue

(i) Running BFGMiner3.5.1 on a Raspberry PI (Rapsbian Wheezy).

(ii) I have 20 USB Block Erupters and 1 new USB Blue Fury split over 3x 10-port hubs.

(iii) Running at 8.9GH/s. (2.3GH/s for the new blue fury)

(iv) There are 7 USB miners per hub, plus an Edimax wireless dongle, and a nice cheap USB fan for cooling.

(v) Before arrival of Blue fury, the 20x block erupters worked fine.

(vi) After some trial and error, I have all 20 block erupters and also the blue fury running under the same instance of BFGMiner3.5.1, and it's been stable so far. We're at 8.9 GH/s which seems not too bad considering other folks descriptions.......

The command I use is..........

sudo ./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://xxx -u xxx  -p xxx -S bitfury:/dev/ttyACM0 -S Icarus:/dev/ttyUSB0 THROUGH TO -S Icarus:/dev/ttyUSB19 --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100

Hope that makes sense - as mentioned previously by others we're specifying drivers per port. ACM0 is our blue fury. USB0 to USB19 are our 20 block explorers....

So what's with the 100% error rates on these things?  BFGMiner 3.5.1 on OpenWRT.

They seem 'A Bit ShitTM'  Angry

Follow what I posted above it will sort your 100% errors out I was ready to sell these befor and was at boiling point ended up formatting system and re doing everything and now working. Still not happy with the results tho want faster maybe better firmware to come out in the future.

None of that applies to OpenWRT, unfortunately.

There are some bad Blue Furys.

I purchased 40 of them. 2 are bad.  One w 29% errors the other w 75% errors.
The reseller I purchased from is going to replace them for me next week. =)

Nice work! Promising results how did the cooling hold up?

They normally run much cooler than the erupters in the same hub. nothing accurate, i'd say 10 degrees hotter than normal, just bearable to hold the finger there.
Eruptors run too hot, touching them hurts.

I also have it furthest from the fans (should probably change that) so heat might be slightly exaggerated.

I might be able to get a photo of the hubs with my IR-Blue, wont be untill sunday evening though, I left it in the office.
If you could provide some photos that would be great.

Then just use cgminer? The performance is tied to the device, not the software...

cgminer is only giving me 1.2 to 1.3GH per device not happy when their meant to be a lot better than this.

What does the pool report? that is the figure that pays you.
The software should just work. or not work.
If the figure at the pool is also low, then its either the hardware or your network.

The pool is reporting  around the same. Am getting to the point now of just selling them. I spent half a day on this BS and am getting more and more pissed of at them the longer this takes. If I don't sell on ebay I might even take a auction hammer to them myself and smash them up. Shit like this does not need to be complicated it should work from the get go without these problems.

Chill for a bit,................. then do you have access to a Pi?............

MinePeon is working ok here.

no pi tempted to get one sometime but right now cant afford
