What has your ISP/Hosting/server service done to correct this?

In reality they are the entities that should be dealing with this type of issue.

I do not know your setup, but you really need to get on the case of someone upstream from you, they can deal with the issue much more effectively than you can.

On a personal note, do not give this ASS anything, it will only encourage them and there is nothing stopping them from repeating this action over and over.

Your loyal miners will understand, and we all have backup pools.

I know I will point my miners right back to you, as soon as you give the word. (If they are not down for some tweaking...LOL)

Can you change the pools ip? keep it in the loop within users?

Just a thought.....

Smiley

Wouldnt really solve anything and it wont take the person spearheading this crap much time to find all the ips/blocks of ips.

Is the pool back up because I am connected and hashing.

Its back up. If whoever is doing it goes for round 2 I will simply kill the pool rather than having users connect/disconnect for the duration of attack, not very profitable way of mining.

The most bizarre thing, unless whoever is doing this to all the pools went out of their way to track down every single pool, publicly listed or not, to do this shit to since I dont list my pool address anywhere so they had to part of this forum or a previous miner on my pool.

It really boggles my mind, and I will likely get an email soon looking at just the huge dump of traffic Im receiving. This is what 99.9999% packetloss look like, and its not sexy.

DDOS UPDATE:

So, I finally resolve a huge batch of issues and the pool runs nice for a few hours then suddenly some COCKSUCKER is targetting my servers and datacentre with a massive DDOS attack.

I took pool down until its over since it will just waste everyones connection/hashing when they reconnect/drop the whole time.

Fuck im so tired.

That sucks. Did you get an extortion letter like BTCGuild?

PERFORMANCE UPDATE:

I believe I figured out where most of the problems lie, I could resolve one part and rejects should from here on drop to between 0.8-1.5% from the current 3-5% , once I resolve the last part the reject rates should drop by half again.

I restarted 2 hours ago and have seen 7.6% rejects along with a couple down periods with no work since then.

Ive had numerious restarts of pool in last 2hrs, at every restart your miner will dump all the work as rejected locally only. I dont know what you mean with "no work since then" ? Pool is running, everyone is connected.

I mean that I've have 7.6% rejects and a couple of the no communication periods since I restarted the miner a couple hours ago.

Are the pool restarts just happening, or is that you working on the pool?

Yes its me working on it whenever I see LP's occurring and out of the ordinary rejects spamming I make some changes based on statistics pulled during the session.

Im leaving things as it is right now over night without any resets so will look at a longer logpull tomorrow.
