The best thing is always try as much as possible to dig dip about a project bounty before joining or as already stated try and join a bounty that is managed by a reputable bounty manager, although it is not 100% guarantee of anything but having a reputable bm manage a bounty is much better and a bit safer because such bm won't support a fraudulent campaign.

You are absolutely right. I saw many bounty hunters they only join and do their task. They don't check their spreadsheet status even they don't check is this campaign finished or running. Some hunters Copy paste others tweet or post for social media & sig. they should stop it or they will be kicked out from the campaign & will get banned from the forum for plagiarism. Hunters should be smart, honest and Active.

I do agree with you. These points are essential for everyone, not only for the newbie; instead, everyone should follow these steps to find a better bounty to promote. Though reading the whitepaper, team past working experience, reliable partner, investors, media coverage like Nasdaq, Forbes, Coindesk, Yahoo Finance, Cointelegraph are important to verify a new bounty project. Never stopped researching before joining in any campaign! I feel good that the number of scam bounties is less now, people are aware enough from scammers!

Good tips, If I remember there are only 2 good and reputable manager in the forum It is Hhampuz and yahoo62278, but they are rarely having a full bounty campaigns which has social media, blogging, etc. They focus on Bitcoin paid signature campaigns. When I join a bounty before my mindset was join as much as you can, but that is completely wrong, quality over quantity, just select those who has more potential with facts.

You forgot Bubalex! He is one of the good guys, all bounties where he was manager paid their participants, he chose bounties
carefully, and he takes care of his reputation!
I agree these are good tips for newbies who are trying bounties for the first time. From choosing the right campaign will depend
will you be paid and will it be worth your time and energy!

This year so far I haven't seen either one of these bounty managers releasing any new bounty projects, that's the thing with bounty managers, not every time they will have something to offer bounty hunters, you just have to do your own research some times

1. Join a bounty project promoted by reputable bounty managers here. You can try to search a thread here in the forum for them and there are quite few results of them in a list form.
2. Do not be greedy and put too much trust on the project. If you can earn then good if not then let it be. As long as you get a reward then that would do already. If you try to join all of the bounty in that project then it will be a load of work and if ain't pay you then that is really a waste of time and resources.
3. If the team offering the bounty hunters to pay a small amount for the bounty hunters to process the rewards then pretty sure they are scam. They just trying to scam even the bounty hunters.
4. Join an organized group or team handling bounty projects scrutinizing the project before accepting will likely to be legit.
5. You can search google for incoming good projects but some of these projects are not offer here in bct instead they just use other platforms to promote the project. However some offer the project has offer it here in BCT so it will be a  good chance to join that kind of project.

Number three is a big no no project that will do that will be labeled as a scam project, you don't ask payment to your bounty hunters and it's always the other way around, managers and developers should be the one paying them and thanking them for promoting the project,if there is one it should be reported in the scam section.

Lastly, if you have the coins or tokens in your possession and the value is good enough then sell it.
Don't wait for a long time.
Trust me.
I bought a lot of tokens before and before I knew it, the value is already dropping.
I told myself there might still be a chance. But no, it will just be dust if you wait more.
Don't fall in love with their sweet words.

If this advice is strictly for Newbies only then it's just a lot easier and safer to follow popular bounty managers like bounty detective, bubbalex, arteezy, Hhampuz, etc, and make sure you do research, the use case for each bounty project is the most important

I hope someday all bounty managers, both new and old will start using escrow instead, few bounties have turned back on bounty hunters saying they work cheaply and they don't deserve their tokens because it was never escrowed, some team likes cheating bounty hunters

1. It's better to join bounties from reputable bounty managers on the forum
2. If you are promoting a project that's been managed by team be prepared for the worse
3. Stay away from any self moderated bounty threads on this forum, something is always fishy with self moderated threads
4. Don't bother promoting projects that aim to list on p2pb2b exchange or plan to list on such exchanges or others like exmarket or latoken, price dump is possible

I've never seen anything like this but if you encountered one that must have been difficult for him to pursue you, since the main reason you want to join bounty is to earn for free if you're willing to let go of any resources you currently have I think you'd rather invest or trade.

And you missed the very important one of participating in bounty, escrow the bounty pool should be the best because some projects scam the bounty hunters too. They promise to pay xxxxxz but later they don't keep their promise and pay lower or sometimes no reward at all. So, it's very important to check whether campaign manager is considering escrow the bounty pool or not.
Yes, this escrow service must be applied at every bounty manager because it will be safer and more timely when the distribution has been determined, and bounties without escrow such as digitalbits do not pay the hunters at all even though the price is quite good.

My general avice would be to look for promising projects outside of the bount section of the forum or on the internet in general.
And then afterwards look if a project that looks good to you offers a bounty in any form.
Don't just go to the bounty section and pick the campaign who offers 1.000.000 $ in shit-toxen XX, because then you are chance of getting a totally worthless shitcoin or nothing at all are close to 100.  Smiley

Bounties can be very deceiving and tricky some times, you might think a project is good enough where as it's a scam project, I almost fall for ibid signature campaign until I saw a bad review about this project called ibid in scam section on the forum then I quickly have a change of mind
Ibid bounty is a scam project using Ponzi scheme, this is very easy to find out if you visit the website, all information about their Ponzi schema in there. So I think to visit the website is also important thing before joining in any bounty campaign.

The newbie who have intention become a bounty hunter they must active in the scam accusation board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

At least if they are active in that board they will be aware how to spot scam project and they can report if they find a scam project.

Or they will know the way of scammer when they try to scam many people. Also, there are a lot of information that will be useful for them.

I am not agreed with this point. A project which promises to paya little amount to the hunters can not prove the project is scam. Rather than promising of giving more reward which is unrealistic has a very chance to be scam after finishing their advertisements. Because when a project make a plan of scam they arrange their advertisement with a greedy offer for the hunters so that they get a huge traffic.

Bounty hunting though has troubles due to scams and low rewards but still i enjoy it. Our job is to select the top quality project to promote preferably with a working platform and then we should promote it with all our heart and effort because if the project will be successful your reward will be worth more in coming months due to increase in the price of the projects token. So just keep working, stay positive and hopeful of good times ahead.

Reputable bounty managers don't provide any guarantee, the project under their management will success. So don't just trust it, always do research before joining

Maybe you can add no 6
Make sure go to Scam Accusation board and find the project you want to join there
