Broner looks very different now, he isn't very cocky and sounds a very respectful kid already despite the win. did he hire a PR?  Grin

seriously his jab is fast and one cross that almost made Santiago kneel is a big plus for him. it's not the most impressive win but Broner really is trying to make himself look good and making people see his humble side. good for him. he continues to do that he'll last long in his boxing career.

I was surprised too as I was expecting an old Broner, but he changed here, he is determine to win and his been aggressive in this fight. Not so cocky probably help him to up his game in the ring, hopefully he can continue to do what he's been doing and will be given a chance to fight big names in boxing in the future. Adrien Broner is still 31 years old, there's still plenty of games to come for him as long as he is winning.

Regardless though, he is too late, he should stay humble when he was at his prime. For me this fight shows that he is now a wash up fighter. Good that he won, but he wasn't able to knockout a D-level figther here. Of course, he can still fight at his age, but he will be just the stepping stone now for the young and upcoming fighters and champion at 140-147 lbs.

I'm locking this thread now.

It was a close fight and I would say that Broner is really wash up fighter now. Good for him he won but give credit to Santiago for showing and try to win this fight with aggressiveness and body punch. The judges scorecards are: Tom Carusone (116-111), Glenn Feldman (115-112) and Peter Hary (117-110).

That was a fair fight and it was entertaining to watch, welcome back to Broner, and hope that he won't gonna back to his old attitude where he doesn't respect his opponent whether outside or inside the ring. this man came up with the win today and hopefully, he will gonna fight some best boxers in their class again like he used to be. I mean, he has the skill to do so.

I see Broner is quite aggressive now but he does not have a KO power, and he has changed, I thought it was James Harden fighting in the ring, lol.. kidding aside, congratulations to him, some may think his win was not convincing but a win is a win and it's final.

Let's see if he can get big fight after this win.

He just wants to get a win four years is such a long year for a losing streak, and he wants to feel the win but I doubt if he still can take those champions on the division he is aiming, he cannot go for a welterweight title, it's laden by powerhouse champions, I doubt if he still can win a title, he losses his strength and his sting

I did not watch this fight tonight but by all accounts it was not a great performance by Broner. His days of fighting at the elite level are gone and he should seriously consider retirement. Too bad he's lived recklessly and will probably have to offer himself as a sacrifice to build up a younger fighter if he wants to continue fighting and making money.

Yeah I also didn't watch the fight because we all know that Broner will win here but he won't show a good performance because he is trying just to get a pay check. And they move the contractual weight to 147 lbs because he can't make 140 lbs anymore?

So it's pretty obvious that they've given Broner all the chance to win here and probably the judges are into it. Too bad for Santiago because the only way he can win is through knock out.

At least, he won this fight. And by now, he knows what he needs to improve if he will get big fight after this. As he said, he definitely needs to go back to the gym, that means, he knows for himself that he didn't give his best in this fight. And he's aiming title at 140.

Some people are saying it's a close fight, and it should be a draw or at least a split decision, I did not watch the fight also, but look at the highlights, it seems like Broner although so serious with this fight, he did not won convincingly, so how much more if a quality boxer will fight against him?

I see their fight has been finalize already and instead of pedro campa, Broner will be facing Jovanie Santiago. This fight is totally in favor to Broner for sure even if Santiago is
undefeated as I see that Santiago has a total of 15 fights only which is very far compare to Broners experience.

Though anything can happen in the ring but I am pretty sure that the bookmaker will surely to favor Broner in this upcoming match. I tried checking the casino that I used but I didn't see the odds of Broner and Santiago so I am sure that there are few casinos that are hosting their fight for sure.

no odds yet even at stake. maybe we will see the odds by the end of this week. but yes, more then likely bookies will favour broner here. but he's been so long outside the ring so lets see if his training will pay off afterwards.
santiago, on the other hand, has good stats and has recent fights than broner though only few bouts in his record.

This wasn't the original fight, so there's a possibility that it will be cancelled who knows.

I am looking at some highlights of Santiago now since I am not really familiar with this boxer, and seen in some of the highlight video that he is a good body puncher. Look at this highlights _ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgFOXl2pL4g (video not mine)

See, maybe if he can make that to Broner, that would be a hell of a win, and being the underdog, it seem so interesting.

Broner vs Santiago Feb 20 Showtime Championship Boxing (SCB)

https://www.boxingscene.com/adrien-broner-vs-pedro-campa-headline-feb-13-showtime-card--154601

Well AB seems to be in the cross roads of his career, who would have thought that his career will turn this way. Very talented boxer but he waste everything, another boxer gone bad. This could be just one of those fights that he really need money because there's a lot of lawsuits against him. Touted to be the next Floyd, but his arrogance back fire on him.

I would say that Campa is no push-over, he is Mexican and I think he will give Broner a tough fight. No odds yet, but if Broner is the betting favourite, I might go with the underdog Campa just for s**t and giggles, hehehe.

Ok guys, I've unliock the thread and updated it with Broner's new opponent, (thanks to  bisdak40 for messaging me), Puerto Rico's Jovanie Santiago.
According to my research, Adrian Boner is much more experienced than Jovanie Santiago and we can compare that with their current standings. Adrian Boner has standing of 33-4-1 while Jovanie Santiago only has 14-0-1 and that is where we can compare since Boner has a 38 matches already while Santiago only has 15 matches.. Maybe that is the reason why other people tends to bet for Broner. If we are going to depend on the past few games of both boxer, we can bet on Jovanie since he has a 3 games win streak while the past 3 games of Boner is Lose-Draw-LoseThe bout will happen on Mohegan Sun Casino at United states. The height and Reach is also an advantage for Santiago even if it is just a bit advantage.

Here's the fight menu.

Broner vs Santiago
Big difference in terms of experience, Broner has the edge here and he will be the favorites for sure, no doubt about that.

Unfortunately until now there's still no bookies that is offering the betting odds of this particular fight.

We are still 14 days away on the said fight so bookmakers would be showing or do offer when we do get closer on the said fight maybe less than 10 days.

The problem is we don't have any idea what's the betting odds for this fight, it's suppose to be out in fiat sportsbook.

Broner is popular, how come this fight is not popular? I don't know what's the reason why odds are still not out.

It could be possible that the fight will not happen? 10 days before the fight? I doubt that man, probably 1 to 2 days.

Broner vs Santiago Feb 20 Showtime Championship Boxing (SCB)
Ok guys, I've unliock the thread and updated it with Broner's new opponent, (thanks to  bisdak40 for messaging me), Puerto Rico's Jovanie Santiago.

This Santiago although a replacement is good he has a strong punch and likes to go deeper in the body, but the biggest question is can he connect with a very agile Broner, but it's a good replacement though it's Broner's last chance to get back in the limelight, there's no excuse for him to lose here, it's a career ending loss if he lose here.

This is better to watch than exhibition fights like that of Mayweather.
Broner needs not to lose this fight or else, I don't know what will happen to his career afterwards.
No bookies has this match yet? Looking at bestodds, they haven't yet this one listed maybe due to the replacement.

This is a win-win for Broner though, maybe the odds would go like 1.0X here  in sport bookies.

Of course, if he losses this fight to Santiago which is an unknown fighter then it will be over for Broner. The "AB" or About Billions that he used to carry as his moniker is now a dream, LOL. And if he wins here, he still needs to go to a lot of fights and wins impressively just to be in the contention for another belt. So we will see if he is past his prime after this fight or not.

He is AB "The problem", not it's himself is his problem because he is not getting big fights and if he will loss, you are correct, it would be the end of his career, so he can't take this fight lightly although he was a champ before, but things have changed now.

When it comes to experience then theres no doubt that Broner would be the heavily favorite for this fight. You can tell the different in terms of that aspect on just seeing the numbers.

Both does have impressive KO percentage which means they might tie up on punching power but talking about technicalities and experience then there's a huge gap.

We've seen several fights that had been arranged between fighters which are really too wide when it comes to gap on statistics.Dont know on whats the basis of management
on making out matches even if its clear that this wont really be a match up.

The thing i dont like about broner is being too tactful. hehe
