And this is what I'm talking about, bookmakers forgot that Donaire is still a champion here and shows another great performance.

Congrats to all who ride on Donaire, by KO, ML or the fight not going into distance.  Grin

And with that said, I'm locking the thread, let's see if Donaire vs Inoue rematch will happen.

it would be nice to see the rematch against Inoue, we've seen great adjustments with the way Donire fought this match,
There were  many changes he made in his approach and Nonito Donaire made history with his win and his counters are just impressive and he is improving as he ages and that is a beauty because attain new skills when you age on how to maintain the flow is crucial when you are fighting late in their career and lets see whether he will get Naoya Inoue for the rematch but Innoue has a fight coming up as well against Michael Dasmarinas.

Inoue needs to win against Dasmarinas before discussing about this rematch, but for sure it's very possible to happen once everything was settled.

This win and having the bantamweight title gives Donaire a great privilege to call this fight, else, there are more available challenger just in case that the

talked between the two camps have some issue or some interruptions, Donaire have the right to demand and its really a great opportunities for him to extend his stay instead of retiring, he still have that power punch and he shows good adjustments.

That's right, Inoue has to respect Dasmarinas as it's a Filipino fighter with a big fighting spirit, he needs to win first then they can talk about the rematch for the unification of the belt. Donaire would always want the best in the division, and he is just waiting now.

What if this scenario happens.

Dasmarinas wins against Inoue.
Casimero/ wins against Rigo.

It will be 3 Filipino champions.. will they fight against each other.

It's possible, and that's why the Filipinos could possibly taking over this division. You forget about champion in this weight class, which is Gaballo.

And the record that Donaire broke as the oldest champion in this division is held by another legendary Filipino fighter, Jerry Penalosa. But you can say that there is also a history of Japanese fighters in this division as well. Anyhow, I wanted to see Donaire vs Inoue II, and I think this is what the majority is looking for not Nonito against fellow Filipinos.

I watched the game and I am amazed on how the Filipino Flash controlled the fight until Round 3. What surprises me the most is that, this may be a candidate for K.O of the year! Man, Donaire managed to K.O. him after the last second of Round 3 and Oubaali was not able to recovered from those punches.

I also think that the referee made the right choice on throwing the towel. Dude was confused and wobbly after several punches and hooks to his face. Even if it was the end of the round, Oubaali was just not able to recover and convince the referee that he can still fight.

I think rounds 1-2 is even, it was Oubaali who is the aggressor, I even believe that the judges gave that first two rounds for him. Donaire was only looking for the best timing, he is not punching a lot and if you notice, in round one he is not throwing his left hook, that's because he is just measuring the distance and observing his opponent.

I think it will be a big problem to donaire to win to his opponents. This is just my assessment only though I am a Filipino citizen, Oubaali seems really strong and have a lot of skills compared to Donaire skills and experienced. But I do hope He could win against Oubaali. Their training both are secretly done and we don't know what kind of training they did during the period of time before of their fighting even.
The fight is over, Donaire win.
Oubaali is a good opponent but in this fight Donaire prove that he still got what it takes to be a champion. Those who bet for Oubaali probably regretting their decision, well its still a good fight indeed.

^^ Ok, so Donaire indeed won this fight and show greatness again by coming in with a huge knockout of Oubaali and as I have said, it will create a ripple in this division as there are great champions and opportunities for him. Inoue will be one and then Casimero. But I would rather see Nonito to fight Inoue for a rematch, and not fight another Filipino in the table. Congrats who ride on Nonito for a knock out or even a win.
Donaire indeed won the match unexpectedly, KO was not expected considering the record and skills of Oubaali, but its over now and we have a new champion. Its too early to talked about the rematch on Inoue but many are hoping for this, they both a great boxer so we deserve them to see on both ring again. Donaire is still kicking despite of his age, looking forward for the fight of Manny as well this year.

But i'm expecting a knockout win by Donaire that's why i bet for that  Grin.

Oubaali came to the fight with 17 fights and i could say that the experience factor belongs to Donaire.

Donaire have fought big names, Arce, Darchinyan and Montiel to name a few while Oubaali have not face fighters with those calibers IMO.

Age might be the only reason why Donaire was placed underdog on the bookies.

Right, as I said on this tread three days before the match if  any of  two boxers were susceptible to  the risk-aversion he would lose. Donaire has got a grip after the first round and found the room for his heavy armed right hand saving left one for winning shots in third and final fourth rounds. This  fight was is one example of how  the skill wins.
They're both skilled so I don't think that skill was the reason for the win, I think the experience was the one that made the difference with Donaire sporting 40+ wins under his belt and with Oubaali having only 17 wins.
The experience was really a major factor for the success of Donaire, in fact, his loss against Inoue was not an easy loss because he fought real hard and has an eye socket fracture because of Donaire's powerful punch.

Huge win by the Filipino Flash, I knew it, he would win this fight but I didn't expect it to be this easy.
I wonder how Oubaali is feeling now, it looks like he was seriously hurt in the game that he didn't even know where he is going after round 3.

Though he recovers he didn't adjust his game, so in round 4, Donaire took care of the business by not making it go to 12 rounds.

Inoue here we come again.

I'm also waiting for this rematch. I like Donaire next to Pacquiao due to his speed and his counter punching skills. He improved a lot, I was amazed how he was able to knock Oubaali on the 3rd round and finish it on the 4th. Honestly, the punch on the 3rd round was right after the bell, but inspite if the referee was able to stop the round properly. The result is inevitable.

Sad that i did not watch the fight but happy because I'm gonna post my recent post here

Congrats to Nonito Donaire for being a champion again.
Its just sad that this fight is advertise poorly.
I hope Filipinos and the government recognize Donaire the same as what we give to Manny.
He is a great boxer too who give as an honor, a Filipino pride as well.
I have to agree about the match's advertisement. It's not that too noisy at all before the match happened. I almost not knew about it when I randomly someone discussed it before. But anyway, he's still won, not just the belt but also the hearts of everyone.

I forgot the odds of the KO win by Donaire, but I'm sure the KO for rounds 4-6 gives a huge winning odds since Donaire was the underdog of the fight. I saw a lot of fans here favoring Donaire, so I expect a lot of winners, however, if there's a rematch between Donaire and Inoue, I guess I'll think wisely before putting my bet as Inoue is not called a beast for no reason.

Bookmakers are completely wrong about the odds given, LOL, while Filipino here knows about Donaire's going to win by knockout or at least take a UD win against Oubaali. No disrespect to Oubaali, but it was a mismatch the way I see it. 4 rounds? championship? easy easy fight for Nonito.

I'm smelling a rematch with Inoue next, unless another Filipino derail this mega-fight, Michael Dasmarinas. So Filipinos are taking over this weight class and we also have hard hitting Casimero and then lesser known Gaballo (WBC interim) who will have a rematch if I'm not mistaken against Rodriguez.

it would be nice to see the rematch against Inoue, we've seen great adjustments with the way Donire fought this match, he really waits for every

opportunities to open up, not too aggressive but the timing was perfect to take down Oubaali,

something that very different from the last fight where he lose the against Inoue, he have that open punch but Inoue ignore those heavy one and absorb his power, for sure this time if in case that the call for rematch happen, Pinoy flash is more ready and he have the adjustments to counter Inoue.
