Nordine Oubaali is one tough mofo, he be beat Inoue's brother if I'm not mistaken, good fight.

Yes, the odds is very attractive for Nonito Donaire, maybe the bookies forgot that he can still box with the best and can beat them so it's a easy call for boxing gamblers to really throw and slip a bet on Nonito, even though he is old, he can still pull that trigger, specially his left hook that drop a lot of fighters during his prime.
That's a really strong feat for Nordine to do since Inoues are a staple in the boxing scene. I don't think the bookies forgot, they are just practical and their analysis might have come to a conclusion that Nordine has a better chance of winning against Donaire, but their analysis isn't final, we just have to see for ourselves what's going to happen when the gloves finally touched.

Oh, man! this one is a surprise fight given that it will gonna happen a few days from now.
Indeed, this is a must-watch fight for us since most of us have been waiting on who will be the opponent of Donaire.
Most of his fights have been postponed and this time it should be done. Anyway, this fight is not really that exciting because his opponent is not that known.

In the match I think Oubaali will certainly play explosively to defend his title, and of course boxing lovers know that he is one of the fighters who  has a very hard hit  and good defense strategy from opponent attacks, moreover in several interviews he said he was waiting for this fight with good preparation and certainly will not disappoint the spectators who witnessed the fight because surely the battle will be an exciting battle and as a former Philippine title holder of course Nonito Donaire will not just let Oubaali dominate the match, in my opinion the match on May 29 later very worthy to be witnessed.

Long overdue fight, makes me wonder again, we are more affected by the covid-19 virus? We have seen boxer affected by the virus and then losing the fight. i.e. Berchelt losing to Valdez and then Povetkin against Whyte.

So it will be interesting is more damage because of the virus since both of them have and then recovered. Oubaali is not a knock out artist, and then Donaire is the taller of the two, so height and reach for him as well. But Oubaali has good turtle like defense, and I would say awkward as well and then throws a lot of punches. But in any case, I can see Donaire pulling an early knock down, en route to a majority decision win.

Indeed it is, there was no thread about this until today I think but the good thing is that we can Filipino Flash go back in the ring after a long time. The odds for Donaire is pretty huge, maybe if I won't be busy this week, I could probably slip in and bet on him, don't know much about his opponent but base on his looks, it seems that this is not just some guy with the belt.

This fight has kind of flown under the radar. I didn't know it was happening this weekend but I am very interested. If Donaire wins then I think Inoue would prefer to give him a rematch than fight Casimero. Inoue will be fighting in a few weeks so their schedules line up for a potential fight. We will see how the long layoff has affected each fighter. Donaire is older but Oubaali is also old for the weight class and doesn't have much experience. It is a more even fight than the odds suggest, in my opinion. If Donaire loses then it is time to retire because if he can't beat Oubaali then he isn't beating the other champions.

Exactly, we almost forgot about this fight because it should happen last year but was scratch to the last minute because of the obvious covid-19 on both fighters.

Donaire still has some left on him, so I wouldn't discount that fact. Even if Oubaali strategy is not to engage him early, still good for Donaire as he can preserve his strength down the championship round as I have observed that he gasses out during the Inoue fight that's why he didn't close out Inoue that time.

I also agree that if Donaire losses here, then it could be the end of the road for him. But he has a good chance, I don't know why the odds are like that in the beginning, it seems that Oubaali is overhype at this point in his career and hasn't beaten anyone as good as Donaire.

This is a must watch fight, but I think Donaire still has the tools to edge Oubaali by either a left hook knock out or a hard fought 12 rounds and unanimous decision win.

I doubt Nonito can manage to sneak a one-time KO punch to Oubaali. He may connect some of his strong left hooks but probably not powerful enough to put Oubaali to sleep. Nonito always lacks the finishing follow-ups. And because I think this fight will go the distance, I am rooting for Oubaali, but might not actually bet. I don't think Nonito could outscore his opponent if the result is a UD.

Anyway, I agree with the odds.

I thought Nonito has already declared His retirement recently? or i missed the news correctly ..

Oubaali is one strongest fighter and in His prime while Nonito had already showing the sign of aging and the slower and weaker punches that he is not when His prime time.

Maybe I will not partake on this fight for now because i don't wanna bet against our very own but also i dont wanna lose my bet if i put into him.

Oubaali is at his prime right now but that doesn't mean he is a great fighter like Inoue, Donaire is one of the few fighters that withstands and almost beat Inoue, if he can come out with that kind of performance he has a good chance against Oubaali I'm betting for Donaire he still can come out with a good performance to beat Oubaali.

^^ I'm not aware that Nonito announced his retirement in public. This fight is supposedly in December 2020, just pushed because of the pandemic and both contacted covid-19. So there is no retirement for Donaire, on the contrary if he wins and got the belt, for sure he needs to defend it and who knows, he might get a crack at Inoue again, or even Dasmarinas and Casimero.

So we have another great fight this weekend, between our very own Nonito Donaire vs Nordine Oubaali.

This fight have been scheduled for December of last year, but Nordine contacted Covid-19. And then Nonito was bound to fight Emmanuel Rodriguez but he himself got the virus as well. But now everything is clear, Nordine for his third defense of his 118 belt against Nonito.

Nonito is the underdog, ML:
Oubaali - 1.33
Donaire - 3.25

Here is John Riel Casimero's take on this fight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muE1_dw953U

Although this is on pure Filipino, but here is the key points, if Oubaali will fight toe to toe then there is a chance that Donaire can win. But according to him, Nordine has all the tools and very fast, but doesn't have the power, but can score points. Of course he says that experience and height and power belongs to Donaire. And for Casimero, Nonito is the clear favourite here but he needs to knock out Nordine.

Interesting to note that John Riel calls this as Donaire's last card, but no need to worry because he will take care of this division by himself  Grin.

Am I seeing another Montiel performance here? I think Nordine fights like Montiel and we all know how Nonito crack Montiel's chin with that perfect left hook. Although you can argue that it was a prime version of Nonito and now he is just a shade of his greatness although he can still pull some upset here.

And specially that he is the underdog, remember that in the Inoue fight, Donaire has some moments and he almost beat the Monster in the series. He even broke Inoue's orbital bone if I'm not mistaken so Nonito can still pull that trigger.

So this one is worth to bet on Donaire if he wins. I hope he will show the same power when he fought Inoue. We don't know how they are prepared for this fight up until they are already inside the ring. Sometimes, it is the preparation that matters even if we say the opponent has very good record like Oubaali who has no loss yet.
