Going back to the Fury vs Wilder III topic, since the promoter already booked in Vegas for the December 19, targeted date of this fight, let's hope experts are wrong that vaccine is only available next year.

https://metro.co.uk/2020/07/01/tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-date-fight-boxing-heavyweight-12928909/
Since the choose date is just a targeted date then it still not certain that the fight will take place because the date can be skip due to the covid 19. However, i hear that a vaccine was developed in Russia but world healthy body are yet to confirm it.

.
Yes but you might not notice that the COVID 19 brought some nations together.
Crime rate in our country has decrease due to covid-19, people not going out, police force are in the streets, so that help a lot.
However, we don't want to be in this situation, and I hope that what you said will happen, countries helping each other would make us easily recover from this crisis.
Crime rate decrease because changed the way we see the world and i said countries will help each other because i believe that the way to overcome COVID 19.

Let us all put our views here. The votes give a big indication of what the general consensus is towards the fighters is but there is more to this thread than just the votes in the poll.

This fight is very popular, if we close the thread, we won't be able to discuss the updates of this fight.
Yes, keep this thread open because there are a lot of changes in the fight schedule, so at least someone is updating us all whether it could be in December in US or somewhere else. I read that Australia is being look at another location but I doubt that it will go there because of the COVID-19. And it is better that this happen in US soil, as both of them have a huge following in the States.

Even if this fight will be held in other country, I think they will still get a big number of people who will watch the fight, no sports enthusiast would not know these two great fighters, so if it will not happen in US, I think Australia is also a good venue.

They need to have a gate entrance revenue and a good number of PPV to meet their target.

But still the mecca of boxing is center on US so if the fight are held outside, it might suffer a bit in terms of revenues. So for me the only venue should be in the US, and besides it is going to be difficult to go there because of travel bans and restrictions.

Let's not hurry, wait till everything has settle down I know that this fight in the most highly anticipated match, but the organisers are looking at a a common ground for fans to see it thru live gates and PPV and for them to earn a decent because they also spend so much money promoting this fight already.

I heard that the boxing are also back and ppv is the option introduced for viewers/fans but actions/fight seems to be scheduled for September. However, I dont think top ranked fighter will accept part of accepting losses and they will prefer to wait till a vaccine is developed which is the reason why Fury vs Wilder and AJ vs Kubrat Pulev are on hold.
All the big fights are sold through PPV and the only reason for the delay in making the fight is the live gate amount they will be missing and if we are going to wait for the vaccine then it take a long time as the clinical trials just started. The promoters should make changes according to the situation and negotiate with the fighters regarding the revenue sharing when there is no live gate rather than waiting for a vaccine.
Big fight you said? Because the last time i checked all big fight ard on hold ever since the COVID 19 issue happened and the ticket fee was not the only reason why the big fight are on hold because other promo and partnership may not happen either.

If  USA can get some vaccine from Russia, then we might see some big fights happening this year, and that is with a crowd.
We might even see big fight like Fury vs Anthony this year if a vaccine is develop but this is not the issue getting some vaccine from Russia now because the article link you provided says the vaccine need to use for some more clincal trial before it can be endorse so I think we ahouldnt make any conclusion yet.

If he said that then its  clear that they do go after for ticket sales - gate as you mentioned but they wouldnt able to know if they wont try about having that PPV thing.

This is business but they should consider on the current situation we are in. Its not really that easy to imply on the things that they do like nor prefer.

When it comes to profits then we can see the difference but whats more important is that this fight should really be resumed and accept on what revenue they would able to generate on this one.
The issue here is the boxing business model, the live gate belongs to the promoter and they will not let go of the huge amount and not many high profile fights takes place every year and it is possible that the promoters will delay the event as they earn around $10 to $20 million for these gates and if any promoter is willing to let go of these huge profits then we might see high profile fights and may be they are hoping that they could allow audience by the end of this year.
Then they either have to change the current model just as every other sport is doing, accept some losses and make the fight without public or wait until a vaccine is developed and only admit in attendance to the fight to those that have been vaccinated, all the options present disadvantages, they either have to accept less revenue or the fight will have to be postponed further losing hype and most likely losing money in the process as well.

Thank you for the suggestion but I think I will keep the thread open for a while longer because it was not just about the actual poll about who voters might select for a win, it was also supposed to be about a debate to share views about the differences between the two fighters as well as the fight date and other things.

Of the 64 votes so far, 50 have been for a Fury win which equates to 78.1% so there is no requirement for there to be 100 votes before I close the thread, I think the thread will remain open for a few days after the actual fight takes place.

It makes good reading what people posting here are saying about the fight and mentioning who might be the next opponent for the winner of this fight and other scenarios.

I said this to JollyGood weeks ago, this thread should be closed IMO, it's useless.

You already have a resounding result which shows Fury is favored by the majority, you don't need to get to 100 votes to tally the percentages—just scale up the numbers.

This thread should be closed until the fight is announced, or at least the title should b changed because its misleading.

No point in voting for this fight, as the dates are not finalized. A few months back, Bob Arum hinted that this fight may not happen in 2020. Also, I heard that there are disagreements regarding the purse. For the third fight, as per the contract the purse needs to be split 60-40 in favor of Fury, but Wilder is rumored to be unhappy about it.

In case the fight happens, then I hope that they will be able to take the PPV revenue to the $100 million mark. Revenues from the second fight (in 2019) was not very high. I heard that there were 800,000 PPV buys within the United States, at $79.99 apiece.

They are optimistic that the vaccine will be release this year, I am sure that's the only way live audience will be allowed, unless the fight will be held outside the territory of the USA. I read in the news before that the vaccine is not available this year, but other countries like Russia are saying they start reproducing the vaccine soon.
I am sick of the situation we are in, i thought in the beginning that the virus will go away but then the shit continues and i doubt how developed we are in terms of medical science in combating these kind of virus outbreak, for the vaccine we need to wait around an year to get a commercially viable product even if they are so close in developing one, live audience can be allowed if there are better testing kits and hopefully scientist around the world will develop one before the vaccine comes out so that we could go back to normal. If not for this virus we would have already watched the trilogy Cry.

Let's just wait for the result next month as it was written in the news that the vaccine will be available next month in Russia, if it's working to them, then that means the world will start to celebrate as that discovery will not be limited for themselves, it will become their responsibility to share it to the world.

We are up to 62 votes now so that is a good thing, I hope the votes keep coming in  Wink

I think the numbers are just reasonable, the thread has a lot of views and posts, but most posters here are posting over and over when there is an update, maybe there are some that didn't cast their vote but I'm sure majority of us already voted in the poll.

Despite of the few number of votes, it's very evident that majority are in favor of Fury to end the rivalry.
