Also similar to Tapales, Conor was also humble before he became very rich. When he was not yet a champion, Conor's trashtalking was also not from his personality. He only taught himself to trashtalk to sell more tickets and more UFC subscriptions. Marlon can also use this tactic to sell more payperviews. It will also make this very exciting for the fans hehe.
That's what I think about his attitude too, and I think that McGregor being an asshole and cocky fighter during interviews contributed to the increase in sales in his fights which I think is the best strategy right now because you can pair this kind of fighter with a calm demeanor fighter or an equally trashtalking fighter and the results are going to be the same: more people wanting to see the matches. This fight is going to be a blast and I feel like Tapales is going to have a hard time with this one on the aspect that it's the Ariake Arena where Inoue defeated Fulton so the psychological warfare is on Inoue's advantage but given that there's two titles at risk for Tapales, hopefully it's enough to stave off that mental warfare of fighting in that arena where Inoue did a one-sided fight.

[''''']he might try to take it until the last round and let the judges do the decision. I hope it will be a successful strategy against a boxer like Inoue who likes ending the fight in a short amount of time.

I'm not entirely certain if this is a great strategy. While it's a unification fight, Tapales should acknowledge that he's not competing on neutral ground. Fighting in Inoue's home country could mean that Inoue gets certain advantages in a close contest. To secure a victory, Tapales might need to focus on developing a potent counter that has the potential to hurt Inoue and aim for a knockout. This way, the judges won't need to decide the outcome.

A day after Christmas, it's a great selection of schedule. Now, there's no more speculation about whether the fight will push through or not. At least we have the official report on when and where to watch this fight.

Tapales seems to be taking this seriously; he's already been training, even though there are still 2 months before the fight. Will he be training for a total of 3 to 4 months? I understand his eagerness to win, but I hope he doesn't overstrain himself.
I hope so too. Maybe he is doing exhaustive training now and will do light training when the fight gets near. There are still two months remaining before their fight and I think a month of rigorous drills should be enough while he conditions himself on the last month before going to Japan.
I understand why he is serious about it and maybe his camp does know that they are the heavy underdog in this fight that's why they want to surprise everyone with a display of Tapales' best performance.

After watching some of Tapales' training and sparring clips, I think he is going to use the "in and out" type of strategy and if I remember it right this is also the technique he used against Murodjon Akhmadaliev, he might try to take it until the last round and let the judges do the decision. I hope it will be a successful strategy against a boxer like Inoue who likes ending the fight in a short amount of time.

I'm starting to have mixed feelings about what Tapales has been doing lately. It seems like he's moving away from being a humble boxer and trying to imitate what Casimero has been doing. I understand that he's training hard, but maybe he should keep his words to himself and just focus all his energy into training.

Calling himself a "nightmare" for Inoue sounds a bit funny because no amount of trash talk is likely to disrupt Inoue's focus.

That's just how it is, man. Boxers who engage in trash talk tend to get more attention. While Tapales might not naturally be that boastful, he's probably following the orders of his promoter. Marketing the fight is crucial, and this kind of promotion is designed to make the fight more interesting, attract a crowd, and boost potential PPV sales if there is one.

Also, if there is an agreement in their contract that the fighters will receive a big bonus if the sales of their payperview reaches a certain quota then Marlon Tapales should certainly trashtalk and market himself as Inoue's nightmare hehehe.

I reckon Marlon should also watch the replays of Conor McGregor's interviews and start walking the billionaire walk like Conor hehehe.

Nah, I don't think that Tapales has the swag like that, this Filipino boxers came in poor like Manny Pacquaio, so they are really very humble in boxing even if they become a world champion because they still think were they come from. Exception to the rule is John Riel Casimero, however, it seems that his arrogant lifestyle has caught up with him. He doesn't have a good fight at 122 lbs so far and we don't know if Inoue will give him a chance after he got all the belts from Tapales.

And remember that this two doesn't speak English very well and obviously it's not their first language. So it's very hard to talk trash against your opponent as it will go on a translator and the translator might missed or intentionally omit words.

However, Conor McGregor also was poor in Ireland before he began his career in MMA. He was a plumber and a construction worker.

He need to train very seriously as this is the biggest fight of his training. As we have been saying, he shouldn't live an stone unturn in this fight. He need to be ready at 100% capacity and be motivated both mentally and physically. Usually fighters train for 8 -12 weeks and then be at peak during the fight night. I think Marlon is good and will not be overtrain.

Tapales went to the US in late August in order to train. So it's 4 months in total until December 26 which is too much for the body. But I am pretty sure his team knows it, they are probably taking some breaks and are only training lightly. Although Tapales already had a lot of sparring sessions with Ancajas and Magsayo. It could be that the plan to transfer to the mountainous Baguio, Philippines is the start of the serious training camp.

Meanwhile, according to veteran writer Joe Koizumi, Inoue's plan is to move up in weight by 2025. If all goes well, he aims to defend his undisputed championship 3 times next year mentioning the names of Nery, Casimero, and Akhmadaliev.

Inoue's Plans

And I think that is what we are discussing previously, that there are news that Inoue after unifying the belt and beat Tapales, he will stay in this division. And I guess this one as well, who is questioning my posts before,

I read that this is the 4 fighters that Inoue wanted to face before moving up in division,

1. 🇵🇭 Marlon Tapales - This November
2. 🇵🇭 John Riel Casimero
3. 🇲🇽Luis Nery
4. 🇺🇿MJ Akhmadaliev

Can we have an official source to these? As far as Inoue is concerned, he is not a type of boxer that target a certain boxer in terms of he really want that to be his opponent. Marlon Tapales isn't on Inoue's radar but since the Pinoy boxer got the championship belt, then he needs to fight him as that was a mandatory to become the undisputed champion in the Super Bantamweight Division.

Maybe that list is those who wants to face Inoue instead and try to keep the monster at the Super Bantamweight for the meantime.

Luis Nery is honestly just full of talks. He won't stand a chance against Inoue. On the list, it's really John Riel Casimero as a better opponent for him although even I will support Quadro Alas here, Inoue is seems to be the better fight over him. Casimero have a hard time dominating the unranked boxer he faced on his last fight. If that performance will be applied against Inoue, it's a clear win already for the Japanese.

So there you have it, we might consider the source as official now. And that is the boxers that Inoue really wanted to face, at least he will have to clean up this division before he can move and see his greatness once again at 126 lbs. But it's very hard as natural 126 lbs are heavy and taller like Rey Vargas.

Even if he drop some nasty words towards Inoue still I'm convince that this guy is humble man and he just release some certain statement so that he will have courage to face Inoue in the ring then also have some  swag effects on interview.

I don't think he needs to engage in trash talk if it's not his nature, especially against a boxer like Inoue, who's aptly called "the beast." This is arguably the biggest fight of his career, and in terms of promotion, they're looking to ensure they'll have a bigger earnings, which often means grabbing the attention of fans. While trash talk can boost sales, it's not a strategy for everyone.

Casimero is really different since he will not be called for Angas ng Pinas for nothing but he's performance is declining so maybe its now safe to say that the fighter is close to defeat Inoue at this era is Tapales since he's still a champion and he will not reach that far if he's totally easy to defeat. This December we can really see if Tapales could dominate this fight since if he can manage to win against Inoue for sure this is the best fight that he could ever get in his career and for sure many would really get hype for that potential win that he got from Inoue.

Casimero's recent behavior is quite different from what we've seen from him before he become popular. As I mentioned earlier, it could be just another marketing tactic. Boxers understand that they have the potential to earn more money if they adopt a more brash and cocky persona, especially when they are challenging the best in the sport.

In Casimero's case, I believe there's still a chance for him to become a champion again. However, when it comes to facing Inoue, there are rumors circulating that Inoue may not be interested in fighting him anymore, possibly due to disappointment with Casimero's recent performances.

And i think that being a unification itself will make this fight sellable not only in Japan but also in the Philippines as this could be history if Tapales would upset Inoue. Thrash talking is not in the minds of these two gentlemen because like you said, English is not their native language and it is hard to interpret thrash talk to English hehe.

That would be a great title for him. Upsetting Inoue is like an uphill battle, but there's always a possibility. Yes, odds are slim for him, but who knows, maybe he will get lucky and hit Inoue with one punch and Inoue can't recover from that. Or he really did trained very hard in this fight, lots of sacrifices in his end just to get where he wanted to be.

And I think it's better for Tapales just to not make some noise and be as brandish and arrogant as Casimero, no need to do that. He just need to come prepared and not trash talk Inoue, make the weight and then execute their game plan against the Monster even if it is a uphill battle for him.

So, this fight is now official for December 26 in Tokyo Japan. This only means that whatever Tapales asked was given by uncle Bob.

This fight is history in the making for both fighters as a win by Tapales would make him the only Filipino to have unified the four prestigious belts and on the other hand, Inoue will be making buzz across the boxing world as the unified champion in two weight divisions in just two fights.

It's just good to note that finally this fight has already a schedule.

He needs everything to prepare for this fight, a great honor if ever he manages to upset the monster in his own land. I think he's really
trying to develop that confidence and his skill-sets to matchup against Inoue.

Though his chance of winning remains the same, being an underdog gives him that desire to prove himself and try to outshine his opponents.

Just the same with you. Hopefully, he won't overstrain himself and instead of giving him an additional winning chance, it might cause him
to lose right away.

He do know the risks and its impossible that he wont really be taking up some control or moderation on how he should really be handling himself in talks about training. Stressing yourself will really be putting up some possibilities or danger for some injury but if you wont really be that making yourself that much of engagement or extreme training then you wont really be that able to face up those risks and it is really just that good to have a longer month preparation rather than on having a rush one. If he had been training for 3-4 months then it does really shows on how he serious on tending to beat up Inoue. He does know that there's some upperhand compared into his fighting capability but of course you wont really be that just making things simply letting them do on what they do want.  Smiley

I don't know if this is a great selection specially for Tapales as Filipinos celebrated Christmas very early and wanted to be with their family on this momentous occasion. But I guess Tapales will have to sacrifice more on this end if he wanted to upset Inoue and fight on December 26, and not celebrating Christmas with his family but instead really training very hard for this fight.

On any sports or competition then having those possible upsets could really happen in a match and this is something it is really that very normal and cant really remove out the possibilities that heavily favorite would be beaten up by the underdog but totally whose the underdog on this fight? Knowing that Tapales is also a champion on this division. It did really just turn out that Inoue had just recently won that 2 belts and now trying out to unify those belts and aiming for glory and of course it would really be aiming for that record. It isnt really just that surprising that Inoue is really that heavily favorite on here considering that he's still undefeated and
he wont really be called "The monster" for nothing. It is really just that there would really be those avid fans who do really expect that Tapales could really give out a good shot for this upcoming match.
Upset? Possible but we shouldn't really remove the idea that Inoue is really that prepping for this fight too. He knows on what at stake on which it isnt really just talking about the belts that could be possibly be snatched
but also he would definitely be trying out to protect his undefeated title which i could say that this is the most important feat.
Just like on Mayweather then there's really a different essence if we do speak on retiring on being having no experience of defeat and this is something that one would really be protecting.

The fight is already that fast approaching and it is really that giving that kind of excitement whether this year would really be that getting in favor to them or not. Only one would really be that declared winner and will really be taking all those belts on which fighter would be the best on this division.

Unifying match is always been that interesting but pretty much sure that majority will really be that interested to see Inoue win on this one via TKO
but i highly doubt that because Tapales looks like a tough guy.

So, Tapales should probably focus more on studying Inoue's training and preparing accordingly.

I think they are of different personality though, maybe this is just to hype that fight and give him some psychological advantage. As we all know boxers wanted to promote and hype their fight to the point of trash talking their opponents.

He had gotten a sparring mate already like Magsayo and Astrolabio, so they are really focusing on this fight and taking it seriously.

For sure, he has put 110% of himself in training because he wanted to pull the biggest upset for this year if he beats Inoue. But we will see, it's good that you are motivated and have the heart, but Tapales needs to execute everything perfectly on what their strategy to beat Inoue.

That would be a great title for him. Upsetting Inoue is like an uphill battle, but there's always a possibility. We shouldn't lose our trust in Tapales because he is only few of the Filipino champions now. I have to say that Tapales isn't as hyped as Casimero because some fans think that it should be Casimero who will be fighting Inoue. But a win here will certainly put him at the top and make him the best in the super bantamweight division. It would be a huge setback for Inoue if that possibility becomes a reality.
