I'm starting to have mixed feelings about what Tapales has been doing lately. It seems like he's moving away from being a humble boxer and trying to imitate what Casimero has been doing. I understand that he's training hard, but maybe he should keep his words to himself and just focus all his energy into training.

Calling himself a "nightmare" for Inoue sounds a bit funny because no amount of trash talk is likely to disrupt Inoue's focus.

So, Tapales should probably focus more on studying Inoue's training and preparing accordingly.

I think they are of different personality though, maybe this is just to hype that fight and give him some psychological advantage. As we all know boxers wanted to promote and hype their fight to the point of trash talking their opponents.

He had gotten a sparring mate already like Magsayo and Astrolabio, so they are really focusing on this fight and taking it seriously.

For sure, he has put 110% of himself in training because he wanted to pull the biggest upset for this year if he beats Inoue. But we will see, it's good that you are motivated and have the heart, but Tapales needs to execute everything perfectly on what their strategy to beat Inoue.

That's just how it is, man. Boxers who engage in trash talk tend to get more attention. While Tapales might not naturally be that boastful, he's probably following the orders of his promoter. Marketing the fight is crucial, and this kind of promotion is designed to make the fight more interesting, attract a crowd, and boost potential PPV sales if there is one.

I'm certain that winning is their top priority. So, they must focus on studying Inoue's techniques. While Inoue might have more powerful punches, you know, one punch can change the complexion of the fight. That's what Tapales needs to be prepared for.

The bottom line here is, Tapales keeps saying he'll be Inoue's nightmare. Well, he's got to prove it, right? That's why he's training his heart out because it's now or never. I mean, this is the biggest fight of his life, and he should leave no stone unturned in preparing for it.

This isn't just any regular unification fight because he's the underdog, and Inoue is this super popular boxer. If Tapales manages to pull it off, that's going to get him worldwide attention, and of course, the Philippines will benefit from that if it happens as it's another "Proud Filipino here" moments.

Biggest fight for Tapales indeed and i could that he is so serious in this upcoming fight as he already trained 3 months ago in the US and now he is back in the Philippines training in the highlands of Baguio City with Astrolabio as his main sparring partner.

Biggest fight and the biggest paycheck in his entire career thus far so even if Tapales loses, he would still smile no matter what the judges say as long as he is fairly compensated for this fight.
Stamina building. The air in that place is very thin and I bet they are trying to do that because they expect the fight to take longer. Well, Marlon Tapales is a technical fighter so he might use his talents to keep on avoiding Inoue's haymakers. This is good for Tapales, he is preparing nonstop and I wish more Filipinos would support him, after all, he worked hard for it.
I would bet for him as my support for him. Sure, Inoue is a heavy favorite but I am a Filipino and I'd love to see him win this match. I consider it my support for him and of course, being an underdog has its perks too, better profits if he wins this match and it won't matter if it's a decision or a knockout as long as he takes all that belt and creates history for our country.

That's certainly a downside, but not a huge one, considering he's going to make a good amount of money from the fight. However, it's clear he's not thinking about the money right now. The fact that he's training so intensely shows how determined he is to win. Most boxing fans don't believe he'll come out on top, and even some Filipino fans have doubts about his ability to beat Inoue. So, it's not just inspiration that's driving Tapales; he's facing a serious challenge as well.

The fact that the fight is taking place in Japan, in front of thousands of Inoue's fans, could potentially lead to a significant disappointment for them. Perhaps Tapales might bring some form of vindication for Casimero, given that the latter has often been a victim of unfair treatment while fighting in Japan, although he hasn't lost a fight there yet. It's undoubtedly a dangerous challenge for Tapales, and Inoue losing to him could derail his path to achieving success akin to Manny Pacquiao.

It's a tough road for Tapales, knowing that Inoue is unbeatable from his homeland. He needed to put everything. Here, the stake is not just
the belts but the pride in between these 2 nations.

Inoue beats Donaire twice while Casimero missed that opportunity to face Inoue after losing his belts before the fight might be scheduled between them.

Now, it's Tapales chance to try Inoue and not just an ordinary fight but unifying all the belts and be that one to be the best from this division.

So currently Marlon Tapales is training hard in the US. He is sparring with former champion Mark Magsayo. Maybe it is beneficial to test his strength and toughness since Magsayo is big and is a hard puncher. But other than that, Magsayo is not the ideal sparring partner for Tapales. Tapales needs to spar someone who is like or can replicate Inoue who is small but quick, explosive, and has a high IQ.

Yes, maybe Tapales camp wanted to see how he can take big punches from Mark Magsayo and feel everything. So this training is more of the punch resistance, and they are going to see how Tapales will react if hit my Magsayo to replicate somewhat of the power of Inoue. If Tapales can't take it, then he will have a problem as boxers can't train how to have a solid chin. Although there could be exercise like strengthening their neck.

Tapales might relocate his next stage of training to Baguio, Philippines. It is a high-altitude location and has nearly the same weather as Japan so it should be good. Former world title challenger Vincent Astrolabio and undefeated prospect Carl Jammes Martin already said they are willing to help Tapales through sparring.

No one can really replicate the style of Inoue. But if Astrolabio or even Martin can at least emulate then it's good for Tapales. At least though every one is willing to help Tapales and train very hard against Inoue because they know it's going to be very though for him. So every help is appreciate. And it's typical of Filipino culture though, the are going to help whatever way they can to boost Tapales chance.

Just a normal gesture for a boxer to say that because if he became so silent then maybe he cannot create a hype for his self. I'm also sure that he feel the pressure for fighting Inoue since he know that this is a huge challenge for him knowing that this guy is a K.O artist and a opponent which is hard to defeat. He really trained for this fight so well since he really need to do that because if he can able to defeat Inoue in this match for sure there's a huge lift up on his career and he will be the first boxer to defeat this hype japanese monster in a match.

This is not really a regular unification fight its because many boxing fans predicts that Tapales will lost in the hands of Inoue so he need to prove to this guys that there's no easy on this match and make sure that he can give a good fight or able to win to bring a glory to his flag and have revenge to his fellow country men defeated by Inoue.

Yup, Inoue's power punches can bring Tapales to kiss the canvass just like how Donaire ends his rematch against the monster.
like what you said, it's tough to find the right strategy, but he Tapales needed that.

For now, the delay of the schedule will give him time to prepare and to continue working with whatever his camp thinks that will help him.

Something that may allow him to stand out and surprise Inoue. Whatever it is or whatever strategy may it be, he needs to build that
confidence as in overall stats, Inoue really got a far advantage.

ATM, Tapales is busy with his training and last time i've heard is that he is in Baguio City and he is tapping Vincent Astrolabio as his main sparring partner, this is a big help for Tapales since Astrolabio is also a world-class boxer. Tapales is known to adjust to whatever style his opponent may bring so I think Inoue might be surprised if what they saw on tape might be different from actual.

Though not official rumors had it that this fight would take place on December 26, right after Christmas Day.

Tapales needs to give it his all in what's the most significant fight of his boxing career. Perhaps Inoue is underestimating him, but Tapales should use that as motivation to work even harder and prove that he's a world-class fighter. I can't even fathom how Japanese fans would react if their beloved hero were to be knocked out by an underrated champion.

Personally, I think it's within the realm of possibility, but when I set aside my Filipino bias and look at it objectively, my gut feeling is that Inoue might secure an easy knockout. However, I don't want to undermine Tapales' dedication and effort. He's working relentlessly for what's undoubtedly the most challenging battle of his career, and I'll wholeheartedly support him.

I also can't imagine how the fans will react if they see their hero kissing the floor and suffered from a unexpected KO, though Tapales chance
is really low but I like what you mentioned about being motivated and try upsetting Inoue.

In this sport, we all know that it's not impossible for the heavy favorite to lose the fight, just a single solid lucky punch that converts
Tapales road to win will take his name on top!

Upsets, that's what we call them, and they can happen in any combat sport, not just in boxing. Pacquiao wasn't always the favorite before he became a legend; he had to challenge and defeat formidable opponents to become the only eight-division world champion. So, it's entirely possible for Tapales, especially since he's putting in the hard work, trying to find Inoue's weaknesses and exploit them.

However, please take note that fans often base their expectations on past results, and Inoue, who is currently a top pound-for-pound boxer, is naturally expected to win. But remember, it's just an expectation.

Upsets do happen, but they're not a frequent occurrence. So, as a bettor, you'd usually pick the better fighter to win. However, when you're supporting your fellow countryman boxer, it's a different story. You might not objectively assess who the better fighter is, as your decision could be slightly biased.

Tapales has the history of making a upset though, like when he won against Akhmadaliev. So he really knows what it is going to be mentally going to the fight being a underdog and no one expects you to mean. So I think this is already a advantage for Tapales, at least his confidence is very high, and from what we read, he truly believes in himself that he can beat the Monster.

So it's just a matter on how he will execute, his team could have a perfect plan laid-out already, picks the right sparring partner, maybe someone of a big puncher and see how Tapales can absorb it because we all know how Inoue's power is. But even if they have a tight perfect plan, if Tapales can't execute it because Inoue is too good, then I don't know how Tapales can win here, just saying.
Did make out some search out of that fight which thanks for that: https://youtu.be/Zi7QVPbWZ90?t=734
So the fight did really end up with split decision which it isnt really that bad since there's no KO ending but still a win a win. Tapales would really be needing up to some changes
which i could say that he should be working up with his defense basing up on the fight observation but when it comes to power then it there but he should really be careful
with those Inoue's body blows because you would definitely be putting up yourself on danger if you do just neglect out or being that careless.

Upsets could really happen and i dont really remove the possibility but of course Inoue's team arent really that making those things to happen.
Both teams are really that in preparation on beating up and using up and taking advantage on whatever weaknesses that they do have.

It was a great fight by Tapales against Akhmadaliev. That time Tapales is the challenger but he sure acted like the champion and then dictates the fight in his own term. And then his strategy, it's not that bad though, I mean every time he will hit Akhmadaliev, he will go close to him and hug him which makes the impression to the judges that he is winning the round.

And that's why there are no KO, it was more of a chess match and it was Tapales who really executed their brilliant game plan. And Akhmadaliev wasn't able to adjust, although he has his moments, Tapales has gain momentum already that the judges give him the fight. But as you have said, there's still no blue print on how to beat Inoue as he doesn't have any weaknesses that Tapales might exploit.

Totally agree with this on which it doesnt matter if you would really be that losing your bet which you would really be that showing up that kind of support specially into your countrymen on which it would really be nor surprise that there would really be bettors or people who would really be having that kind of approach in regarding to this. Even myself did really have some experience on making out such bets specially if its really that my countrymen whose really be that fighting. Speaking about winning then lets be honest that we are really that indeed rooting  for some upsets on which even on the slimmest chance but those hopes is really here or something that do talks about expectation for beating up the favorite. On this case, i do see that Tapales could really be having the chance
yet he wont really be that be called a champion for nothing on this said division. It is really just that Inoue is really that heavily favorite and tons or most people is anticipating
that this would really be only an easy match for him.

That's what we call smart money, specially for big whales in boxing, most of the time they will really bet big on the favorite, millions of dollars. And in this case Inoue has proven that he is a great boxer and so majority of us here see that he could be the eventual winner although we haven't seen them stepping in the ring yet. And with that, even if the odds doesn't look for us regular bettors, but for whales, they will take that one and make a risk. But it's not a assurance, that's why it's gambling, we've seen odds as 1.01 and someone big betting on it and then eventually lost.

But maybe for us who don't have the big pockets, and obviously supporting our own boxers here, why not throw a couple for Filipino Tapales. He is going to be a huge underdog and as we have seen, sometimes all you need is that one lucky punch. So our mind might say, Inoue, but being a Filipino, we will support Marlon Tapales no matter what, just like when we supported him against Akhmadaliev.

At least let's discuss the real odds here so we know what we're talking about. A betting odds of 1.01 isn't going to happen, especially in a unification fight where both fighters hold two belts that they're looking to unify. Such odds would be quite disrespectful to the other champion if Inoue had them.

Odds coming from this website https://www.oddschecker.com/us/boxing-mma/boxing/naoya-inoue-v-marlon-tapales

Suggest that Inoue is -1000, means 1.10 in decimal odds, 10% of your bet is your winning if you bet on him and he'll win.

So the question is, will the smart money going to the odds like that? I mean, if they truly believe Inoue will win easily, it could be an easy 10% return on their millions of dollars in bets. They're risking a significant amount for a relatively lower reward, but if they have absolute confidence in the outcome, I think they'll bet on this one.
