I am surprised no one is talking about this here yet, I guess it's probably because no one really knows who DK Yoo is(even I don't know who he is).

I saw the announcement for this fight in my social media newsfeed but don't bother to create a thread on this forum as I'm not a fan of exhibition matches because most of the bookies won't cover exhibition fights but on the side, it will also be good to see Manny back in the ring again to see if where he is at now in terms of speed and power or can he knock out his opponent.

For sure DK Yoo's (don't know him also) popularity will skyrocket by just facing Manny and also his followers will increase depending on the outcome of this fight.

It's an exhibition match and even if Pacquiao said that he'll give his best on this match, there's still the doubt playing on our minds if he will since this is just that type of match.
No boxer will claim to be more easy on their opponent, of course this is an exhibition match and for the purpose of making money as well.
We know Pacquiao is a legend and having this match against DK Yoo is quiet an obvious set-up. They both old, so maybe this is just for entertainment purpose and again for the money. DK also have a match like this last year, probably he wants to experience more and Manny is ok with the deal.
Yeah, it's for entertainment for raising funds for charities and that's a good thing.

So, there's no need to exceed the expectation of most of us and just have fun with the match. Whatever will be the result of it, there's no hard feelings for both of them.

They're both professional people and they're just trying to help people with the fund and as well as for the entertainment and joy that they can pass on through the boxing ring.
and also this is a Big Break for DK Yoo as admit it or not? he is not that popular at all so having this fight even a exhibition box? his name will be added some as this is Manny Pacquiao that he is facing in the ring.

But sad that I think there is no Bookies for this as exhibition mostly not gaining many bets , hope there will be interested site to bring this as gambling material.

They should put Manny and Mayweather on the same ring for an exhibition match, and I could safely say, it could become the grandest exhibition match ever.

I believe there is no boxing organization that can afford that fight Cheesy Mayweather has earned 100 millions for a fight against McGregor, about 50 millions for an exhibition fight against Don Moore, google say that almost 100 millions against Logan Paul, 30 millions against Deji and about 35 against Asakura. Wikipedia say that Floyd get 400 millions (and Pacquiao 100) for that fight. And for a second fight he would ask even more. His appetites are huge. How much do you think will ask for an exhibition fight ? A billion? Except UAE sheikhs I think no one is able to pay so much for 8*3min fight.

The reason why nobody bats an eye over this exhibition match is mainly because, Manny's opponent is a nobody is the world of boxing, plus the guy is a martial artist? Well, boxing is different. Any guy who grew up with boxing professionally have almost no reason to lose against anyone who's into martial arts or mix martial arts in a boxing match.
(....)
Exactly. This is something like a Floyd Mayweather versus Conor Mcgregor before. But this fight of Manny Pacquiao vs DK Yoo is just somehow a friendly game without hype or some dramas just to make their fight exciting.
Manny Pacquiao for this fight is overpower compared to this mix martial art fighter. I'm going with Manny Pacquiao here. Pacquiao is still the power even though he already retired. Now he is not a Senator anymore, for sure he got more time for trainings and for his physical body.

It was expected. After he retired, I knew he would come back for an exhibition match. Many people thought it would happen and definitely here it is.

However, it is Manny, he was one of the most entertaining fighter before, but his exhibition matches today would be way less interesting to the boxing fans than before.
So, yeah that pretty much sums up everything.

They should put Manny and Mayweather on the same ring for an exhibition match, and I could safely say, it could become the grandest exhibition match ever.

Yes, this is for pure entertainment, for the fans to wanted to see Manny again in the boxing ring. We all know that he is retired, but boxing fans still wants to see him. Who wouldn't? he bring us a lot of good fights during his prime good up straight up war inside the ring that's why he got so many fans and respect from the boxer themselves.

DK also have a match like this last year, probably he wants to experience more and Manny is ok with the deal.

This is Manny's first time in exhibition match, so yeah, he is ok with that. And as reported, the proceeds will go to the Philippines so it's all good. What's exciting is what Manny's or who is the next in line for him in the exhibition match. For sure many former boxers or Youtuber like Paul brothers will want to face him.

So he's following the footsteps of retired boxing professionals who can't really hang up their gloves hehe. I find this unfortunate but I guess he still needed all that exposure to be relevant. The good side here is that the money generated from the event will be donated to Ukraine's relief efforts.
Better than those boxers who do really pocketed out all of the money that they had earned on an exhibition match. This is just like on what Tyson had done on his amount earned on a charity  which is something commendable for a retired legend to do so.Same goes for Pacquiao whom do consider on doing the same.
Its not bad honestly but just like the rest been saying that this is really lacking some hype yet i dont even know on whom he would be fighting.
If its an another known personality then we might already noticed this earlier or directly.

Pac is a politician so it's also a public show. He is also a businessman, there were articles that he owns a lot of businesses in his country so that's a very big factor for him to just give away his money. He doesn't need the money for he can survive and countless of his descendants in the future.

The fight had been mentioned in some boxing threads but this is an exhibition fight that also promotes Korean youtuber.
Its a win situation for that Korean Youtuber considering that he isnt really that much that popular
But surprisingly had 655k subscribers as of this writing https://www.youtube.com/c/DKYOO

With having a match with Pacquiao then he might boost up even more his channel since we know on how large the fan base of Pacquiao and other boxing fans then for sure
it would really be that a win situation for him.For Pacquiao then i dont think he do need money for him to pocket on.

I don't know DK too but was said that he's a YouTuber in South Korea. Pacquiao is also in the country and have been guessing in TV shows and probably there are some commitments and meetings on the way.

IIRC, when he's on official fight and was this close to the fight night, we see him train hard and don't do stuff like those.

I think I've already saw announcement of this fight here on Bitcointalk. I think it was just few pages of discussion in boxing speculation topic and people forgot about it, because these were rumors, and few believe this fight would even happen.
I never really visited the thread, that's probably why I never knew someone posted it there and it is quite understandable that members forgot about it and are sceptical that the exhibition match would go through, I mean, even I would not believe that this fight would because if I saw it in that thread.

This fight still not listed on the bookies yet, I would bet this match is the odds for Pacquiao is worth to bet.
and I won't be surprised if it won't be listed.

Very interesting, I didn’t have any idea that he was still fighting or even thinking about doing so. I will probably tune in just because it’s well, Pacquiao.

I will forever be pissed off though that the Pacquiao Vs Mayweather fight never took place while they were both still in their prime. It’s on reason why boxing isn’t as popular as it once was. If you can’t get the two best guys to fight, there’s obviously something very wrong with your league/set up.

at his age, thinking about going back to fighting even if it's an exhibition fight and fundraising for donations is a very high risk, I wonder if people will really be watching this fight or if they will simply have little attention from people, how did they say that the money will be donated to ukraine will people just watch it because they believe it's a noble cause or because they thought the fight was really good? however this kind of exhibition fight only makes punters lose bets, does anyone know if the bookmakers will be putting this fight up for people to bet on? I personally wouldn't bet on this fight. but my guess would be that DK Yoo can win this fight, he is a self defense instructor, although also his age doesn't help much for fights, honestly why don't these guys like to retire?

I am surprised no one is talking about this here yet, I guess it's probably because no one really knows who DK Yoo is(even I don't know who he is).

anyway, Manny Pacquiao is having an exhibition match against DK Yoo in a boxing match on December 10. I am not that interested in who he is fighting but I'd still watch the fight because I want to see Pacquiao in the ring again. besides, Pacquiao said that he'd give us a "real fight"(he said in one of the articles I've read) which I hope he would actually do.

also, I saw in one of the articles that Proceeds from the event will be donated to the homeless in the Philippines and families affected in Ukraine.

Fighters like Manny Pacquiao are lucky because they can still do what they love doing after their retirement in the olden days you cannot do that, once you retire, the next thing that you can do is to become a trainer or manager, but because of the power of social media and the many promotions there are now a lot of exhibitions matches involving retired boxers, and they can still make money out of these exhibitions, and they are not going to hurt themselves.

 Grin

this has become the only job in the world where you retire and go back to fights and you don't even get hurt because it's just exhibition fights and you still make a lot of money, it's just unbelievable. the guys even give themselves the luxury of fighting again years later and even when they are almost old they are back in the fights, I wonder how a rookie who is working hard to get media attention feels when he sees all the attention the media will give these exhibition fights

Of course the boxing between Pac-Man vs DK Yoo is not a boxing worth betting on, even if it had to happen, it's a joke, even though Pac-Man said seriously against DK Yoo in the ring, DK Yoo is a martial artist, he never boxed, he's not a boxer, I'm sure in the first/second round DK Yoo will fall, if Pac-Man is serious about fighting him, except this boxing is just a drama and a joke to win prizes and money donated.

I also wonder what's behind all this, Pac-Man wants to fight people who really never boxed, what a misleading question to answer, even so this time boxing is really curious to watch, funny.

I expect this is easy fight for Pacquiao even though his skills is already declining, but DK Yoo isn't purely a boxer.
I fear for Pacquiao who is old already and supposed to be considering retirement from fighting and not trying to kick off his boxing career again. If he still wants to be involved in boxing, I am thinking that it would have been more proper for people in his age range to turn into coaches for younger people from their country who see him as a role model and will want to have same achievement as he has. Before Pacquiao quit boxing to focus on his political career, he lost a fight, we know he is a great fighter, there is nothing to prove. Underestimating DK Yoo can be to his bad, DK Yoo who is a fresh face in the boxing industry will want to enter with a bang and make his name known, he knows that if he can defeat Pacquiao, It can become the start of a great career for him.

This is still interesting, especially to Manny's believers and supporters. We all miss seeing him in the boxing ring so though it was just an exhibition match, it will still bring back the old excitement that we had before every time Manny fought. I guess DK will still be a tough opponent but knowing Manny, I'm sure that he won't miss this chance to prove himself in the ring again.

Of course, a strange choice on the part of Manny, it's not clear what kind of fight it will be, rather it's just a show like it was between Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley, why Pacquiao comes to mind of course money, but is the reputation worth it, I hope it will be a fair fight and Manny will knock out DK Yoo.

Exciting fight considering we haven't seen Manny in the ring ages now and the cause was really nice. I just hope that it will be a good fight but was skeptical on what DK Yoo will bring inside the ring because the last unprofessional fight he did was not that flashy. I think he'll just be a main dish to Manny if we will expect a good fight from the People's Champ.

I'm not that well verse on this kind of fight but sometimes like this exhibition match is scripted on who will gonna win. But regardless of that conspiracy theory, It will be shameful for Manny if he will lose this kind of match since he have a good professional record and other Boxer on his caliber that done this like Mayweather keeps winning on this match.

I'm not aware on this match and I just recently watch the viral video of Pacman that being guest on Korean variety show. This maybe the reason why he is on Korea doing guesting. Haha

Its big shame for Pacman to lose this but I expect that this fight will be in favor with him since somehow I'm thinking that this fight will be scripted and they will hail Pacquaio as a winner since he is legendary already. But let see maybe my perception is wrong and they can show great fight even if this is only a exhibition match.

Losing? I don't think that Manny will lose, specially in an exhibition fight. Otherwise, even if this fight will not be in their official records, it might hurt his future plans for this kind of match.

The closest that we can see if maybe a draw, but for sure Manny just like Floyd will try to go and make this a very competitive fight and see how DK Yoo will take his best punch.

pacquiao could be rusty by now. It is an exhibition fight making this just a showcase of their talent and must en in draw. there isn't going to be a score points.

this fight is just to produce funds for helping the people in the Philippines. consider him a philanthropist as he had been helping his fellow country men countless times.
