I think it has been discuss here a bit, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/boxing-speculation-odds-and-predictions-5370631

But yes, nevertheless it deserved a separate thread since this is the legendary Manny Pacquiao first exhibition match against a Youtuber.

And of course, everyone is interested to see Manny in the ring again, after all he is one of the greatest, but he had to retired from professional boxing. Good to hear that the proceeds will go the homeless in the Philippines, that is good to hear the Manny is helping his fellow countryman in whichever he can.

As someone who grew up watching Manny Pacquiao, this is nothing but a blessing to me. To see him in the ring once again, despite in an exhibition match, is just a blessing and a privilege for everyone. I just really doubt if there is another fighter like Pacquiao- that speed, tenacity, aggressiveness, and footwork! Man, it is just art fighting in the boxing ring!

Honestly, when I first heard about this fight, I thought to myself that it will not be explosive as his previous fights. But I gained respect when I found out that the purpose of this fight is raising money to donate for Ukraine. Regardless, I will definitely support and watch this fight.

We all know that he is very generous, so he deserves to make more money so he can continue to help the people that need him. Well, let us not talk about that, this is fun and we should be excited to watch this fight.

This is for the fans who wanted him to be in the ring, though it's not the same way or approach that we really know him as legend but there are still fans who wanted to witness him fighting, tickets and viewers sales will help both performers to gain money they are aiming to give portions of that profits to their supported charities a good way of giving back their blessings in life.

No, I think this is for the money he can get from the fight.  Fans and charity seconds.  I do not think Manny Pacquiao fights because his fans wanted to.  He fights because of the reward money he can get from the deal.

Quote
By the way, Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva was a great fight, it was an exhibition fight but it's exciting to watch.
We saw blood and solid punches. Both fighters are eager to win, but Paul is much dominated on this fight. Silva is not the same in terms
of his fighting form, not really converting his punches.

Silva looks worn out even at the 1st round.  He really looked like a boxer who doesn't want to throw any punches to his opponent or was it his style?

I wonder if this is an exhibition match, and therefore to a greater extent a contractual match, then how in this case you can bet on it, because this is manipulation and insider in its purest form and relying on Pacquiao's skill here is very reckless.

I thought these kind of exhibition fights bookmakers didn't open the market for people to bet because the results are combined or at least that's what most people assume or say, but even if you put an option for people to bet In this fight it will be more difficult to predict the result than if they were fighting seriously and I doubt that there are many people who want to bet on this fight, does anyone know if the bookmakers will put this fight for people to place bets on?

I dug a little bit more on his background and an article have just made regarding his background because I bet there's a lot of people that are curious about him and his name keeps on popping on the search engines just to know his record because why would the legendary Manny Pacquiao will choose him if he's not that skillful to fight on. I found out that DK YOO is famous in South Korea as he used to do a lot of exhibition fights against known fighters in their country and surely this will be streamed by PPV, no doubt.

And this is DK Yoo's words against the Filipino champ as way to sell the fight more, usual words to market the fight but I do hope he can back his words Grin
Quote
DK Yoo has a bold prediction ahead of his exhibition fight with Manny Pacquiao in December. The Korean believes that he will ‘win with the jab’ against the experienced Filipino southpaw.
The Korean has been working on his jab in the Los Angeles gym and thinks Pacquiao will have no answer for this weapon.
https://asianmma.com/dk-yoo-ill-win-with-the-jab-against-manny-pacquiao/
Pacquiao will give a good lesson for DK Yoo that would make DK Yoo cry and regret what he done before, we're don't see any boxing skill from DK Yoo, IMO he's an amateur even though he's an martial art coach. Not all coach are have a good skills when he jump into a real fight, some people only can teach and share their knowledge.

Expect that because Manny Pacquiao will likely show no mercy against DK Yoo as he also wanted to have an explosive fight in his return in the ring. I reckon that the latter will not last long if Pacquiao will let him taste the true punch of a legendary boxer and to be honest, I think we will see a stoppage on this one because I really don't think that DK Yoo have some talent that can keep up with Manny Pacquiao's skills.

Manny though is known to hold up his power even during his latter part of his boxing days specially after he became a Christian. So most likely, I'm not seeing him giving DK his full power. Maybe few touch up here and there and show his speed with the fans and that's it. Maybe Manny will win by decision in this fight I reckon. Most important thing is that everyone will enjoy this fight, seeing the legendary boxer again.

Yes, you certainly got a point. Manny Pacquiao changed ever since he became a Christian, he is not that type of boxer anymore who do not show any mercy but aside from that, he is also known to up-hold his words. He himself said that their fight won't look like an exhibition fight, let's just trust him for that because this is his return, maybe he got some few surprise to us.

I wonder if this is an exhibition match, and therefore to a greater extent a contractual match, then how in this case you can bet on it, because this is manipulation and insider in its purest form and relying on Pacquiao's skill here is very reckless.
I think this is just a like charity event, since it was reported that the funds raised in this event probably from broadcast rights and ticket sales will be donated to the homeless in the Philippines as well as the to Ukrainians, I don't think any sportsbook will hold this bet.

Manny Pacquiao is known in Philippines as a helpful person he even gives 20 dollars each people when he visited every place , not a big money but still with plenty of people it will be a big amount to spend.

So there  is no doubt that if this fight will be for charitable  plan? then I believe I will support him .

because it is very rare that we will see him again to  fight even  in an exhibition like this .

If this becomes successful there will be more exhibition matches for Manny Pacquiao, he is still healthy and can still knock people out, and of course, people still want to see him fight,  I read that his opponent is also goodf and very popular in Korea let's see if how this fight will go and we'll compare it to Mayweather's exhition fight.

But we don't know the rules of this exhibition fight.
Will there be judges and will they proclaim a winner?
Each exhibition fight has their own rules to follow, because it is not a usual professional boxing fight.
But if they will proclaim a winner, I'll bet definitely for Manny here.
As Manny is doing this charity, it may end up as a draw. Let's see how this fight will end up..

Exhibition matches sometimes doesn't have a winner.

Since the goal is to entertain people, both parties surely has a deal on how will be their performance on the ring.

Scripted at most cases because the goal is to gather profits.

They will maybe adds up some exciting exchanges of punches but like wise still scripted to prevent any damages from both parties, and I see your point in terms of potential profits they are really aiming for that, the reason why we will hear some words from both camps maybe some harsh word or maybe some promises from both fighters to attract attentions from the fans.

As far as the rules go, it is mentioned that they will follow the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition match.

Quote
What are the rules for Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo?

Similar to Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr., the fight will be eight, two-minute rounds.

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/manny-pacquiao-dk-yoo-watch-hologram-press-conference/c57ednnk2xhfemgamrsptirc

And with that, there are 3 judges in that fight which ironically score the fight by a draw.

So who knows, this could be the same outcome, no winner, just for fun.

That fight ends with a draw if my memory serve me right, that's really tricky and for those who are confident to bet for Pacquiao
for sure, they will be disappointed knowing that there's no way he will lose or any possible draw for an outcome with his high IQ and
skills during his time from this sport.

Against someone who doesn't have any real experienced it's a trap a good manipulation.. hahaha

I don't find any sites mention if their fight will have judges, this site only mention the rules about rounds and how long the each round. If the fight doesn't have any judges, this mean the only way to win is by knock out, so if the fight goes to distance the fight wouldn't be scored.

IMO most of the judges only score for draw since they're only want to protect their boxers record.

I agree, Manny is an experience boxer he knows how control his power spike so I believe that there is no reason why Manny will not win this fight even that this is just an exhibition, but I a really wish that Manny should stop playing boxing now I am more concerned bout his health and don't want to get bad news about him in the future so I really really want him to retire.
The man Manny, although a christian now is a perfect peg in the right hole. His record of performance, wherein he makes boxing more interesting and without the animalistic aggressive KO goal-like tendencies, is what earned him this privilege. The fight is no doubt going to be interesting and although Dk might land a few punches, he wouldn't stand a chance to KO the champion, Manny.
I also think Manny Pacquiao is on a retirement path, and a fight like this is more beneficial to DK in terms of the pointers he would pick up from Manny. It would be beneficial to Manny in terms of the joy derived in doing a charitable deed with his talent and style.
Whichever way, it would be win-WIN to all parties involved.

I'm assuming that Yoo is well-prepared accepting Manny's punches, I'm not sure if how it will be look like in terms of good entertainment, just wanted to quote it here that Manny aside from being a politics also enter movie industry, are we going to expect him to perform as a fighter or as actor that will provide entertainment here?

This depends on the deal agreed upon.  If the deal includes a script on how the match should be played then most probably Manny will perform as an actor portraying a boxer in the match.

As fighter, oh well, not sure if Yoo can handle those solid combos of Manny, maybe 1-2 rounds if it's a real punch from Manny is enough for Yoo.

Let see if how these upcoming fights will be looking like, still aiming to see Manny to make some unexpected punches that will surprise Yoo..

We never had seen the toughness of DK Yoo, so we will never know but one thing is certain and that is DK Yoo is the heavier boxer of the two. So I think, there is a possibility that DK Yoo can handle the bombs from Manny's punches.

I also notice that after he became christian most of his fight ended with decision, unlike before he start praising back then he is aggressive throwing punches and aiming for a KO, though that's already from the past and the upcoming one is just an exhibition but still a hard punch from money will really affect Yoo as he is not a pro-boxer.

It is possible that Manny's opponent is getting tougher and I think the result has nothing to do with his change of religion.
