Update September 19, 2019

Sportsbet Odds:

A slight changes in odds. Porter, Shawn odds keeps increasing and Spence, Errol still favourites as usual of bettors.

1.08? holy cow Cheesy

Much better to just watch his fight and not to bet on Spence. On the contrary, if people wanted to see some upsets and think that Porter has the balls and heart to bring the fight to Spence and not give him some room to create his sweet sport, then the odds for Porter is very good, in my opinion.

LOL, it looks like we already know who will win in this fight, this isn't an attractive one based on the line, it could be a one sided fight fully dominated by Spence. Manny vs Thurman was way more exciting than this as it opens as Thurman as the favorites but close to the scheduled fight, the odds was flip and Manny has become the favorites.

Usyk Oleksandr vs Spong Tyrone

1.02 10.61 (https://www.optibet.lv/en/sportsbook/ boxing > Matchups) - that what I call a total mismatch Cheesy

I find this kind of matches very intense. One can do a relax boxing and get an injury, while other will show 200% and still will lose.

Sportsbet odds:

What an odds for Porter.I might consider to put up some bets on him but my views on whose gonna win will be on Spence.
Just like what been said above when it comes to fast jabs and reach, spence do have it and i love how he humbly said this line “I’m definitely not underestimating Shawn Porter,” but i do see different or the other way around with this words.lol

Yeah, such a huge difference on betting odds for the two. I think if Porter can make this an upset and defeat Spence many would win big. Anyways, Spence is on a different level than Porter so I guess I would go put my money on Spence with this match.

It's not wise to put your money for a chance to win 9% of your bet, I would just have to let it go if I were you, just enjoy the match, it's not worth betting at all. Porter may win, that's likely but your are risking your money if upset could happen, if you really want to enjoy and you have a little belief that porter could upset Spence here, go bet on the other side.

Errol Spence: I Knew If I Couldn't Get Pacquiao, I'd Get Porter

Quote
“I knew there was a chance I wasn’t gonna get Pacquiao,” Spence (25-0, 21KOs) admitted during a recent media conference call in discussing his upcoming clash with Porter (30-2-1, 17KOs). “I mean, Pacquiao was the bigger name and the bigger fight, so of course I wanted that fight.”

“Shawn Porter is a champion, too. He has a belt, so I definitely wanted to unify the titles. I always knew that if I couldn’t get Pacquiao that there was a good chance I was going to get Shawn Porter.”

It was all but confirmed

https://www.boxingscene.com/errol-spence-i-knew-if-i-get-pacquiao-id-get-porter--142664

I think there is a possibility that we can see Pacquiao vs Spence Jr. in the future. But first Errol needs to get ride of Porter because it's not going to an easy fight for him, and after that, he can inject himself in a Pacquaio clash and possible the biggest paycheck of his career.

It looks like there are more hype in this fight as expected.

Spence-Porter FOX Countdown Show Drew 604,000 Viewers

According to Nielsen Media Research figures released Tuesday, an average of 604,000 viewers watched FOX’s live airing of “PBC Countdown: Errol Spence Jr. Vs. Shawn Porter” on network television. The 30-minute program aired on the East Coast late Saturday night, following FOX’s live telecast of a college football game, Penn State’s 45-13 win over Buffalo, that aired in prime time.

This is big numbers I do hope that it will reflect on the actual fight and draw close to that numbers as well. It means that boxing is still on the mainstream although we don't have Mayweather as top US boxing attraction.

I doubt that will translate to PPV buys, nobody really cares about Porter to be honest, people had high hopes early in his career but he never really reached his full potential. Now he's slightly older and has been beaten odds of him being great are pretty low.

TBH, even Errol Spence isn't that big of a name, not too many people care about what happens in the lower weight classes, unless it's Canelo.

Let's see mate, his numbers if I'm not mistaken was around 360,000 PPV vs Mikey Garcia.

Fury vs Wilder is around 325,000.

So probably doing 400,000-500,000 PPV is not bad after all right?

This is gonna be a great match,  Porter fan here because I love underdog and I like to have Spence his first loss because this is so favorite to win in this fight. I just like to try my luck betting on the dog as the return is bigger, in boxing nowadays upsets happen, yes, if Porter will win, this could be an upset because Porter is undervalued in this fight.

According to - https://www.boxingscene.com/spence-porter-fox-countdown-show-drew-604000-viewers--142428

Most odds-makers have installed the unbeaten Spence as at least a 9-1 favorite over Porter.
Great odds for the underdog.

Whoever wins here might ask for Pacquiao's match. After all, most of the boxing fights are for money. And they are striking the iron while it is hot. Pacman is no doubt can attract a sizeable number of crowd to earn big money.

This is a great motivation for the two fighters, the opportunity to fight Pacquiao because any Pacquiao fight against a young fighter is always a mega-fight, every fighter in this generation wants a piece of Pacquiao because everyone here wants to be the one to retire the great Manny Pacquiao.

I'm reading all the comments here and it seems everybody here is voting for Errol Spence to win over Porter, I will not take Porter for granted because he is a very aggressive fighter, he actually fights like Mosley, he can negotiate the distance where Mikey Garcia fail he will succeed, because he has more guts than Garcia.

Oohh so the rumor about Spence vs. Pacquiao remains as a rumor.

Looks like I have to follow this match. The positive comments about Spence is overflooding the discussion but I say that let us wait until the match has come and done.

Errol Spence Jr. has a clear advantage over Shawn Porter.  The match will be interesting in a sense that Spence being an IBF welterweight champion while  Porter has WBC welterweight title. But I think the height difference between the two many be advantage here. This will be a massive 147-pound title match which no boxing lover can afford to miss.
Same as here, I had a strong feeling that he made it and win this match. I will pick Spence Jr. If we base on the height. It's a good advantage for him.Especially the range but also it really depends on what strategy he will use to penetrate Porter and get a knockdown but also he needs to be careful because Porter is very quick as well. I can't wait the result between this fight and whos gonna win. Cheesy

Looks like the dog is undervalued much here, with that said, I'll be taking the dog by betting on Porter.
Porter has also an impressive record with 30 wins and only 2 loses, he is older but there's only slight disparity on the age gap here.

Spence is dangerous due to his high knockout record and this guy is undefeated, that's why people are rooting for him to win.
Hopefully they will be able to give a good fight, whoever wins this fight might be a good opponent of Manny in his next fight.

Height doesn't matter in Welterweight division. That division is more sensitive about maintaining weight associated with serious diet, so even how tall the boxer is, if they didn't maintain a good shape around the given weight for that division/class, boxers will have difficulty at the weigh-in and on the ring. It's more even dangerous for much taller guys. I see that height just have an advantage in lower weight division starting from Bantamweight to Featherweight since no need to put pressure on a diet since the weight requirement is easy to achieve.

And age also doesn't matter here just as you said, the gap is just small.

Porter is the underdog here but it doesn't mean he can't give Spence a hard fight. There is a chance that he might upset the much dominant Spence. Wishing you luck on your bet.

On the contrary, if you are tall then you have a reach advantage and it you know how to used this as a weapon you on your favour. But the problem is that there are fighters who don't put their reach on superior position. They just want to slug it out with the smaller guys and most of the time losses that advantage inside. Yes, Porter really knows how to used his tools that's why he win at close fight.

Spence Jr vs Porter Face to Face - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGJlNkS_sa8

Why does this look like it was shot in the 1990's?

Lol, look at the way Porter tries to say he wasn't dominated by Brook. Sure, he only won by MD, but Spence knocked Brook OUT.

Porter knows he's going to get smashed, he's just gassing for the money.

Did you see Porter's eye lit up when Spence talk about Keel Brook. He try to dodge everything but Spence is throwing everything at him and seems that Porter has no response.

We will have to wait what's going to happen here, not discounting Porter but let see if he has improved and make Spence eat his words here.

Here are the current odds for this fight

-980 Errol Spence Jr
+648 Shawn Porter

September 29 is still a long way to go, a lot of things may happen in between but I guess Errol Spence Jr is still on top of this fight. Planning to put some money on Errol Spence Jr for a quick cash but I hope the fight don't go to the distance. Its a different story if it reached the last round.
