Sweet, I did reach out to Vod to see if it was anything that I could help with. I'm glad that things were already being put into place behind the scenes. I'll check the site later, and report any feedback if needed.

Usernames with spaces in them will need some time to catch up with the updating of data, this is due to the way encoding/decoding of characters & spaces are being done now on the front-end site. Once the profile is re-parsed, it should then be searchable as normal.

I also just recently updated the OP to include a notable change I forgot, which is that profile.aspx can now handle ID's

Nice work Smiley

I also wonder if maybe links to Loyce.club can be integrated inside BPIP in future?

With that in mind, have the donation addresses been updated to your addresses rather than Vod's? Might be worth making them slightly more visible, even if it is just as a footer on every page.

Donation address has been updated: http://bpip.org/sponsor.aspx

I can run up a vanity donation address 1BPiPBPiP... using a part private wallet address if anyone is interested?

Right now the focus is on getting the site fully operational and stable. Once we get there we'll see what we can do to nag you all to pay up Wink

Cool guys I'm so happy and excited about it. But what happen with Vod? What is his role in the project? I see he is still mentioned as a creator but thats all i can find as info:

Vod needs to spend more time away from the computer, getting exercise.  :/

BPIP has not updated in some time, and all the delays were due to me.   I'm excited to see changes as they design and then implement those changes!

Vod will always be part of the BPIP team.  Smiley

Good to hear that, I can't think of BPIP without mentioning your name. Reading your last post (now it's gone but...) in the official BPIP thread , which you locked was quite disappointing, especially that part:

No sense wasting more time and (government lol) money parsing something that may disappear at any time.  :/
I can only be proud for being part of that project. I'm sure the whole community is thankful for such useful tool.
Wish you and the whole BPIP Team happy holidays Smiley

BTW I notice that the site is much faster and responsive than before. Amazing Smiley

Just like Maggiordomo, I didn't realize just how much I used BPIP for various things until it wasn't available anymore. Thanks for getting it back up and running.

A small bug report in case you were unaware: Looks like some of the Reports are still broken, namely https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=mostmerit which doesn't load at all, and https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=dt2strength which lists everyone as joint 1st place.

but it does require a large amount of effort & resources to maintain, all which come with a cost.

One thing is that I can't find this user in BPIP,
I don't know if it's a bug, or BPIP just need more time to update data.

I also just recently updated the OP to include a notable change I forgot, which is that profile.aspx can now handle ID's, so this could be a way to access this particular profile directly, by using: https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=2347750

(don't tell ibminer)

No worries, eyes are closed.  Grin

Thanks for doing this. The BPIP project is an invaluable tool in the Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III thread.

Now it was a great surprise to see it up and running today, you don't seem to rest during the Holiday, right?
Thank you. I've certainly lost some sleep and time, in general.. but, *shrug*.. it is what it is.

1. Add a neutral background like one color, to reduce traffic and it'll be easy to load on mobiles.
In addition to what suchmoon said about the throwback theme, this was also part of the reasoning behind allowing the 'show BG' option under the settings/gear icon next to the theme selection drop-down, which will remove the background from any theme selected. I will mention, however, that I think some of the fonts used on the throwback theme seem to be causing slow/sluggish response on mobile devices at the moment (which I've just noticed today, at least from my mobile device... it'll get corrected, I think it has something to do with the font change.)

Although I know nothing about databases, I offer my help in providing data to improve BPIP.
Thank you. This will definitely be kept in mind.

And, happy new year everyone!  Smiley

Choose the "throwback" theme, works ok on slow connections.

2. If it was possible have a custom sorting of the lists of 1000 Most active, or Most merited, etc. like based on Profile Name,Value , Position, Registration Date, Last Active, Last Parsed?

I've been secretly working (don't tell ibminer) on an API that might work better for these kinds of data queries but this BPIP resurrection thing kinda pushed all other priorities out. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion and keep them coming - we can start working through the wishlist once we make the current stuff stable enough.

From what I've seen, PBIP misses about 1% of all profiles. If you could check the missing ones against http://loyce.club/usernames/, that would be great Smiley

Will do.

suchmoon has been generous enough to take over hosting and cover expenses necessary to get the site back online.
Suchmoon was generous enough to host loyce.club too after my webhost took off. Thanks Smiley

Great work again. I was hoping to see BPIP back online but after the last Vod's comment, I lost hope TBH.

Hello, Bitcointalk!  Grin
BPIP is back in action, but not fully operational yet!

Likely known to most, multiple HP drive firmware failures caused BPIP servers to suffer total unexpected data loss, which took the site offline until backups could be recovered and restored.

And, potentially unknown to most, suchmoon joined BPIP's development efforts several months ago, and has been a huge asset and resource. Smiley

Ultimately, it made more sense to move towards a new internal structure within BPIP, which has resulted in suchmoon and I taking over the development & ownership of BPIP, as equal partners.

suchmoon has been generous enough to take over hosting and cover expenses necessary to get the site back online. We both believe BPIP is a project worth developing and keeping alive.. but it does require a large amount of effort & resources to maintain, all which come with a cost.

With the new servers & hosting in place, instead of trying to resurrect the old site, we've decided to release the new design & parser which had been under development prior to the drives crashing.

Further improvements are still being worked on and additional features which are not quite ready to be released are coming very soon. So, while it is back in action, the site should not be considered live yet, and it could take days-weeks to get things caught up and running efficiently.

So, without further ado.. Grin
Some notable design changes.
-New header which helps mobile views and reduces the vertical footprint.
-5 New theme options, including a new dark silk theme and the bitcointalk throwback theme. Wink
-Customizable theme options, including the capability to hide/show the background to help slow/remote connections.
-Front-end layout has had an overhaul to correct some glitches, and has moved more into bootstrap world.
-Back-end improvements have helped performance overall, and many tweaks & bug fixes have been corrected.
-Character encoding should be corrected. Searches and post titles should now support special characters & spaces more consistently (as parsing catches up..)
-Avatars are now showing on profile pages, along with DT/banned/inactivity status.
-Profile page also supports ID's now (satoshi == https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=3)

And, I always like to include a few full size unblurred backgrounds. Smiley
