After Botafogo tied against São Paulo and by watching the current match which is going on right now against Cruzeiro, I reach the conclusion Junior Santos is a very important player in field to create chemistry among the players and lead the club ahead. The last games he played, which was against Palmeiras and Internacional, the squad played well and conquered the victory. But since he was removed, Botafogo isn't delivering the same results.

It's really hard to bet on Brasileirão's matches, because the clubs are too unstable. Each new week it looks a different team is playing. They don't maintain the performance. Palmeiras is a good example of that. Sometimes it's unbelievable. Good for those who bet picking the underdogs on the right matches.

The most interesting league for me has always been the Brazilian league.
Big teams may never have been relegated in other countries' leagues, but the huge Santos team was relegated in the Brazilian league.
Now, Brazil's well-established team Fluminense is experiencing this fear again. There's still a long way to go until the end of the league, but the team is very out of form and I don't know how they will get out of this situation.
I don't know if Fluminense has been relegated before. Maybe it was in the past years, but I don't remember it recently.
It is very exciting to follow the Brazilian championship, it is undoubtedly one of the most competitive and the fans are so fanatical that they fight in stadiums (not that this is a good thing, violence is always a bad thing).

The Brazilian Championship was elected, for the second year in a row, the strongest national league in the world.

A lot of games tonight from Serie A and my picks are the following :

Juventude - Criciuma = both teams to score but under 2.5 goals. ( pretty amazing odds around 6 )

Palmeiras - Vitoria = should be a solid win for Palmeiras but I wouldn't risk any bets on this game.

Bahia - International = actually this might be in favor of Bahia because this team is playing great football this season while International are finding themselves in a bit of struggle to accumulate points.

Fortaleza - Sao Paolo = derby of the night right ? both teams are doing great and both teams are looking for 3 points.  Cool

You'll be surprised
Fluminense was relegated in 1996, but the story doesn't end so quickly
In 1996, the CBF managed to pull off a “maneuver” and helped the team avoid relegation
In 1997, the team was finally relegated to play in the B series in 1998
In 1998, incredibly, the team managed to be relegated again, to play in the C series, which is the third division of the Brazilian championship

At least in 1999 they managed to win the championship and return to Serie A the following year (also with the help of the CBF at the time)

The Brazilian championship was very messy, more so than it is today

What happened to Palmeiras yesterday? The team looked listless and losing to the last placed team is a burden they certainly took to the locker room. It was the only defeat yesterday, which should have been the safest match.

Anyone who took a big gamble and bet on Fluminense winning must have won a lot of money. I don't remember the odds, but I would never have made that bet hehehe
How do you explain that to someone who doesn't follow Brazilian soccer regularly?
It's hard to explain even to us  Huh

Only Botafogo and Fortaleza have not lost in their last five matches
It really seemed like a sure bet, but in the end it was a box of surprises.

For this next round, I will bet on the following games:

Palmeiras SP - EC Vitoria ( I will bet that Palmeiras will win )

CR Flamengo RJ - AC Goianiense GO  ( I will bet that Flamengo will win )

I will make this choice for the following reasons:

The two big teams will play against very weak teams, as the odds are low, I will make a multi bet
Good point, it seems like a less risky bet given the fundamentals.

And so the round end, with Fluminense's victory over Palmeiras, Botafogo leads the round in the championship with a 3-point advantage.
Right behind them are: Flamengo, Palmeiras and Fortaleza and Cruzeiro closing the G4.

Flamengo can regain the lead today if they score at least 3 goals.

3 goals is too utopian, at least Flamengo will not lose to Atlético Goianiense and get 3 points, the match is also Flamengo's home game, so there is no doubt they will get 3 points. In the last 2 meetings Flamengo always won, they even beat Atlético Goianiense with a score of 4 - 1, that might be a good scenario for Flamengo to be in first place again.

Flamengo can regain the lead today if they score at least 3 goals. Gabigol seems to have woken up and decided to play football. After all, Rodolfo Landin (Flamengo's president) told him that he should show that he can still be a great player in order to have a long contract with Flamengo... and today in Brazil there is no better team to play for than Flamengo. There is even Palmeiras, but for those who have a lot of money, like football players between living in Rio and São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro is much better.

Only a miracle can keep Atlético-GO from losing to Flamengo  Cheesy
I'd rather Atlético won so Flamengo wouldn't be in the lead, but I know it's almost impossible

I don't know if they can score more than 3 goals to stay in the lead, but playing at the Maracanã it's all in Flamengo's favor

Paying just 1.36 odds to win
If you combine it with a Palmeiras win (1.40), it's 1.90 odds, it could be a good bet, that's what I'm thinking of doing

Botafogo and São Paulo finished in a draw, but the situation is still comfortable for Botafogo in the general ranking, because there is a higher margin between them and second place, Flamengo, than last week compared to Palmeiras, when there was only one goal average advantage. Botafogo is at 40 points mark, while Flamengo has 37 points and Palmeiras 36 points.

Botafogo's players lacked chemistry in today's match and São Paulo created more opportunities along the game. Botafogo had some difficult on middle field to control the ball, what caused São Paulo to play offensively more often.

Regards last year's fiasco, Botafogo's North American owner, John Textor, said at least one of the matches were manipulated by players of the club itself, who aren't playing for Botafogo this season anymore.

Sao Paulo could not do third goal against  Botafogo football team. Both team tried to do third goal but they became unsuccessful to do third goal and we saw draw match. We like match with result and being audience we support our team and we want win of team but no team could win this match. I was Supporting Botafogo team but they could not do goal at the end of match as I expected ,Cuiabano did first goal and made match interesting and I think Botafogo team did not play with level because level team plays good and defend the ball. Sao Paulo team gave excellent performance with my point of view because they have less strength against. Botafogo team but they performed well and draw the match. Good effort, carry on boys.

I was really very disappointed with Internacional, I thought they could stop Botafogo and put an end to their winning streak.
However, I see that we have a new favorite, or at least, a current, very consolidated championship leader.
Even with Botafogo's draw with São Paulo and a possible victory for Palmeiras, the difference between first and second place is still 3 points, a relatively safe margin still.

Anyway, there was a time when the leader of the table until the middle of the championship generally became champion, but lately this is no longer happening... the leadership tends to alternate until the last matches. How long will Botafogo be able to maintain this position?

I believe not for long.

In the game between São Paulo and Botafogo, there were two very early penalties, which is funny because they happened in the first 11 minutes of the game. But I thought that Botafogo would come out on top in this game, especially when I saw that Botafogo scored the second goal. I expected that after conceding a penalty, Botafogo would be more careful in defense and manage the game well. But they conceded an equalizer. I was close to betting on this game, but I'm glad I didn't.

Regarding whether Botafogo will be able to maintain this position for a long time, in my opinion, they might even be able to do the same thing they did last season, when they were leading the table and when the league was close to ending, they started to lose a lot. Botafogo's advantage this season is that they haven't changed coaches, and Palmeiras isn't as strong as it was last season, and Flamengo is still as strong as it was last season. So there is a good chance that Botafogo will become champion

No one expected Palmeiras to be defeated by Fluminense, which is one of the weakest team, of course we experienced disappointment and this made many people lose what they bet on.
I think Palmeiras seemed to play with lack of enthusiasm, they played badly and not as usual, the dominance of the game in the match was much more controlled by Fluminense.
A lot of pressure was seen experienced by Palmeiras against Fluminense, haha it was boring match, no one knows what happened to them and why something like this happened.
Previously Palmeiras also experienced defeat but that was when playing against fairly strong team, but this time it was very embarrassing.

Sometimes the planets align and the least expected happens, like a victory of the worst team in Brazil against one of the best teams in the championship...

This reminds me of what happened to me yesterday, I play a competitive fighting game, there I am in the Master league, which is the biggest league in the game, where the best players are... and I lost a match to a very, very bad player from a league much lower than mine... even though I made all the right plays, nothing worked lol... it happens... it was the opponent's lucky day.

I really agree with everything you say, even with the signing of "Baiden".

An apathetic team that didn't want to do anything. I hope the conversation at the party and in training is very tough, because later on these small mistakes count for a lot.

There was nothing wrong in that match, Palmeiras did what they could, don't underestimate Fluminense, they are one of the strongest teams in the league, they are just unlucky this season, you can look at the history of the standings in previous seasons. Ranked seventh last season, and ranked third in the previous 2 seasons.

Fortaleza must be able to take advantage of this situation to continue following Palmeiras, next is against Sao Paulo, it is not easy but they must be able to get their best potential to be in the top 3 of the standings.

Palmeiras played really badly, they looked like a different team... Maybe they thought it would be an easy win, since Fluminense is in the last places... This game also saw the return of Thiago Silva for Fluminense, historically this club has always liked to sign veterans, in fact the club has already signed its new reinforcement for the rest of the season:

I believe not for long.

I'm not sure that Botafogo will be able to stay at the top of the league, precisely because of what happened last year
If the team loses two or three games, the psychological factor can affect the team a lot

Is anyone here keeping an eye on Fortaleza?
It's very nice to see a team that until a few years ago was “small” and recently managed to reach a final in the Sudamericana and be in 4th place in the Brazilian championship
