Today Botafogo played with its main team for the first time in 2025 and overcame Fluminense by 2x1. Good to see the players from 2024 playing once again, but it's visible we miss players of Luiz Henrique and Thiago Almada's quality on the field. It was a hard game, like it used to be last year against teams which tend to close themselves in a totally defensive formation. Next game is going to be Sunday against Flamengo for the SuperCopa.

Botafogo needs reinforcements for this season as soon as possible. So far, we have seen only players leaving the team, without new acquisitions. To rely on the secondary team composed by players from the base isn't a good idea.
I hope that the culture that fostered the players you mentioned will also foster the new players that have arrived. If everything is right with the culture, they will create new great players. And I really believe in this team dynamic.
If everything really happens then it could be possible for them to defend the title again, currently Botafogo game is still quite good even though several players left and caused them to suffer several defeats, after yesterday win Botafogo will prepare to play in the final match of Supercopa Rei against Flamengo.
What do you think, whether Botafogo will be able to win this match considering that Flamengo itself is also quite strong team and they could even overwhelm Botafogo, this will definitely be very interesting match.

Precisely, what makes a team champion for consecutive times with different players and staff is the culture that the team carries with it. So, if they can maintain this culture that worked and brought victories, then they can start the team from scratch, the team will win.

In this match I believe there is no favorite, because both Botafogo and Flamengo are going through a transition period, with reinforcements arriving and players leaving, even though most of the team is the same, there are always difficulties in associating with the tactical scheme at the beginning of the year... But if I have to make a guess, I prefer Flamengo simply because it is the team I am a fan of.

I don't really like Fernando Diniz as a coach, I think he's very overrated, especially by the media, I think Brazil has been doing very badly lately when it comes to coaches, they're all very, very inferior to foreigners, unfortunately there's nothing that can be done, it's kind of cultural... the reflection of that is the Brazilian national team.

In the next few days Corinthians will play Noroeste, in this game you can bet, in the next one against Ponte Preta I already think it is quite risky

Brazil has had some great coaches, even some who have led World Cup teams and great teams in Europe
But nowadays they're in decline, just look at the best coach in Brazil today, the Portuguese Abel Ferreira, and for a while it was Jorge Jesus at Flamengo...

Since I'm stubborn  Cheesy, I'll place my bet on Corinthians today as the odds are already at 2.12 for a win
I'm also betting on Sao Paulo against Portuguesa, with odds of 2.04

If I manage to win these bets, I'll be able to recover a good part of my losses so far.

I admire your courage, but don't worry. Just bet on Santos when Neymar enters the field. It will be very easy to recover, if Neymar is going to play, bet in favor, if not, bet against. I believe that this will be enough to make a profit.

Gabigol must be thinking hard about his decision to leave Flamengo. If things continue like this, he will lower his guard and ask to return next season. He will accept whatever salary it takes to get out of this ticking time bomb that is Cruzeiro after Ronaldo's departure.

Flamengo still have a stronger team and will probably continue to do so for some time, but Gabigol was already in a difficult relationship at the club
I don't doubt that he could still return to the club in the future, after all he's only 28 years old  Cheesy

Yes, they only hired the "refuse", players who are at the end of their careers or have no great ambitions of playing in bigger teams, all that was missing was to hire Felipe Mello, David Luiz and Alexandre Pato, to form a team of veterans lol, anyway, I think that this year's Cruzeiro will be like a shitcoin doing the famous "dead cat jump", they will fight not to be relegated, after all, firing the coach at the beginning of the year, with a new team, is asking for suffering the whole year, since they will lose practically the entire preseason.... and they still want to hire Renato Gaúcho.... they are screwed hahahaha

I still didn't know they wanted to hire Renato Gaúcho and I still think they were wrong to fire Fernando Diniz
To be honest, I'd like to see Fernando Diniz coaching Corinthians, it could work out quite well  Cool

Tomorrow Corinthians will play against Ponte Preta, it's a good opportunity to get back to winning
The odds are very good given that Corinthians are playing away from home, 1.94 to win
But probably if I bet I'll lose, I'm in a bad betting phase

Yes, this World Cup is great for revealing new talents.

In the last few days I have been following Cruzeiro a little, because of Gabigol's transfer to Minas Gerais, but it seems like the year has barely started and the team is already in crisis, including the departure of coach Fernando Diniz... How crazy, this shows that Cruzeiro still has serious administrative problems...

The media talked a lot about Cruzeiro, which was putting together a super team, which hired and spent a lot of money and even compared it to several excellent teams that were put together in the recent past, such as Flamengo a few years ago

However, the three great players who went to Cruzeiro are:

Cássio, who is already 37 and practically in his last years as a player.
Dudu, who was from Palmeiras, a good player, but far from his best form that we've seen him play.
Gabigol who is also a good player, but was a reserve at Flamengo and has ups and downs in his career, he's not so constant

A few games in and they've already fired Fernando Diniz, which I think is a big mistake, they've already had a bad start to the season
Every coach and player needs time to show their best work, and here in Brazil the teams are still very short-sighted

And the worst part is that they tried to buy David Luiz. Despite going to Fortaleza, due to his friendship with the club's former president. But if it weren't for that, I believe he would have gone to Cruzeiro. And in that case, I really believe they won't get much, because they only have big names who will hardly bring anything.

I bet on Botafogo in the match against Maricá, I thought it would be easy money and unfortunately I lost, so since then I've been waiting for the main teams to return with their strongest squads so I can bet with more peace of mind, these reserve teams are totally unpredictable, they are practically like random shitcoin, you can't predict any movement.

Did you watch the final of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup? São Paulo won.

I couldn't watch it, but Corinthians lost twice to São Paulo hehehe, in the Junior Cup and yesterday in the Paulistao
There are a lot of games and I couldn't watch them all, but yesterday I watched the Paulistao game and I was disappointed with Corinthians. Even though the team didn't play that badly, they're still not capable of being on the same level as Palmeiras and Sao Paulo, there's still a bit to go before the team can win more important games
The team is at least on the right track this time, unlike last year

Returning to the Junior Cup, the good thing for Sao Paulo and Corinthians is that both teams did very well, and will certainly take good players to the professional level.
It's amazing how many good players emerge from this cup

I also bet on Corinthians, just thinking about their consecutive victories. Apparently São Paulo entered the field and didn't even know about it. They just went out there, scored their goals and went home.

Now we have to see if Corinthians was attached to their winning streak or not.

Sorry for your loss Pumared
As I said, Corinthians still have enormous difficulty winning against the biggest teams or in the most important matches, and again it happened
I still see them as the 3rd team in Paulistao, below Sao Paulo and Palmeiras at least so far

Two very interesting games yesterday:
Corinthians beat Agua Santa
Palmeiras beat Santos

There are only three games played, but I can see that Corinthians at least have a more organized team and it seems that the training time has been good for the team.
In three days' time, the team will have a good chance to show that they've really improved, because the game will be against São Paulo in Morumbi
Difficult match to bet on

Santos played well, but conceded a late goal in estra time and lost the game

I only placed a small bet on Corinthians  Cheesy

Well, at least I was able to make some money betting on Corinthians  Smiley. An interesting fact is that the team has won 10 games in a row, which is very good because it shows that the entire squad is on a roll and it will be difficult to lose to smaller teams in the São Paulo state championship. Would Corinthians be a team to keep an eye on throughout the year? Since the good phase has been going on since last year's Brazilian championship, it seems that the political crisis has been somewhat put aside and is not influencing the team's performance... that is nice.

But that's counting last season, right? Well, I don't think there were that many games this season. But anyway, it inflates their egos and I hope they don't pay too much attention to it and just play the football that got them all those wins in a row.

Yes, the count is from last season. And São Paulo ended this unbeaten streak, so we return to normal programming lol  Cheesy

I'll remain skeptical for some time
I still can't trust Corinthians very much

I didn't know the team was unbeaten in 10 games, it's an important mark for a team that suffered a lot last year
The Paulista championship will be a good thermometer for the team, especially when they play Sao Paulo and Palmeiras, or if they reach the final.

I'm still going to keep my bets low, and I'll probably be more confident in the Brazilian championship.

Are you watching the games too?
Any bets?
