Let's wait until there are multiple sources that can be verified.
If they legalize it, it would def be a very positive signal for crypto.
However, based on the past behaviour of the Chinese government, I'd assume they tend to favor control; hence, China launching their own state issued crypto coin/token would be much more logical.

too many confusing parties and many frozen Chinese crypto markets, this is a mistake throughout the history of crypto where China should have been aware of having one of the countries with the greatest potential of fintech volume and should not have banned.

rumors about regulation always inversely proportional to their government statement. even the global community no longer trusts them because they are always unsure and panicked.

According to https://t.me/oneminute_crypto_news which translated the source from Sina, a Chinese media website, that in a conference held by Chinese official web media, People's Web, a famous scholar Dong Yang released that Chinese SEC is conducting the legal research to legalize the ICO and the ICO will become a legit tool of crowdfunding soon.

I agreed that Dong Yang is not a high-level official and he is a professor at Renmin University who is active in the crypto space. I think the focus of the news should be:

1. The Chinese SEC is revisiting the crowdfunding tool;
2. The so-call legit ICO may actually become a tool with heavy regulation in the cryptocurrency space.

So, please wait and see.

The "soon" is something that have been paraded in the crypto space since last year and till today the "soon" has not happened. It is then safe to say that anything not from official source without a date attached to it is merely speculation. When Google's ban on crypto ad related contents was reported, a date was attached with reliable source this singular act made the reaction to the market price a genuine one which means when the ban takes effect it would be less harmful as against how it will be regarded as FUD if those two components are not there.

Whether they allow ICOs or not, its based on their own evaluation and there is no need for someone to rely on such information to change holding situation because of something that might or might not happen.
It's just another way to get peoples attentions,  for sure some whales beyond this really waiting for such opportunity, if there's a good reactions out from the market and new investors dive in, those who are just waiting for benefits will soon to announce another speculations about china's position
regarding to ico and the entire crypto industry, better to wait from the reliable source coming from the Chinese government itself before reacting and
making any position.

Claims with unverified sources are exactly what kills the crypto market. we all know china's position on certain crypto currencies, if they aren't legalizing it. let it be so, these un usefull claims add no positivity to the market

now or later, china must quickly recognize the world of ICO. If you do that there will be more other countries to follow. We know the present great state of any kind. They do everything that can be role models for other countries.

Any news on what China really is planning these days? Most of the news about them with the ICO decision are more of speculative, opinion.
According to me goverments should bring regulations about ICO announcements instead of banning them. Yeap they are right from some perspectives. There are lots of ico were announced to fraud people. But still there are lots of quality ico procets exist.
Are you talking as whole or you are just talking about China itself?

We have seen this kind of act for a lot of time, after few times the government will change the idea and banned the ico again, the China's government want the power to control, and since crypto can't be control the government will keep finding way to do it, heavy regulation icobfor sure won't success in the market, I think the legitimate rules won't survive for a long time

We hope this becomes a reality, since we know that most of the people who handle cryptocurrencies come from China and that the ico would have potential investors if it comes to this, we hope what will be the response of China and what regulations will apply to the ico .

This is bullish to all crypto addicts and bounty hunters. I'm sure there will be an effect on the whole marketcap. But i'm just worried about the future ICO and it's all about KYC process they can track us our identity and they could open or access our files. This is very alarming!

And according to my senses, China has contradicting policies in many times. Do I trust them on anything about cryptocurrency related news, bad or good. Now for all they’ve done so far, I don’t know if it will come a time that I would believe again what their saying.

Dong yang’s statement won’t weight anything and can’t change the stand of its government. All opinions are welcome in this forum, but you know in that country. -Negative

Hello guys! ICO really stands for Initial Coin Offering and I usually think of ICO as a ERC20 token from Ethereum. But ICO really stands for Initial Coin Offering. So, kind of funny, most ICO is really a ITO, Initial Token Offering. Marinecoin is still in the underwaters see it surface from the underworld. It is now back with a new team of developers an a growing community. The sky is potentially the limit, one must however always have realistic expectations. Marinecoin will skyrocket to outerspace swim  in the depths of the milkyway. Marinecoin is a self sustaining, zero fees, dev-less time dilution technology which has been tested over time and has stood the the tests of time. This is a first a self sustaining community. Future looks bright for Marinecoin. marineco.in marineco.inMore details here: bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2971179.0

Sorry to break it to you brother, marinecoin will never become anything. It's a bad project with many shills like you, please stop shilling it. Wink

Yes, China is a stupid country.
They first banned ICO and crypto-currency markets, so if they could tax them in the future, they would be able to reopen the exchange.
They i think they are not stupid. They are just very greedy. They always find ways to outwit other competitors for all we know what they did with the banning of bitcoin in their country was just a way so that they can profit more with the cryptocurrencies.
