It is no surprise to see that they have banned them in china. Just the sheer amount of the scam coins that are coming into the market on a weekly basis is alrming and if something is not done to stop them then they will keep growing until it gets to a point where no one is willing to invest in any of the coins again which would mean that the icos will die out.

The Chinese are smart and rational state managers, so they know how to behave with cryptography. I think the Chinese government is trying to protect its people from fraud in general and fraud from ICO in particular. They do not want a decentralized system, no matter what China is a communist state.

I understand what they made the decision. In fact, ICO has no protected to the investor. The regulation is needed to collect the money. I know it's against the spirit of the Bitcoin philosophy. But, the world is changing. If I am an investor, I want a protection for my fund. I believe the cryptocurrency will find the way.

This is not surprising, in China, very strict laws and what can I say, even if they have the Internet under strong censorship

I do not understand why the authorities of different countries prohibit cryptocurrency and everything connected with it.
Because the price of up and down cryptocurrency is uncertain.
While the government and financial institutions need certainty in order to manage their finances for the future.
If it is profitable then it is good for the country and if it loses it is a sadness for the country.

In my opinion, this is not a problem.
Chinese investors can also make ICOs in their chosen countries such as Estonia, Malta and Singapore.

Cryptocurrency is Digital ,so everything Gonna be OK .

This news was made about one year ago (2017-09-04). Though not sure if it is genuine. However, considering the growth of bitcoin last year, then, I don't think the news affected the growth of bitcoin. The letter head of the manuscript of the news shows that it is Bank of China. It is obvious government banking may not like cryptocurrency growth (personal opinion). The philosophy behind the invention of bitcoin is: 'Be Your Own Bank'. Though we all have various reasons why we are into cryptocurrency. Bitcoin have advantages and disadvantages, but I think the advantages outweighs its disadvantages.

I don't know how authentic this news is well if it true I think it's a big lose for citizen of China who are actively involved in cryptocurrency I really hope the government have a change of heart

It does not actually matter if china banned icos because bitcoins still managed to reach $19k dollars before the year ends and that is the reason why you should invest today even though the market prices are dropping.

If China does not ban Bitcoin and crypto, I think Bitcoin will easily reach $ 20,000 faster than ever. In addition, I think the Chinese government is forbidden to lose the money they invest in the ICO, they are introducing the law to the crypto

I think that's a good news, because I do not trust ICO projects developed in china, but it's bad news for the pennies that will affect the price of the pennies all over the world.
I think this is normal. because even before that China had banned crypto so I wasn't so surprised by this. I don't think we need to think much because there are still many countries that support crypto.
I am sure that China will eventually support crypto if crypto is increasingly accepted by the public.

ICOs are indeed banned in China, because China is a lot of fraud.
All ICOs there are almost average cheats.

But unlike the European countries that are open to ICOs, hopefully China will also open an ICO in the future with a legal body that protects its consumers.
If China wants to reconsider the opening of the ICO, then I think there should be a necessary regulatory body in order to avoid those scam icos, in China, in addition to a few projects such as NEO, there are too many icos are scams.
Even so, the background from China is using local products from their own country and that is why ICO or blockchain systems are not from their own products

Good thing they didn't ban the Internet itself by this point. Oh wait, they pretty much did.

ICO are a bad idea and most of them are either scams or leave the investor with the same result. Chinese government seems to ban anything with possible bad effects on people, so I am not surprised.
The government takes care of its citizens and this is correct. everyone has his own methods.

- One of the reasons was ICO being banned was that there were many fake or scam ICO which would harm traders and other users. But I also don't know what is true as there are many fake news about it topic going on,just to start panic among users.China had done the right thing I think.!!!!

I am happy for them so much, they will have less amount of scams and investors will take place in a lot of promising projects and ICOs will be forgotten very soon I suppose. There are not worth to be on the cryptomarket because it is very hard to trust them.

Despite the ban placed on crypto by China, yet we still has bullish market that same year. Which means if any other country decides to do the same, it will not in any way influence or affect the crypto world. They are all just operating in their various niches, which cannot affect the rest of the world. Although, the is one of the tools that fudders employ to bring a breakdown in the market. Despite all the news and rumours about crypto this year, coins will still rise.

I thought that China will be more far-sighted here, ICOs are good for getting investments but from the other side they also can be right in the way of scams and other bads.

Not surprised, if you really look at all of these ICOs you will see that most of them if not all are just scams, there has to be ways implemented to make sure that they can stop the rising number of scam ICOs. We really do not need new coins, there are already thousands of coins in the market already that we do not know what to do with. I support this decision.
