DEV Why price is going down any issue?

There are no issues really, if anything things are looking good.

The price will go up and down, that's just what happens.  We saw a increase of 500% over a week period, so a dip soon afterwards was expected...  But I'm sure it won't be too long before we go above 1,000 again. Smiley

Good but I think there are a few important things which I think were missed:

1) How about anonymity features? I don't favour this but many people do.  Anonymity which can be turned on and off would be a perfect solution.  You could even raise funds to get this done professionally by someone outside of the team if it isn't feasible for you to do it yourselves.

2) In addition to the Android Wallet, how about the ability to send Brit using text messaging?

3) Also a Youtube competition to get people to make a real video to promote Britcoin could potentially help and get Britcoin a lot of coverage.  The other video is rather impersonal and looks like a fancy powerpoint presentation - very slick but not very human.

4) As ever there needs to be more work done on promotion too - there can never be enough!  With this in mind I think continuing to look for more people to help is really important and should be part of the whitepaper too to make it official.

5) I would also think the idea to have a competition to find a King/Queen of Britcoin for promotional purposes could also work well and give a big boost to spreading the word.

After waiting an extra week for this I have to admit I am slightly disappointed that you left out these ideas/features which have been discussed before with quite a positive reaction.  I understand sometimes things can be overlooked in the rush to meet a deadline - Maybe you can still add them in?

You're right, there are a few things that were missed out which is completely my fault.  I really could have done with an extra day or two to work on it but didn't want to push back the deadline, again.  I also got caught up with writing 500+ word interview replies to two journalists, which was something I hadn't planned on.

But as the whitepaper says, it is subject to change and I'm happy to update it.  I think the current version is good, it still details a number of exciting plans etc.

1) This is something that can be added to the non immediate wallet developments list, including the option to turn on/off with off being the default.  But it's not something that's going to be added in the near future, since we already have a lot on our dev plate.  I like the idea of taking donations to pay for a bounty, but we already have an experienced coin developer working on BritCoin so I will discuss this with him before making a decision.

2) I like the idea of payments by SMS, but again it's something which we'll have to research and plan so it may not be released for quite some time.  That is unless like above we manage to find someone who would be willing to do it for a bounty that is. I will add info in the whitepaper, once I've updated it.

3) We are planning on starting our YouTube competition at some point next week.  Once our Facebook competition ends on Friday I will write a competition guide that will give users the rules and ideas etc.  Also to be added to the whitepaper.

4) Taken onboard.

5) A BritCoin king and queen competition sounds like a great idea, which I would like to see at some point.  But I think it would be better to wait a few months before starting the competition, as we're still a young coin and think we'll get a much better response once our community is a little larger.

Thanks once again for your feedback and ideas, I really do appreciate it.  Let me know if you notice anything else that was suggested that I missed.

We have been in discussion about anonymity features, it is something we are researching at this point so that is why it was not included in the whitepaper yet. We do recognize the benefits of having it especially for businesses that don't want "transparent" transactions. We are not stressing this feature yet tho.

William just 2 question:
1. Google Authenticator - how difficult it is to add this protection to the application? And is it need at all?
2. What you think about to do in the future public charity / promotional campaign for some of involvement with the UK celebrity? For example Jamie Oliver Smiley

Thnks for your reply.

Thanks for your questions Akajsoos;

1.  I think adding Google Auth to the actual coin could work, only if it was optional though since not everyone will want to use it. It is something we have thought about, but we have no immediate plans to implement it, but that's not to say it won't be at some point in the future.

2.  Great idea and it's something we're very open to, but choosing the right celebrity 'ambassador' for BritCoin will require some real thought, the last thing we need is the coin being associated with a public figure people dislike or mistrust. Cheesy

If you have any suggestions on potential celebrities then let me know! Cheesy

I think Richard Branson would be the best person he accepts bitcoin so why not britcoin?  Smiley

Perfect!  I think he would make a great ambassador for BritCoin, everyone likes him, including me.  I think Alan Sugar would be a good candidate too, but he may be a bit too old to get it..  Karren Brady is also on my list, raaaw Roll Eyes
lol must get kate moss on board then

Eww no thanks, think we are a bit too classy for Kate Moss..  Although she might look cute in a BritCoin top. Tongue
