I really think people are seriously over-valuating BRX. I mean seriously, asking around 15x ETH exchange launch price before the platform has even officially launched is ridiculous. Explain to me why you think they are worth these numbers?

this has already been discussed here, people currently holding will over value it , people wanting to buy it will undervalue it because both are looking out for themselves and trying to get the best price for themselves .

I would be willing to sell mine for around 1000 BRX per btc , this is likely also highly over valued , but i will not be parting with them unless i get a nice profit otherwise i will just hold

+1

people (buyer/seller) have their own perspective about value , some of them speculate this is gonna pricey someday by looking current BTC that raised on 2nd ICO sale , some of them speculate it wont be this pricey someday.

@ 5% interest annually the first year will see 975000 BRK coins generated if you have only 100 BRX you have 0.00083% of the stake which means you would mine around 8 BRK that year. If that cost you $300.00 that puts valuation of BRK pre-launch at $37 USD. Get your head out of the clouds folks.

I like this conversation. Based on your analysis what value would you give BRX?

BRK are the intrinsic value for the platform so everything has to be based on the trading rate of this coin. BRX are essentially hashrate or lotto tickets to win BRK. I am not a programmer so I don't know how the "Weight" of the coin is calculated and if it is compounded but it makes sense to me that if you have 100 50/50 draw cards and I have 100,000 draw cards, I am more likely to win and my BRX will mature again in 12 days putting all those lotto tickets right back out competing with yours again.

I think at the highest BRX will trade equal to BRK and its more likely that they will trade at about 1/10 to 1/5 the market price of BRK.

I don't see why anyone would take any of these offers.  If you are patient enough BRX will be offered for sale (probably on Bitrex) by Breakout at a later date.  Just wait for it instead of losing money on an early trade.  The BRK ICO will probably not reach 2000 BTC....not with the price going back up before halving.   If it doesn't (from my understanding) they will be sold by the team.  Wait for an announcement.  PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.

BRX is the only way to mint new BRK.  Meaning that owning BRX is like owning a Miner for Brk, in which the miner capacity never increases because the fixed 12.8mil brx supply. The only way to own this miner, would be to purchase more from the market.

If no BRX is distributed in the crowdsale. That means the current 35% stakeable BRX in the Market will get 100% of newly minted brk, and early holders of the coin will benifit immensely from this. This could easily be 100+brk/month  for every 1k brx held.

with this said, BRX should be worth significantly more than BRK, Especially if BRK turns into a huge Use and value coin.  I assume BRX will be a hoarding asset, where the price to buy in is going to be unrealistic because of the fixed supply and the fact that most wont sell because of the huge payoff from staking.

Hope this helps.  BTW,  I have blocks of 50BRX @ 0,1btc if anyone wants to get some early.

In the world of crypto currency where people aren't happy with 5% gains in a day you think people will take your 20 year ROI when more are coming onto the market before long. Before people even know if the BRK will hold market value when trading begins?? But I guess you have every right to talk up the assets you own while trying to sell them  Cool

If that is true then BRX holds all the value of the platform in an ecosystem designed to accept BRK as currency, which means the price for BRK will bottom out killing the price of both tokens.

PoW mints new coins by fee savaging BRK & BRX that would have been otherwise destroyed by the system.

I get what you are saying.  Hell, when i buy some BRX i will hold it so that i can stake.  But if the team is going to sell that 6.6 million at a later date this year, i would rather just wait for it, and buy from them.   Staking early doesn't justify the crazy prices people are throwing out here for the few BRK stakes you receive.

EDIT:  Even using your numbers: 50 BRX for 0.1 BTC.
So if I could potentially get 100 BRK from staking with those 1000 BRX a month, that is NOWHERE NEAR the value of 2 BTC.  Or will be by the time they are offered by the team.   So I will wait.

For folks looking at the interest rates with BRX:
Quote
5% interest annually

If I understand correctly, this figure (5%), was derived from the initial BRK supply, block times and reward per block. The actual percentage will be much higher, in practice, if a large portion of the initial BRK supply ends up being provably destroyed by Bittrex, which is looking most likely. My expectation is that destroying a significant portion of the initial supply, will end up making both BRK and BRX more valuable (i.e, scarcer).

In effect, it's anyone's guess as to what will be the actual staking returns. It will depend largely on where the stake difficulty settles, and working out the optimal staking strategy (number of inputs vs size of the inputs). Coin control addicts have the upper hand there!  Grin Grin

@marcelocoin @flipace and others: thank you for an awesome poker game last night.
I think I did really poorly on the hand that got me out at the last table, but all in all quite happy since I really only ever played poker tourneys since the breakout fun started, and so far just a few... Beginners luck is what got me that far, most definitely  Grin

I'd just like to express that the duration of the tourney is a bit too much for me. I'm way past my best before date by the time we got to the final table. I imagine that the regulars are most used to it, but for a poker newbie as myself, it really feels too demanding.
In any case, awesome job, the app is fine, the game is big fun, and a great vibe all around.  Cool Cool

Congrats on making to the final table, I managed to get there too. Duration of the tourney is kinda long yes but if you play the regular BRK coin tournaments with either 100 or 200 BRK prizepools they all have 5 minutes levels and last a maximum of about 1,5h.
