I wouldn't advise it, not only is it likely illegal it is also highly immoral in my opinion. If he is a scammer then forget about him, it's not worth it just put your efforts into something else rather than rallying a witch hunt. Also contact forum staff to ban him and again if he signs up with a new account (on same ip address/email).

However, are you sure he has scammed you? Because he hasn't contacted you back? Perhaps something has happened to him? He is ill? There are lots of possibilities. We should wait and see what happens in a few days, until then I will point my mining elsewhere though and cancel my buy order on these coins so thanks for the heads up.

I agree with StableCoin, it appears to have a good little team behind it now and I have also been trying to mine that, although finding the difficulty a little hard for my machine.

A new project that looks like it may have something will be CasinoCoin (CAC) which is launching in 14 days. It has 3 professional devs behind it who are in talks with casinos around the world who are looking for a single casino currency to use instead of fiat (cash in/cash out system in house). It looks like they have done some research and they may have something. It's not just another clone coin, although they are taking the name of the old CasinoCoin which is dying due to the dev abandoning it. Another great coin is peercoin, although that is sha256 so most can't mine it. I'm investing as much money as I can into that though .

So Bosscoin himself has disappeared now? Has anyone looked at the code for the Bosscoin client to make sure there is nothing in it like a key logger or trojan?

I have been quite lucky with a few new launches of altcoins in the past (Protoshares, Datacoin ... ) and made a few dollars. When I saw the Announcement about Bosscoin, for some reason, it sounded fishy to me.

I didn't bite. I was wondering if I would regret this, but as I see now, It was a good decision...

Well, my vision for building the support community and the amount of effort I was going to put into it would have been worth the equivalent value of BSS coins.  I was willing to part with them and send first, simply because the guy trusted me (I was admin and running the whole thing, issuing bounty for graphics development work, etc...) -- so you could say it was a way for me to buy a sizable share in the coin with the hope to develop it into something meaningful.  I had some ideas, but never got to share them with the crooked DEV...  Hey, if this thing stays as is and somehow reaches an exchange, you'll be in a good place. 

Not to throw a pound of salt on your wound but:
They are/were all "scamcoins" till they survive and someone is willing to pay for them. Be it Litecoin or Junkcoin.
Also, why would you send a large amount( 1.7btc equivalent) of an already established coin to a fresh forum account before receiving a coin that was born a day ago? It was unfortunate that it happened to you of course.

Please help to get the word out and get others who fell for BSS to focus on real ALTernatives.

who in their right mind would mine these new wave of shitclones??? they have nothing new to offer and cryptsy is already stacked to the brim with shitclones from the last wave to the extent it is pulling their site down.

You can say with 100% certainty they will not be adding more shitclones EVER. If the coin has nothing new it is done.  They will focus on getting the site ready for more users not more copy paste crap like this.

Yup, pretty ignorant of me, though in the absence of good technical understanding or answers from the dev, I asked 2 experts to offer their professional opinion just yesterday, so no answers yet... I need to stop trusting people, though I don't equate being paranoid with freedom...

anyone supporting BSS is an IDIOT! I mentioned it on the first page of BSS that the DIFF algo is ALL SCREWED UP...why would you guys trust a DEV with only 5 posts to develop a proper coin.

First off , 1440 block diff change is STUPID...the only coins that can survive such a huge block diff change is LTC and BTC....everything else gets raped and abandoned.

Second, everyone who is late to the game and thinks that backing any new coin will make them rich is daydreaming. Anyone who backed THCcoin got robbed because that coin had a keylogger. I wish this coin had a keylogger so you guys would learn your lesson

If this coin does by some miracle survive, expect a hard fork to change the diff issue.

My advice is, its not too late to back the more established coins.

WDC has Scharmbeck and will be going to BTC38 which means WDC/YUAN trading
DGC has CryptoAve going into Closed Beta this month, expect DGC/ARG/SRC to USD trading.
SBC has Artos  and is developing wallet coin mixing integration using the TOR network.

each of these coins is trading below a $1
take this from someone who watched LTC go from 23 cents, to 60 cents, to $1 (witnessed live on BTC-E) to $4....well you get the point.

Its not too late to back REAL coins with a REAL future...BSS is a SCAM just as CHNcoin is a SCAM....and CHNcoin is a double scam considering people are just mining and dumping that giant turd because it has NO REAL VALUE.
