Bye bye btc-e :-(

Ha it looks so badly done I also thought you were kidding, but it's real =(

Oh well, it was fun.

IMHO FBI needs a better graphics designer Wink this is worse than paint

Since when do they write down the name of the website?

Look at this one
http://sharebeast.com/

Also  a check on seized domain images on google shows nothing like that

You're wrong, they use that type of image too. I know because I've seen it a number of times on torrent sites. Search google for demonoid.com seized ...kickass torrents seized.. and you will see it

The seized image is not fake, you can check it archived here: https://archive.is/e3L3o

If you don't see it you have to use Google DNS ( 8.8.8.8 ), open Chrome Incognito, load http://btc-e.com (without HTTPS).

Please god drop a bomb on the DoJ !

It doesnt help, you dont need to believe it but its true. Sad

That's not useful and these actions mean exchanges in future will be more compliant with regulations that are there to protect people. I don't really want bitcoin to remain the wild west forever.

If you can't see the seized page just used a proxy server and you will see it. Either that or delete your cache etc. Seizure means like I said before that they are treating it like the Silk Road. As I said before I read the entire indictment. They speak like the entire user base of BTC-e are criminals. Don't believe it then go read it yourself. It's over.

Did anyone read what the shadowserver offers? Yeah they say they are there to prevent cyber crime. But perhaps BTC-E was using it. It would have been helpful in the DDOS attacks a few weeks ago. Has anybody checked the WHOIS in the past? If so, do you remember seeing a different server in use?

There is literally a domain seized page on the site.

http://btc-e.com/index.html

If the page won't load:
https://us4.proxysite.com/process.php?d=joV9uVqbU10chMTSGl7disFeeXMUh2c%3D&b=1&f=norefer

Both links don't load.

Go to https://www.proxysite.com/ select "US Server" and enter http://btc-e.com/index.html then hit go.

Hey guys... logged in after a long break Grin

Those of you NOT using VPN! Read on!

You should REALLY sign up for VPN service before you touch that dial again on btc-e again...

TorVPN accept Bitcoin and Litecoin. You get a 10% discount if you pay with Litecoin / LTC

https://torguard.net/anonymoustorrentvpn.php

ProXPN proxpn.com takes Paypal and easy to use, works on Mac also:

https://secure.proxpn.com/member/signup.php

Try not to use TOR as all entry points are monitored and DO NOT use TAILS that's also like painting a target on your forehead.

I'm sure there are a number of VPN services that offer different options [ feel free to list], but if you dont USE VPN you SHOULD REALLY get one NOW!

Cheers!

This is an excellent site with lots of great info, including: "VPN providers with extra layers of privacy":

https://privacytoolsio.github.io/privacytools.io/

"Our VPN Provider Criteria

Operating outside the USA or other Five Eyes countries.
More: Avoid all US and UK based services.
    OpenVPN software support.
Accepts Bitcoin, cash, debit cards or cash cards as a payment method.
No personal information is required to create an account. Only username, password and Email.

We're not affiliated with any of the above listed VPN providers. This way can give you honest recommendations."

@Sam-Os

95% they write is pure bullshit

If USA rob me I will make one way trip to USA, If I need to protest till i die, I will do it!!!
+ I too lost a lot in mtgox and I will die rather then to be Goxed 2x!

Yeah , yeah.
I've been around during mt gox fiasco I've around during the butterfly scam I've been around numerous "exits".
And each and every f time there were lots of keyboard warriors who were making plans on doxing and much more the culprits flying to sangri-la and having their way with them.

Of course nothing will happen, and when bitswamp will suffer another "hack" this for real you'll be here posting your plans

LOL - while I agree - I don't think the FBI are in the business of professionally branding their takedowns..

Servers are not important but just private keys and bank accounts where their fiat money is.

well, that and a database backup, kind of important

It's just a domain name, calm down people :X

it's a little more than that.

i guess it depends on whether they've managed to access the servers themselves. maybe they haven't but this is certainly a sign that they're gonna try.

i wonder what they'll do with everyone's holdings. it's not as if it was a dark market. it was an openly accessible site.

I'm drunk at the moment but I'd like to emphasize that the fine enforced by DOJ is a fucking joke. If you have any understanding how international civil law works you can basically wipe your ass with the fine.

Worst case scenario is that it would stretch into a fucking long (years) proceedings. US has no jurisdiction to enforce that fine unless another extraterrestrial state beforehand has agreed upon to enforce such fines.

It will be a long and heavy process for US Officials to enforce this fine.

As a lawyer I suggest neglecting this and denying US ip adress access to btce, and all thereafter is lawful. Should any US citizen use VPN or other measures to reach btce, it's beyond the control of btce.

Should any btce admin or owner wish to talk about all this I am more than willing to do so.
