Nice observation, yup when BTC is in the acceleration phase or Bitcoin rally. Altcoin prices are falling down.
But I noticed one thing. ETH price in USD is also souring high during the BTC rally.
So instead of keeping BTC during the Bitcoin rally. I buy it with ETH as it gives me higher profit in USD.

I noticed that most times when btc is rallying almost all of the altcoins dip. and when there is a crash in btc all altcoins suffer as well. my interpretation is that for the first alts can't sustain the price against the $ if btc is high. and for the second, everyone is panic selling btc.
what do yo guys think ??

really?? if that so should i sell all my eth now in usd? im really having a hard time learning trading but I reaaally am eager to learn. haha im stuck at eth im just patiently waiting for the correction if there will be..

The correction will come but not just soon. It is expected when the fork comes.
The fork should cause more sharp movement in the market, which could lead to a rush in temporal sell off of bitcoin.

Meanwhile, as for learning to trade, is nice. Make your mistakes and understand why you made the mistake so you don't keep repeating it. If you are lucky, you might learn from other's mistakes. Determination and patience will help you. Do more research.

Bitcoin is like central bank to others coins and just like a sayin "when America sneezes, other countries cache cools" is the same effect we are having on bitcoin and altcoins.Currently bitcoin is in bullish market and most of the altcoins are bearish and in September when bitcoin was bearish every alternative coins were all bearish. Many speculators are saying coins is going to get inflow to altcoins by traders dumping bitcoin, I did not see this happen as when ever bitcoin get dump altcoins also get dump.
Bitcoin has influence on crypto market as well as altcoins all the coins are seeing the charts of bitcoin so that they can decide their future a lot of people are saying that altcoin is better I want to get answer how many of people across the globe will accept altcoin as they are already attached to bitcoin and on top of it bitcoin is the most profitable as compare to altcoins.

In fact, Bitcoin prices are affecting Altcoin's prices negatively. But I can not say the same for Ethereum prices. Bitcoin prices are going to be very similar to the prices of Ethereum. But many people have suffered from the price of Altcoin. After 25 October, everything can change.

It looks like people are "following the money". Investors in altcoins are making incredibly risky bets, so when they see a more mainstream and solid cryptocurrency on it's way high, then they will sell off their altcoin portfolio in and effort to raise the maximum amount of bitcoin. It seems like basic economics, obviously there will be some people who are entering and exiting the market too late, they are the ones losing money.

It seems that everyone sell to buy Bitcoin
I am just not sure to buy altcoins now,
I ll wait altcoins to drop further and buy it back

That is really the cool idea because now people are selling altcoin for Bitcoin because the value of Bitcoin is kept increasing so people selling for low and aiming for the higher return with the Bitcoin. I think if you can hold the coin for some more days we can even make more money when compared to now.

I think, many people are selling his altcoin and holding his bitcoin. That's why altcoin freefall and bitcoin will continue to rise. But, all going back in time.

when bitcoin price is up, altcoin price is down although not all altcoin will be down. people get panic when they see btc is down and they better to hold btc than altcoin but in different case, holding altcoin is good enough because when altcoin price is recover, sometime the price more higher than the last time. people is trying to earn bitcoin than altcoin because bitcoin is worth and we can cash out our bitcoin to fiat but altcoin could be our help to increase our bitcoin amount.

The increase in bitcoin prices is affecting the altcoins prices negatively. Because many people are selling altcoins and trying to get Bitcoin. October 25 is a very important date for split. If the split is positive, altcoins prices may fall too much.
It is going to be a positive fork in the sense that there will be free coins everywhere, hopefully if we see a wallet for it since for now there is nothing of such yet and I am not even hearing any single development on that part.
Once the fork is over and we are able to get our free coins, it will be another bullish ride for bitcoin as we dumped the shit free coin for the boss.

Well Bitcoin,as most recognized cryptocurrency, serves as a magnet for money flow into the market.
People are looking for next big opportunity, for next 'under the radar' coin which will make them lots of profits.
People generally, only when they hear about bitcoin pump, get interested in other cryptos, hence more investing and the price rise.

At this time we can see Bitcoin is rise to excellent price and the rising effect was very influential on altcoin. No wonder if so because altcoin follows bitcoin so whenever bitcoin rises then altcoin will go down. Investors are more interested investing on coins that have value movements that tend to rise.

This occurs because almost all altcoins are traded as pair with Bitcoin, so as the bitcoin price rises, the relative price of the altcoin will fall and trading becomes less profitable. Then, people sell their altcoins and HODL Bitcoin which drives the altcoin prices down even further.

Good luck and remember that as the shock of Bitcoin rising fades, the altcoins will catch up!  Tongue

For what i am seeing alts give to BTC and btc rise like really rise, but when i looked at the chart of btc everytime it goes down eth goes up so there's a possibility that the reason btc going down is because of eth and xrp going up.
That is not how it works, even the altcoins will go up very high, the price of bitcoin will not change and the only factor that makes the price of bitcoin goes down is the demand of the people in the market who are buying and selling bitcoin and it affects only the altcoins if the price will go up pretty high but if altcoins will go up then there is no price change in bitcoin.

In my opinion, most of the altcoins follows the flow of btc, so whenever the btc goes deeply the alcoins will also follow. Investors tend to do some decisions because of BTC's price.

It was just a matter of domino effect that bitcoin has been really hitting of, and if you are going to look on how it made altcoins go down the scenario is now taking into domination of all crypto currencies. That's why altcoins investors were now dumping their holdings due to the rising value of bitcoin so far. That's confirmed alternative coins were all bearish and for me its getting unstoppable now nobody can stop the pumping of btc value.

Bitcoin is the father if crypto currencies so people mainly focus on bitcoins so I think that bitcoins suffers a drop or dump its opens an opportunity to buy bitcoins in cheap prices so most of the people cash out their alt coins therefore alt coins suffers a drop. And also that for Bitcoin a fork is coming so people are trying to invest in bitcoins as much as they can so cashing alts coins might be an good option but maybe risky too. Also that alts coins has suffered a lot this year,I think mainly because of China banning ICOs which had a great impact for all.

My theory on it has always been:
-When bitcoin goes up, the traders cash out of altcoins to catch the rising price of bitcoin.
-When bitcoin goes down, the traders cash out of altcoins into bitcoin so they can cash out of bitcoin and into dollars.  With the plan to buy back into bitcoin when the price is low.

The only good time for alts seems to be when bitcoin stays still.  It's been a bad year for alts this year.
