Who knows, maybe I´ll start such a long running ponzi. Of course I´d call it something else. And i´d be in no special hurry to abscond with the funds.
Thats what i dont understand, why end it so soon ? Hell, i actually see a possibility of something like this (legit version) working, as long as the owner had advertising.. adverts every 8 mins, would help bring in income to the site.

Greed and quick money. And dishonesty.

But it doesn´t need to be so. If my ponzi could run for years I´d need a decent income from it of course.

Remember, I´m talking good returns here, nothing sky high. 1%/day is nothing to sneeze at though. if you keep reinvesting it for months or a year you get quite hefty compound interest.

And it wasn't suspicious at all that btc-flow had no ads at all xD
Just to make their money double people forget to check these little things and loose their money in the end.

This is close to what they all say as soon as they see the dollars though or should i say BTCs then they soon change from long term to short term  Grin

Still am annoyed with myself falling for this just hours before he runs lol

Ads won't bring enough money to make the ponzi sustainable.
Even with the popularity moonbitcoin has, it only gets about 1 btc a day from the ad banners. And for those less popular sites, it is good if they can get 1 btc a week.

A ponzi offering a realistic but still attractive yield of say 1%/day could run for quite a while. You´d need a hefty bankroll to begin with and of course incentives for investors to re-invest. Once it had run for say 2-3 months word of mouth and good record of payouts should ensure a steady flow of new investors. Heck, it could run for years  Grin

mm. If I remember correctly, MLM's are against the law, which is why so many companies push the whole "independent salesrep/affiliate" thing.

You remember incorrectly. MLMs are NOT illegal (at least not in all countries - all EU countries AFAIK allow MLMs as long as they are not built on the sole purpose of inviting people for their entry fee commission.
A great example is, again, AVON - all the sales rep are commissioned after their sales, not the entry fee. Or FLP - same MLM base, but better commission rates, AFTER sales. The key difference is that AVON reps are over-worked (at least here in Hungary), have to achieve a set monthly amount otherwise can say bye.

It is still not a Ponzi/pyramid scheme though, not entirely. Those are usually built on paying the commissions after the new members' entry fees, while MLM is pretty much paid after the product.

if u read topic title, it say PONZI , if u didnt know, PONZI means SCAM ... so u sent money to a thief from the start, he even said he will steal, its in the damn title ! LOL

agreed with you btc-flow is ponzi scam, not a original backed business,
when you gamble you are under risk of lost of money as btc-flow did.

this is not gamble ... gamble are casinos ... this is SCAM
No my friend. Scam is only when you are being deceived by someone. If you do not know that your are being used. With BTC-FLow site it is clearly that you are joining a Ponzi. You knew all along how this work. You do not have the right to complain about scams.

This.
People, learn for once that not ALL Ponzi or Ponzi-like "schemes" are fraud (yes, fraud, not scam). Yes, originally it was invented for fraud. Yes, a good 99% uses it for fraud. But there are well-working non-fraud Ponzi/Pyramid based companies operating (a great example would be Avon, Oriflame, Tupperware, and other MLM companies).

This one was obviously one of the 99%. Get over it.

In the interest of keeping this going till the 5k mark..
Look, money=scam.  95% of all money in the world right now is digital debt, backed by government bonds, held up by... kiss and promise?  The Greek crisis is the prime example, the vast majority of the money in that debacle has nothing to do with Greece itself but with the currency exchange leveraging in Europe.

Yeah, total world debt amounts to about 200 trillion dollars which equals about three times the annual turnover of the planet. And this bankrupt system "insures" itself with derivatives and swaps (basically insurance contracts)  amounting to many times that debt. Some say it´s 700 trillion, others 1.5 Quadrillion, nobody seems to know for sure. It sure looks like a ponzi and one that has been going for quite a while. I guess it´ll collapse when enough number of people lose confidence in it.

A quick overview of numbers

1,000,000 a million

1,000,000,000 a billion (US)

1,000,000,000,000 a trillion

1,000,000,000,000,000 a quadrillion

Many many people will remain without money once the owner achieved his targeted money and ran away.

As simple as that.
