It annoys me to no end that coins like this are getting attention and a gem like x42 Protocol is still a microcap.

When exactly this month the halving will take effect?

September 18, block number 1141660.

What we are expecting after the halving, is this halving can effect the price and the market cap? hope BTC2 attract more investors and traders, it's going to 3 years now that we are following BTC2 hope we're not lost our hope and trust for this coin.

do they double the amount needed for masternodes because of this?

no skin in this game but curious

brad

up 125% so I'm befuddled indeed. Smiley

No, the amount needed stays the same.

Also, as before, people can use 3rd party services such as Stakecube to own a part of a masternode and get a % of the rewards even with just 10 BTC2. Details at https://www.bitc2.org/bitcoin-2-masternode-guide

When exactly this month the halving will take effect? I wish it could give BTC2  a chance to recover it's price and value, and also if the halving will taking effect it will decrease the people hodling and owned a masternode to sell their coin. Hope it will help a lot and may bring back the old price.

Clueless!
There's an announced halving of block rewards coming this week. Price with the current level of volume is volatile, but over a longer period of time the halving should be price supportive as it will make BTC2 more scarce and there will be less reward selling.

Here's the link to the upcoming block rewards structure: https://www.bitc2.org/bitcoin2-block-rewards

Hmmmmm....

What is the big 'scandal' with BTC 2 now? Seems is it down to 21c per BTC 2.

I smell something..not sure what though. Details?

Glad to see the latest development and update by the Bitcoin2 team, I would like to know if there is an additional settings or it needed to change my current masternode settings in my wallet directory? or in my MN server provider?

No need to change settings. Just to update the executables.

This is staking Bitcoin fork, yes? How many coins I need to have and to stake it? Do I need wallet open and running or stake is
active when wallet isn't open?
I like this project, I am thinking about investing in some staking coins. For now, I am still researching, and I saw this ANN thread
while I was looking for interesting projects. Is there a way to earn BTC2 coins somehow?

0.01 BTC2 is the absolute minimum, but for decent results you'll need at least 100. there's a calculator here: https://vaultwatch.eu/detail.php?coin=btc2
For full rewards you could keep the wallet running or you can instead use https://www.bitc2.org/web-wallet/ or a third party service such as stakecube.com so that you don't have to keep any wallet running to stake.

Thanks for the info Jackleszz! I can start with 100 coins, it's not expensive for the try at the current price. I usually start with
$50 investments, more or less, and if I am satisfied with the project later I try to invest more.
You have a new update for wallet, I try to give advantage to hardware wallets when I can. Keeping it working all the time is the
price for safety here I think, and I am sure it's the best way! I don't like third-party services.

What confuses me about this BTC2 coin is the fact that this Bitcoin fork dropped from $ 35 to 4 cents last year. This is a very strong fall.

I think that is the most tragic fall of BTC2, as you can see the coin are still stable and resist the strong competition in the market, many of forks is now delisted in the market but BTC2 remain stronger.

September 3 2020 - Version 2.3 wallets released:

Mandatory update that needs to be done before September 17.

Details and downloads at Bitcoin 2's Github.

To update your wallet, you just need to download the archive, stop your wallet and let it fully shutdown, and then copy the executable files in the bitcoin2-bin folder to replace the ones you had installed already.

Masternodes also need to be updated.

I also believe in the success of bitcoin forks. Many of them are highly versatile cryptocurrencies and have a very good chance of success with investors.

As to BTC forks, recently, like in the last year or so...er...no....that ship has sailed IMHO.

If you do know of any, let me know, but BTC forks are completely out of favor now...and provide nothing in the way of return.

brad

I don't think forks are history. Many promising forks are also planned this year. For example, I read on Twitter that Ripple is scheduled to fork. Given the capitalization and mega-community of the XRP coin, I think it will be a big influx of money into the market. There are also some more promising forks.

As far as my knowledge concern, fork is made just to correct or to enhance the current code and platform of one's coin project, like BTC2 the dev team saw the flaws of Bitcoin then they made the fork just to add enhancement and some very useful features to it.
