get rid of the mouse instruction pop up.  i keep a small version of your chart open and the popup window blocks much of the data.

For most of this morning MtGox socketio was down.  Your site would load the history and current price on a refresh, and it would say it's connected in the upper left corner, but it was not really connected.  Every time I refreshed the page I got new data.  So I refreshed once every 10 minutes.  I'm sure other people learned this trick and then that cascaded into maxing your b/w.  Now that socketio is back up it shouldn't be a problem.
Exactly. I'm also refreshing like crazy in such situations so I have no problem when others do that Wink

Required BTC/USD to target price is back.

Edit: and just as I wrote that socketio on gox went down again due to volume.  Grrr.

http://www.btccharts.com/ are back online

I guess everyone started smashing F5 button today because there was no live data, so bandwidth jumped like 400%.
I was sleeping in that time, and my free quota was out of daily limit. Now I've moved to billable mode so such situations don't have place in the future.

If you see that there's no data for more let's say 300 seconds, and refresh don't fix stuff - send request to MtGox
Btccharts are very popular and maybe because of that their socket api is going down. But it's in their interest to keep this up and going, because when there's no data - there's no trading. So I hope this problems will be solved in a short time.

Expect new stuff to the end of this week.

2 things for your charts which i like better on mtgoxlive:

1.  once again, total USD's to reach a certain price
2.  the flashing of the trades going off in the top right of the chart.

you said what I thought

this is my job; figure out what ppl are thinking before they do!

I'm thinking mt. gox api is broken right atm

so is Bitcoinica in a red flag right now?

+1.  You need a USD scale and when you hover over some price, you need the BTC and USD needed to get there.  Flashing trades would also be nice.

However, I'm looking forward to your historical depth because that will be the most interesting feature.

i'm glad at least one person got back from the bank. Grin
its lonely around here.

Thanks for offer, but since I planning to make some profit from it in the future I rather stay "donation free"

And again - MtGox sockets are down...

ooooh and now a dark theme... (unless it was there before and i just didn't notice)
One thing i'd like to see is a big, "in-my-face" number in the upper right or somewhere indicating current price.  I like to keep it up on mah tee vee.
Huh, well - ok, in this week Smiley

With the quickness!  No more Mt Gox live for me!!!

Cool, this is like MtGoxLive 2.0!  New and improved.  Goes down smooth without a bitter aftertaste.

Also, let me see here... Yep, works well with Opera too :-D
Data is from socket.io which supports many browsers (thanks to flash in some way).

So if you used ActionScript, does that mean this is actually a flash app?
ActionScript is language of flash, so yes (there's also alternative language - haxe).

Is having Flash runtime installed a requirement for this?  Or am I missing something?
You must have FlashPlayer installed, and it's very unlikely that you don't have one since it's on 99% of PC/Mac.

....maaaan, data from mtgox is very crappy today. I'm seeing such thing first time.
