Just my review on Bitcoindark. I hope it could help someone =)
BTCDARK – http://www.cryptobang.com/2014/09/24/btcdark-the-cake-is-not-a-lie/

A lot of good points in your review, one thing I had a problem with is you say the price is "unstable". Yes, the price rises and falls a little as with every coin, but the rise is a constant growth. Instead of looking at the day or even week long charts, take a look at the over all growth of the coin as exhibited by this cryptsy chart

Hi! I mean that price can be overrated. BTCDARK is the most powerful among any of anonymous coins for today. But it is hard to predict the future of all the anonymous coins as well.

Please don't pump people.

I'm still trying to buy another 2.4 BTC worth below .013!

not sure if you'll make that cut. We're nearing .014 on polo now...

Hey guys seeing as I own BTCD and have contributed to the community on this thread
(just letting you know this is not FUD - BTCD is great) but if you want to make
some quick profit I would seriously recommend Stealthcoin. Price by wednesday
will easily be above 20, some are saying above 25. That I dont know for sure.
Its also a pretty good coin for holding if you wanted to do that.

Now BTCD lets see $8 - ready when you are  Cool

Ye buy XST so BOB can drop on our heads... nice move, you have to sell at your fellow people and not some random guys.
But keep trying to fool people that will show who you really are.

At the moment there is no Pump & Dump group inside BTCD you can see it on the chart line. Now check XST. There are at last 2 groups inside Stealthcoin.

Considering the huge dump on XST today, I would like to request a moderator ban the chicken65 account as that person is apparently using their account to deceive other users. And thank you @Stealthcoin for catching it first and trying to warn people.

That's a silly idea.

Dump wasn't Bob's group anyhow. The price drop was all about Mint Pal fizzling out, and large holders seeing an opportunity for a shakeout.

Funny how "Bob's Group" has become a psychological projection for so many people, the sum of all fears, the go-to explanation for all large market movements.

That's a cool idea james. I hope i can work for you someday when you are already a billionaire. Thats the time when bitcoindark is well accepted just like others are being interviewed in the news predicting to be a future billionaire because of bitcoin. I can be your driver,  housecleaner, secretary, cook, personal assistant etc. I will be accepting bitcoindark as salary. Smiley I hope you wont forget me when you get there Smiley

P.S. I am having university math professor analyze the anon level of Teleport. I know enough math to know I dont know enough to do the formal calculations, so hopefully by the end of the month we will have this indepedent analysis.

James, How did this turn out? I don't recall seeing the results of the analysis.

I havent heard back from him. So far nobody has found anything fundamentally wrong at the high level.

We will be having it code reviewed by somebody well known in the industry and verifying things at the detailed level is what is needed.

this will start as soon as I get a stable release

I added auto BitcoinDark.conf generation today to the test repo.  Smiley

Matthew

Is that why I didn't need to do anything special on the most recent Mac wallet download I tested today?

No, I only updated the source code. Haven't released a binary as it's still in development.

I'm thinking we'll just have a list of trusted, donation-funded nodes hardcoded into the source. If you don't have a BitcoinDark.conf, it will automatically create it for you and generate a random rpcpassword.

In that case there's almost no need for any installer anymore. Sounds nice!

The only thing I can think of that you might need, is an option somewhere in the client to rebuild the database of blocks. That way a normal user never has to do something outside the client.

I'm thinking that an installer is still a good idea, could help enable future features   Smiley

The end user should (hopefully) never have to go outside the client, I agree.

Is it necessary to make a BitcoinDark.conf file at all on a Mac?

Thanks!

If it is syncing appropriately, there is no need. A configuration file is not needed to run the client. Peers are stored in peers.dat.
