since my trial version of Parallels on mac ran out a week ago I'm back to my wallet on Mac. this trend was on parallel and now still happening on my staking on mac, I noticed that I'm getting more coins mined, about 25%-50% more! I'm wondering what's the reason, I thought maybe less coins were staking because of trading but at that time james and others were posting that like 90% are staking so can't be that. Anybody experienced the same or have an explanation? (I'm sure very happy with the extra btcd Cheesy)
Also since I'm still getting sometimes over 50% rejection rate, I wonder maybe this does not affect my gains much and my reasoning is that when a block is rejected, the staking coins don't get locked(?) and they already got a high weight so they solve another block pretty soon and only a little delay happens. Would that be right?

btw I changed my internet provider to a much better connection so not sure this is the reason in my case, maybe just the goeolocation away from the majority of the nodes..
I am almost sure the problem is that your old ISP (and my current one) was dropping connections and Windows has different timeouts than Mac, which allowed Windows to recover faster and resume staking

but I'm still having the same problem with a high rejection rate on Mac, I changed the company and switched from DSL to cable with a better connection. I hope this means I changed the ISP too?
Also is my understanding correct that: "when a block is rejected, the staking coins don't get locked and they already got a high weight so they solve another block pretty soon and only a little delay happens."?

Maybe split the work into half for each and you can proof read each other's work?

This sounds great! I have allready written "id10tothe9" a pm to give him that information!

I really like etherpads to work together with other people on a text. See https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/wiki/Sites-that-run-Etherpad-Lite.

Idea: Post darkpaper into it, seperate the english text into several blocks of a few lines each and put the translation of each block below the english one. What you write is automatically marked with a specific color, that makes it easy to see who wrote what.

ok nice! I created this: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/btcd_de
what is needed to be translated? the dark paper first?

I have some questions for jl777/dev team;

[snipped]

Seems to me there's no point reinventing the wheel. BTCD is integrating with the NXT blockchain which should allow it to do stuff like peer finance and voting, so why does BTCD have to redevelop those same features. Also, if a coin can do one thing (that people want) well, then that may be all it needs. This is ultimately about gaining real world adoption, not about adding stuff that altcoin investors might consider cool. If bitcoin users start using bitcoindark to teleport their funds, then that'll gain it a lot more adoption and value than adding feature after feature.
We dont know what is needed to crack the non-crypto market, but I know that I dont know what the magic application is. By making an "operating system" and making it as good as can be, then making sure we get as many devs making as many apps as possible (like AppStores) we can maximize the chance of mass market adoption.

I think we need to combine the above shotgun approach with a rifle approach and pick the big payoff target, which is corporate use of Bitcoin that is turned dark. Corporations dont use bitcoin since it is crazy to let competition know your finances in realtime. With teleport, that is not a risk anymore, so for the first time ever, there is a chance for corporations to adopt crypto. Also, let us no kid ourselves into thinking they will use BTCD. BTC is the only thing they will consider at first. In any case there isnt enough BTCD for corporate use, certainly not at our current marketcap.

So, we need someone to head up this corporate marketing/sales effort. It needs to be someone with experience selling to large corporations, maybe someone that already works in the finance dept of one of them?

James

P.S. also need someone to head up the AppStore initiative. Still in the formation stage as we dont have any framework for it yet, but we can maybe start defining some goals, required items, etc.

Is someone keeping track of those BTCD related todos? (I do partially.)  Something like trello?

trello is here, all the time:

https://trello.com/b/BPl2YkZV/bitcoindark-promo

still voting for:
BTER - vote: https://bter.com/voting
BTC38 - vote: http://www.btc38.com/trade/vote_for_trade_en.html

there is also a dev trello, unnoticed https://trello.com/b/Q1UH32GS/bitcoindark-development

Phew, implementing new features is tough work!

I've got a custom message type running in the beta build of btcd, and multiple nodes sending and receiving them. Once I pass the relevant data, we will simply need to link in the relevant libjl777 routines and pass them to it!

Any way we can get the heads up on which coins will be joining the network? I expect those coins to get a bump if they do.
yes I think people on this thread will find out about such coins
I will just make a post with the coin's symbol without any other text to indicate I think it is likely they will be joining the supernetwork
I wont answer any questions about what it means and nobody else should. So only regulars who read all posts will know the "code"

Been on somewhat of a BTCD forum hiatus over the last four or five days..... sure missed this place.... great to be back!!  Smiley.  Still have some catching up to do in the thread (was over 30 pages behind Shocked)..... the pages really started piling on with all the action we've experienced.

It's been great to live vicariously through everyone's emotions during these last few days.  Totally reminds me of the feeling I had reading the run of emotions the thread experienced after entering the 3PH zone during launch.  As usual, great work from the devs and amazing community!!

Peace
