I will code up the RPC command link so we can directly type in JSON to BitcoinDarkd and have it invoke the teleport API
that will allow manual testing of teleporting as soon as somebody else gets setup

I really don't think enough noise is being made about this.  Not only is this extolling the amazing features of BTCD as a currency in its own right, it is explaining how it can add anonymity to Bitcoin or any other currency for that matter.  Once the general Bitcoin community pick up on this, and realise that BTCD is not just another alt but a platform to benefit and complement BTC and other coins, it is going to see a HUGE surge in demand and price.  Roll on the media frenzy!

The more we wait here at this price level the more I want to go all in on BTCD and leave BTC behind.

http://209.126.70.170/teleport_test0

The above is a DEBUG version of BitcoinDarkd for Ubuntu. It runs on mainnet, so be very careful. I need just one or two other nodes. You need to make a jl777.conf file in the same directory as teleport_test0

Code:
{"MAINNET":1,"MIN_NXTCONFIRMS":13,"active":["BTCD"],"coins":[{"name":"BTCD","maxevolveiters":10,"useaddmultisig":1,"nohexout":1,"conf":"/home//.BitcoinDark/BitcoinDark.conf","backupdir":"/home//backups","asset":"11060861818140490423","minconfirms":1,"estblocktime":60,"rpc":"127.0.0.1:14632","clonesmear":1,"srvpubaddr":"","pubaddr":"","privacyServer":"127.0.0.1"}]}

you need to make two addresses, one for your public BTCD address "pubaddr" and one for your privacyServer's public address "srvpubaddr". any address that your BitcoinDarkd knows about is fine. Also change the to your username, it will use the path to check for the BitcoinDark.conf file and also to make backups. You might need to manually create the backups dir.

This is only to test that the new BitcoinDarkd runs on a system that is mine and initalizes properly. If all goes well, I should receive a pubkey broadcast and then be able to attempt teleports to your node. Most likely will need many more versions to allow proper reception of telepods, but gotta start somewhere.

Since RPC is not hooked up yet, you cant do much other than make sure it doesnt crash and initializes properly

James

P.S. It is quite verbose so I can see exactly what is going on. Also, you need NXT running on mainnet also, but no need to fund any accts, just need it running

how do you buy BTCD with these bots??? very difficult frustrating process

Very frustrating, maybe trades under a certain value should be blocked. You just have to be patient and your order will be picked up.

Price action will be interesting this week now that NXT has settled down. Darkcoin is dropping a like bomb, some disgruntled 'Darkies' might jump ship.

sorry about no updates for a while. All the chaos in NXT distracted me and then just got super tired, but now I am testing ubuntu BitcoinDarkd and it is fully hooked up with libjl777 and crashing Smiley

I will be debugging these crashes and when it is not crashing it should be at the functionality level of loopback teleporting. Then we get a few other nodes to test actual teleports between nodes.

James

Nice one Smiley
if anybody can build QT under Mac Os, we could use your help to build it using libjl777 integrated into it

What was your wallet address? So we can track to see where the coins went?

Sorry but with a total of 6 posts and all in this thread, seems a bit weird.
You can't give your address until you come back from vacation?
Exactly how do you know they are gone but can't provide info?

I'm on vacation right now till Tuesday.  What a great time for this to happen.  I shut my PC down till then.  I'll send you the address when I get back home.
I was logging into my computer TeamViewer from my phone to check my miners remotely.  I looked at my btcd wallet and noticed all my coins were gone. I have to wait till I get home to get my address because i then turned off my computer from TeamViewer and can't turn it back on till i get home

guy in Cloak lost 37000 cloak through a teamviewer sniffer.

Thanks for the pep talk. Well it's off to the Waterpark now with the family. I have to still enjoy our vacation

I personally think it is/was either...

(a) virus/trojan

(b) fud

If it was (a) then I truly feel for you I know I would be heartbroken if that was to happened to me. If its (b) then peeps have made better attempts to discredit BTCD and failed so carry on my friend.

But hey thats just my two cents, JJ

Guys,

My wallet just got hacked!!!  Is there anything I can do?Huh
I feel your pain buddy.  I had something like 8000 XPM stolen at a time when they were worth over $10k.  I had my wallet.dat cloned.  What was worse was that I was mining heavily and had many immature blocks and spent a day "racing" the thief to see who could transfer the coins out first as they matured.  My local wallet was encrypted and my machine was clean of trojans/viruses, so the conclusion I came to was that at some point early in my mining I had an unencrypted wallet.dat on a VPS somewhere and that I had left an image/instance alive, which was subsequently compromised.  It would have been months after creating the wallet.dat that it got cloned and it was certainly encrypted the whole time other than the first minutes/hours when I started mining.  Ah well.

I then managed to delete a BTCD wallet.dat after a few days of mining by fat fingering a shift+delete.  I don't remember exactly how much was in it, but I know it was well north of 20k, probably 24-25k.  Of course they have gone up in value significantly too Sad  That crucified me and it took a lot of courage to buy some back.  I now only hold a few k.  I wanted a lot more, which is why I mined so frantically with leased and borrowed rigs, but I simply can't afford it now.  Isn't crypto fun? Smiley

Incidentally how much did you lose?  Not that it matters, I'm sure it meant a lot to you no matter how much it was.

also be very careful when downloading wallets of new coins.
I never download a new coin's wallet as it might contain malwares that might steal wallet.dat of other coins.
everybody is rushing to solo mine and downloads wallet last minute.
I always mine in pools and leave my coins there for a couple of days, I read the forum in case someone posts some issues and then I download the wallet.
