I will be implementing a new POS algorithm at some point, but this so far is not requiring a hard fork. Some upcoming tech will require a hard fork, as well, hope to do it all in one shot.

Hi, can you share any info about this upcoming change to POS? Wondering how will the new algo work differently, and will it have a different annual %?

Thanks for all the hard work!

James was able to rewrite the internal communication of SuperNET this weekend to make it easier for Windows to handle. With this simple 32 bit clipping bug fixed, my work porting SuperNET to Windows is drawing to a close, as it is now working.

I will update the build instructions soon and post them in slack so supernet will be running inside BTCD. Once I get the nonbundled agents working I hope to release another demo video showing how we can query InstantDEX directly from BitcoinDark debug window and run the awesome html gui alongside btcd and Nxt. Things are really getting close.  Smiley

Matthew

Does this mean BTCD will be requiring a hard fork sometime in the future?
Or are all these new functions doable without ever needing a hard fork when this is all completed?

comeone ppl distribute some btcd to others dont be so selfish about price Smiley

were many months of opportunity to accumulate

This is true, the price was under 400k for some time.  Even dropped to 200k at one point.
The opportunity for discounted BTCD has passed.

I believe the saying goes something like... buy now or cry later.

It it a fair site? How do we know we don't get scamed?

Don't worry, you will get paid, but the algorithm is written that the site wins more then its users.

the GUI issue with teleport is the tracking of all the telepods and this is quite messy
also some issues with staking from telepods as that is like a beacon saying "here I am"
and then it messes with the outputs...
making it go from generic to unique
so we can get a non-staking teleport working first and then deal with some sort of delegated staking that is secure
but this is opening an attack vector

nippybrit - Nippy Brit (sprnt)BOT 11:30 AM
delegated staking = similar thing to the NXT leasing?
jl777 - james lee (sprnt)BOT 11:30 AM
not just from when your node is claiming a stake

cassius - cassius (sprnt)BOT 11:30 AM
Sure, good idea not to stake at first.
jl777 - james lee (sprnt)BOT 11:30 AM
yes to delegate the staking power to another address, but this is something not supported by the gen1 staking

azeh - Azeh (sprnt)BOT 11:30 AM
James, what elements are needed for Teleport GUI so I can pass those on to Onsightit and Rich and they can include them in the HTML GUI
cassius - cassius (sprnt)BOT 11:31 AM
Easy temporary solution and no big loss for a few telepods
jl777 - james lee (sprnt)BOT 11:31 AM
"easy" -> "easier"
soon I will have fundamental SuperNET ability to send an encrypted packet to everyone
using same code path as InstantDEX orderbook propagation
just adding an encrypt/decrypt process, this is actually easy
assuming attacker is monitoring the IP traffic, the sender could be correlated with using just that
so there would need to be a way to get the broadcast packet queued inside the relays and at some future time it is broadcast from there
ideally, there would need to be N possible senders before the broadcast is triggered, or you could just say that you dont care about protecting the sender's IP (ie you are doing it via 7 proxies bounced off a satellite from a public wifi)
but with a bit of work, I can get onion routing functionality within the relays, so even if they are compromised to some degree, it is resisted
I need to add sybil protection to relay linking so that as the relay network topology is dynamically created, the odds of a sybil node(s) getting incorporated is minimized
then the onion routing within relays are become possible
and then the protection of the sender's IP is also possible

jahl (sprnt)BOT 11:35 AM
would be neat if snowden used supernet for anonimity
jl777 - james lee (sprnt)BOT 11:36 AM
then both sender and receiver IP is protected
so when cassius says "easy", I changed it to "easier"
as even with the above, there is the GUI issue of tracking the telepods
do we want it like a normal transaction?
this transaction will be N telepods
and they are coming in over various times
and there could be some cases where you dont even know exactly who sent which telepod, but that overall A, B, and C sent a combined amount of X

jahl (sprnt)BOT 11:38 AM
was there a div i missed? someone send me 2.76 btcd
jl777 - james lee (sprnt)BOT 11:38 AM
so the total adds up to X, but only A, B and C know the ratio, you only know the total of X
then there is the issue of aging telepods
so you have an inventory of them ready to send
various modes to set
so I think it is needing pretty intimate GUI things and so I need some close interaction with the GUI dev
we should also have direct coinomat integration, so you can cashout telepods directly

Hi everyone,

Remember to come try out bitcoindarkdice.net, where 10% of profits go directly to BitcoinDark stakers!

We hope to have a good  payout this week! Bet limit is currently 20BTCD.

It it a fair site? How do we know we don't get scamed?

We don't really, I lost money but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam. I doubt it's a scam - at least no different than those slots in Vegas. Just keep in mind that it's designed to win, not let you win. You could come out on top, but most likely not.

Thanks, received my dividends once again.

BitcoinDark Weekly Dividends to Stakers

15 BTCD have been paid to 2,767 unique BitcoinDark addresses for successfully staking blocks 588906-599690.

Thanks to MM-BTCD and bitcoindarkdice.net for contributing this week's payment.

BitcoinDark is the only coin that pays Stakers dividends for staking and it continues to have a positive effect on network strength.
Please remember to have your wallets running and unlocked for staking in order to successfully stake blocks.

News for next week: BTCOR revenues for MM-BTCD were pushed back so expect a bigger dividend for next week.

I've been staking for over a week, why didn't I see a dividend - I mean, a divided of 15. I did see small interest dividends, but not the 15 btcd you're mentioning here.

thanks!

I think 15 BTCD is the total amount paid. So stakers got 15 / 2767 or 0.00542103361 each.

Ahh, I wasn't sure, is that definitely the case? Can anyone confirm? I guess every bit helps but that's a tiny fraction of what I get from interest.

I'll check my wallet when I get home.

Thanks, you home yet? Tongue

Yep, the last dividend I got was like .0069... I don't have a lot of BTCD. So, it must be prorated in some way, it for sure wasn't 15 BTCD per person.

Cool, thanks for the update. I think I'm seeing something about that size too.
