I do not care if it is the four of us or three, the minimum required to play, but that the point system has its own thing and adds "sauce" to the history of playing.

On the other hand, I think there is a majority (well, if!! a few more) they would try with the Q# and GTD system. That is, BPS.

I don't know if the fact that BCH is something new there in SWC and given those circumstances it can be organized in that way, to get sponsorship.

Although that changes the entire promotion, I think that being an alts, there are considerations, but, come on!! I just want to play poker on bitcointalk, efialtis do your magic, please. TY.
...

I understand what you wish to say... but Efi is a bit busy these days/months! I guess we can count on his help, but someone else needs to take that organization burden! Smiley To talk and organize a game, spreadsheet, keeping funds (if we make it as before buy-in + money for the final table).

Will we play this week again?!

Well, as they said, a good table is always preferable to play ...

-/Actually it is a privilege of 500 chips Smiley to have played with these champions for almost an hour ... but it seems that Thor hit with the  hammer in my region,so wtf,  no data, no wifi, at least for about 30 minutes, things that happen/-

... Betwrong, congratulations.

I will tell you what happened... Betwrong was invincible last night! He won all all-ins! Smiley And after losing one more time, I went all-in with 10 and 6... after some thinking, Betwrong called with 10 and 9! That was funny and even funnier was when he got that 9 I think and won the game! Congrats Betwrong!

I guess that you were short that you had to shove with 10 6 ? Its rare to see Betwrong would call with 10 9 as well.

You guys played poker yesterday - can you believe I completely "forgot" about it while I knew I didn`t have ressources to "promote" the game... oh my... Cheesy

I thought it was weird that it was only 4 of us and we are all from bitcointalk but atleast it was a great game. To be honest I'd rather play with 4 players like that instead had to deal with few 'variances'

Sorry, mate. (Btw, to me it also looked like you were just folding, not disconnected). Sorry that in reality you couldn't play.

Yeah thats what I saw as well. It didnt shows as sitting out but just plain fold. It wasnt instant fold either, sometimes it takes few second before fold so I thought famo was trying to play tight and kept on folding. It gets my attention when I realized how short he was and he kept on folding, thought that something was weird on that moment

Well a shame that the disconnection did not give me to return, although the blinds were still low and 10 minutes.
I think I had a chance ... whatever ...

... shame to go out like this ... without playing.

Again I ask:
On the other (poker) hand, when does the point system start, Q#, GTD Final Table?

Good question. I personally see our current tournaments as a warm-up before something similar to our usual Bitcointalk Poker Series, but for a GTD Final Table we need a sponsor, and it's not that easy to find one nowadays. @efi knows better regarding this matter, I'm sure.

Well not sure what was happening but congratulations Betwrong on winning a 3 handed tournaments  Tongue. I thought Iv4n was going to win because he had a huge stack and blinds were quite high already

Thank you, guys!

As I'm always saying, although poker is definitely not a purely luck based game, luck still plays a big part in it. Yesterday I was lucky and I won, but what I enjoyed the most was that it was really "a game between friends", as iv4n called it in the chat.

Good game! Thank you for playing, guys!

What exactly happened? I thought it was strange that you kept on folding. It didnt show as sitting out atleast in my screen so I thought you kept folding because you were trying to only play with premium hands.

@Iv4n : good hands with the KK and I knew that was coming with my AJ. I regret shoving it but I thought with 3 handed the AJ should be pretty premium there but I knew for the exact second that you snapped call my shove, my hand was pretty much beaten lol

I am not sure about "the point system start" again... who will play?! 4 of us?! Smiley

BTCGOSU last time you raffled 2 tickets, I am seeing that the tournament offers the possibility of Ticket, it would not be better to draw 10 tickets out of 100. (!?)

On the other (poker) hand, when does the point system start, GTD?

$10+ buy-ins = horrible players are rare, and they are usually out in the first hour. There's a possibility of encountering the best players in the world, because, although rare, they do play $10 buy-ins from time to time. $10 is like the lower limit for them, I've never heard about lower buy-ins.

Depending on which site you are playing at. I've played in one site that had alot of those REC LAG player combined even at $55 buy-in tournament. Those are the type of players that wont fold even with a low pair so trying to bluff on these players might backfire unless you are in a deep run

We have a GOSU poker game going this weekend

What about the buy-in for this tournament? will it stays on 500 chips? If we are using $25 instead of flat amount in chips, it would be 600-700 chips at the current bitcoin rate It seems it stays on 500 chips flat, great

Anyway I will join this and hopefully win this time so I can get some more chips for the next one as well ( my last two rounds was kinda sucks and I played like a donkey lol ). See you guys on the felt  Smiley

I get your point, $25 for a poker ticket is expensive for many people! Well, it's an old discussion, low buy-in = not so good poker, higher buy-ins = better players, better poker!

I absolutely agree with this, but here's what I think about the correlation:

Free rolls = enormous amount of horrible players and not enjoyable game as a consequence;

$0.5-$2 buy-ins = it's better, but almost the same;

$3-$7 buy-ins = it's way better, almost no annoying shovers and stuff like that, pretty much enjoyable game;

$10+ buy-ins = horrible players are rare, and they are usually out in the first hour. There's a possibility of encountering the best players in the world, because, although rare, they do play $10 buy-ins from time to time. $10 is like the lower limit for them, I've never heard about lower buy-ins.

In addition to that, I've watched many games with $1,000+ buy-ins and there are those "horrible players" there too. Unfortunately you can't eliminate them completely with higher buy-ins.

In short, $10+ buy-in can provide a decent game, in my opinion.

I agree. A 10$ buy-in seems to be a good optimum, as higher amounts can become too costly if it is a regular tournament.
Would be cool to play with players such as Phil Ivey with a 10$ buy-in. Would give a major kick, if you won some hands against these guys  Grin

I will but I'm not going to be able to play.
I'm preparing for a project here on the forum that I will be running soon and therefore I haven't got time to other stuff (life outside, work, family and such is quite demanding as you may know!)

$25 for a ticket is too much for me to lose every week.

$25 for a poker ticket is expensive for many people!

25$ seems like a sweet spot for me but I would be fine with anything from 5$ to 100$.

$25 for a biweekly poker gathering is pretty much standard. It was something around $12-15 weekly for the last poker series in another site so yeah. The chips buy-in probably increase soon though because the buy-in is pegged to bitcoin and currently the price is lower so instead of 500 chips it could be 550 chips for a $25 tournament

Buy-in ~25 USD in Bitcoin (500 Chips at SwC)

Thanks, Bet! Third place is not bad, but I will try to take that 1st place next time... Smiley

I saw in chat that Roykan and Mathematics are random guys from SwC poker... they joined telegram while we were playing!

That's always an ongoing discussion. I think you need a buy-in to eliminate the freerollers (going all-in all the time), but maybe 25$ is a little bit too expensive.
Maybe if the buy-in 5 to 10$, there will be more players...
Free rolls are the worse, you always get bunch of multi accounts going all in on every other hand or sleeping until their main account gets rektd. Never gonna join one of those again. 25$ seems like a sweet spot for me but I would be fine with anything from 5$ to 100$.

Thank you! And congrats on finishing ITM! Smiley

Are these guys, @Roykan777 and @Mathematics2, bitcointalk members? (I'm just curious, I know it's more like GOSU Poker Game )

... Overall, the more I learn about poker, the more I see how it resembles life: your skills and strategies are very important, but you will hardly succeed without some luck.

Well said! It's what I repeat for years, everything is gambling, just games are different!

I see the next game is in 10 days (May 23, 8:00 PM)! That sucks a bit, but I guess we will find something else to do this weekend! Smiley

Actually I like that, and overall I'd rather prefer it was a fortnightly event. $25 for a ticket is too much for me to lose every week.

I'd love to know about that too, as well of the previous tournament. It looks like no one wants to post it here for us. Smiley But it is so much more fun when we can see who finished ITM!

I can promise that if I finish in the top 2, I'll post the results here, and I call upon everyone, Do the same, guys!

Here it is:

1. Roykan777 (won 250 chips bounty for Trofo)
2. Mathematics2
3. Iv4n
4. Trofo

Little tip: In the SwC client, go to the Game tab (third from the left) and then click Hand history! A new window will pop up and you will see  Tournaments, it will show all previous tournaments you played!

Thank you! And congrats on finishing ITM! Smiley
