True but you have to have a large bank roll. They're greedy, once they finish you out, they're gone. They have no loyalty.

I would like to discuss the flow of new blocks through the network, and through the software, and the interface between the reference software and miners. If anyone is up to speed on that software, I'd like to know.

For various values of "up to speed," I am available.

I propose this version for the discussion, as it is the most recent public bytecoin repository.

These three addresses were submitted and found on the previous blockchain:

Code:
8cjdcPw3JHVE8rRAKuUoQ2dwVARDatyc3S
8FcDgSQprNhrCKLPyhNfie853xYRJ3fGeF
8Lm61kdTJPAenpV3s6L3d88yStiuk9Y6Rd

You may still submit a previously mined  address if you wish.

In the event that I mine BTE block 58115, I might pay some to a previous miner.

You can submit a previously mined address for consideration at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ZA9a38yBlsQaN5HjaPo5idegVO85m-RqCoFuGTWNjXo

--- clarification 2017-12-20 ---

For example, one of the submissions begins 8Qmq.  This address does not show up in my database of coinbase transactions.  Again, any submissions should be for addresses that have previously been paid by mining, e.g., the transaction is in transaction 0 of the block.

I have
heightaddressearnings
71898QmQTRcwoq6PFw2Qm3pAXdrXMegPDzzQ9750.00000000
84388QmQ6nfi6uHRKF05ayyFrJZK4hq2KNY14n50.00000000

bytecoin would likely go the bitcoin core way. when i wanted to update bytecoin to fix 1/2 the bugs and atleast make it atleast usable everyone was completely against it, so seeing as i was the only dev willing to work on it, i dropped it.

Is a block explorer going to be made available?

This coin is not compatible with blockexplorers, sorry.

It should be able to have a block explorer being a BTC clone shouldn't it?

I am always grateful to people who create branches here not just to talk about some things ,but branches are really useful.thanks to author! given that in the last month bitcoin has fallen quite low.  resources about this cryptocurrency are useful and popular.

I do not understan. Can you elaborate a little more?

A search of this thread reveals several that were up and running during the early days of BTE.

Is a block explorer going to be made available?

This coin is not compatible with blockexplorers, sorry.

It looks like it has possibilities except that almost half the coins are in one wallet. Most people pass on monopoly coins.

Okay, it would be great to get this up and running again as proof of resilience.

Technically, it is up an running now.  Blocks are being processed, transactions get confirmed.

I'm down for a while.  OS update taking longer than expected.

Prof, how far away are we for next difficulty adjustment?

At the current mining rate, more than a year.

Can you share your calculations?

At the rate of 2 blocks per day it looks like the retarget is sooner than "more than a year"

I grabbed some data.
Code:
block 58250, timestamp 1529219483
block 58150, timestamp 1523062269
61,572 sec / block, or 17.1 hr/block
29 * 2016 - 58250 = 214 block to retarget
214 * 17.1 = 3,660 hours to retarget
--> 152 days.

Now we are talking Prof! Excellent
