Although it seems the recent downward (not for long i think) trend of share prices reflect that people got a little too excited at your previous wonderful news, it's great to see that divvy slowly rise as you continually tweak the miners! Appears that BFL prefers to be all nekked.  Tongue Keep it up man.

Can you enlighten us on any upcoming plans for BASIC's BTC reserve?

Hi MilkyLep. I'm pursuing some leads, but nothing concrete to report at this time. With the recent expansion, coming batch 3 Avalon, and the current hot weather here in MI I've had to focus on running new circuits to keep our gear chugging along nice and cool. I'm curious to see where estimates for the next difficulty re-target end up. If the network continues tacking on hashes at the rate it has been then we'll have to be careful not to overpay for anything save the most efficient gear available.

Cheers.

I bought a few shares of BASIC back in May.
When I pulled up BTC-tc over the weekend I choked on my drink and spit it all over myself.
Now my family is finally starting to get interested in btc investing (i know, i've been pushing them for a year+ now).

Thank you creativex for the awesome work!!   Cheesy Cheesy

TY, couldn't have done it without you guys. Smiley

It seems the singles aren't playing well with a couple of my chosen pools. I've set a portable AC unit to blow directly into their intakes and switched them to mine strictly at bitminter, where they seem very happy. This will likely cause our variance to increase, but we're now getting much closer to rated speed from the singles. I've switched the configs on the Avalons around to compensate.

This is just the Single SCs.

Edit: According to the kill-a-watt the singles were drawing 1094w from a dedicated 120v circuit when I snapped that screenie. While I've been very critical of BFL the efficiency is pretty sensational. These are likely to be hashing for us for a very long while with those kind of numbers.

Cheers.

When the next avalon arrives can we get a "family photo"  Smiley ? Or they are far to apart ?

Too far apart at present. I moved av1 to make room for the singles as I didn't want any downtime from tripped breakers, then I moved the singles away from av2 & av3 for the same reason. I'm running some new dedicated circuits to deal with the load. If Avalon is serious about completing batch 3 shipping two weeks from Monday(unlikely) then we could have our four module monster very soon and I intend to be ready. I should've snapped off a pic when I had all three Avalons stacked nice and tidy like. Not the prettiest thing you ever saw since I added some wooden struts between the rigs to allow more airflow between them, but it did seem to cut temps.

All four singles are caseless and 4-8c cooler. It remains to be seen if and how much increased performance this will translate into.

I'm going to lower the expected output of the BFL units. Their real hashrate over the past 18 hours has been closer to 55Gh/s than 60. Perhaps if they're better cooled they can reach higher speeds, but we're not getting 60 out of them at this time.

Nasty Mining also gets about 55 Gh/s from each such units.

Yeah, I think he's stripped them nekked too...the stock cooling isn't cutting it. I just got spoiled by the slick way in which Avalon designed their boxes, with them it's not a question of whether they meet spec or not, but by how much they exceed them. The singles are going to make me work to meet their rated speed.

Cheers.

Yes - it looks like he has.

I've stripped one of the singles and replaced one of the two fans(intake) with a beefier adda unit. It's only been hashing for about 15mins in this state, but temps are down 5-6c with a slight drop in HW errors. The cases are trapping heat, but it remains to be seen if they're better off with higher performance fans with or without enclosures.

Cheers.

Well, the magical 1.00000000 Bitcoin mark wasn't touched yet, so I save the champange pictures for now, but BASIC-MINER surpassed AM in volume, at least for the last 24 hours. Wink

creativex, not really a need, but maybe nice to have: do you keep hashing statistics somewhere? Like daily average? Those 445 GH/s from the spreadsheet aren't live, right?

Hi deX7. No they're not live. I've been logging data from the Avalons into a spreadsheet since the first two were delivered, but in tuning them I've been more concerned with diffa/time than questionable hashrate displays since that's how we get paid. For the BFLs I still have very little data.

Cheers.

Growing pains aside, we still mined 7.81012571 of which 70%(5.46708800) will be paid out to virtual shareholders today.
