sundownz: Why not use the built-in RDP in Win 10Pro?

Complete the RDP with that https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44989
and no need for any teamviewer crap.

Sundownz,

Admiring your setup!  Can you advise on what you run on these systems?  What OS? Are you on a network with a domain controller, or just workgrouping them together? Are you running any anti-virus on them?  What apps are you using to mine and manage your rigs?

-Good to know your build can withstand the NC heat; I am in Richmond, VA, so pretty much in the same boat.

Thanks for the ideas!

Paul

Paul,

1) Windows 10 Pro on all systems - I keep them all 100% updated as well.

2) I use built-in Windows Defender & also my whole network is behind a hardware firewall

3) Right now I user a variety of miners:
    a) Nemosminer on all nVidia GPUs - running on ZPOOL
    b) I use Cpuminer 2.4 on all my CPUs to mine Yescrypt - running on ZPOOL
        * I used to do ITNS on all my CPUs but had issues getting IP banned on the pools... but Yescrypt is doing me well.
    c) I use SGminer on most of my AMD GPUs for Cryptonight (ITNS)
    d) I do have one system with 3x VEGA-64 and I use Cast-XMR on it (ITNS)

4) Right now I don't have any remote admin capacity setup but I am working on that after my vacation:
    a) I am looking into the iBOOT Web PDU units : http://dataprobe.com/iboot/
    b) Software side I am looking at either putting Team Viewer on every system or getting minerstat.com setup
    c) Right now... I check my pool stats to see if miners are online and I have someone at work reset them if needed & I'm not around as my mining setup is at my business.

How much you spend for the electricity ?

Asking the important questions here. Cheesy

It is around $1000 USD / month approximately.

@Sundownz - Just to confirm, you've not been able to get any TI (1070TI, 1080TI) cards working on the Z400 , have you?

I think they may require UEFI.

Wanted to see your take on this?  Thanks!

I actually have 21 pcs of the 1070 Ti cards on my Z400s running no problem so far.

There is a MUCH more recent BIOS available... I always flash mine to version 3.6 before adding hardware.

That's a cool setup Sundownz.

I like your idea of a modular setup using PC's with just a few GPU's and then just trying to do as many as possible.

Just found a source for T7500's @ $125...  I see a single mention someone earlier in the thread; just wondering has anyone had success turning a T7500 into a mining rig?  They seem to be close to the T5500 in design...

$125 ?! I can't find them for any cheaper than 275+ EUR Sad so that's a steal! Especially considering this ...

Dell T5500 is the equivalent of a HP Z400-series
Dell T3500 is the equivalent of a HP Z600-series
Dell T7500 is the equivalent of a HP Z800-series

... and T7500 seems to come with 1100W PSU by default. And with two PCie 16 slots with upto 225W (instead of 150W of HP Z400) out of a total of the similar 4x PCie according to http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/workstation-precision-t7500 . It sure has great perspective.

I just bought the last two T7500's for $100 a piece.  Starting my build soon...

So...how many GPU's can you fit inside a DL380 with the PCIE expander?

Or does anyone know of a "budget" second hand server that can fit GPU's inside with the case closed?
All of the GPU/compute setups are either impossible to find or are $2k+ for the chassis

I'm using Rosewill 4U setups right now and they're awesome, but finding something like a DL580 for cheap would be cool  Cool

Awesome Rigs!!

Curious what algos you like at zpool for the nvidias?

Right now X17 is killing it... but I do have 18 algos to switch between. I'll share which ones they are when I get home -- currently in Mexico.
