What could be the crypto-economic sense of a Whoppercoin?
I mean what could be interesting about a Burger King coin is the mining...However it'd be done.
Otherwise I have no idea yet if it's more than a marketing move.

so can whoppercoin be traded like a regular cryptocurrency? It will be interesting to see more big corporations incorporate cryptocurrency into there business. Corporation adopting crypto could be what really pushes the crypto market cap to the next level.
That's a nice marketing instrument. Buy more burgers to get special coins and you can use the coins only in the same restaurant chain. But what would happen if suddenly some exchanges start to list and trade this coin? Price would rise up and people would buy burgers like crazy just to get the coins and sell them to others. 
It would be a win/win.
This should work similar to a loyalty program (reward points) or amazon gift card where you can buy/sell the gift cards in open market or use it with amazon itself.
I think it's just a very good publicity stunt and nothing more. 
I am really wondering if this is legit Burger King business. Or just private Burger King franchiser's own idea. This is definitely good news but we should treat it sanely. We need more details about it.

I think this is like a new reward pointing system for those loyal customers of burger king wherein you can accumulate points on buying foods of burger king then you can use the accumulated points as payment when you buy again in Burger King. I find it new and exciting. Though we can't trade it unlike the regular token that we knew.

i didn't understand that. why they just didn't make a BurgerKing-Card ? Use your BK-Card when you buy something at BK and get points? it makes no sense to use Waves for this thing. and we are sending receipt as e-mail to burger king. lol. it isn't practical..

I think the whoppercoin that will be introduced will be based on waves. Is it already available? I think this is still on its planning stage. This will be introduced soon but it is not yet offered in whatever Burger King outlet in Russia.
The token is already released on the Waves network and available on the DEX.
Now BK is working on the infrastructure (android & iOS app) to handle the loyalty program with Whoppercoin.
