any free faucet to play?

Unfortunately not, we now require all users to deposit to play Sad

In the past we had a faucet, but unfortunately it attracted a lot of the wrong sort of people (abusers and professional beggars) so I removed it, which had the unfortunate side effect of making it annoying for new players to try the game (wait for a deposit). So in the near future (~1 month), I'll add a small faucet (with a limited amount of claims per ip address) to assist with trying the game

I see a lot of people practicing playing on Bustabit playing on Bustaclam using Freebitcoins faucet to play.

I can totally understand why bustabit doesn't have a faucet on site, but I can also see the importance of being able to practice.

But to the "try out the game" end, why not build a playmoney client?  You already have the code, seems like it should be easy to throw up a build that just never has access to the hotwallet and give everyone X number of playmoney chips.  You can get ads to get extra revenue (and/or use captchas to have people top off their balances) and I'd imagine you'll get a handful of people who think they've created some sort of super system that deposit and try it out on the main client.

Yeah, actually that's what I've been working on today. I'm planning on having a permanent test.bustabit.com which will operate a complete clone of the site (but in total isolation) but with bitcoin testcoins, instead of real bitcoin. But it'll allow depositing/withdrawing/investing, so that it'll not only will it be a good place for users to screw around with "fake" money, but give me a good way to do live-deploys and test buggy code, get feedback etc.

Will it utilize bitcoin testnet coins?

I would personally prefer test credits given to each user but I doubt this is a bad idea either. I'm just not sure if a large portion of users is familiar with testnet. Is it easy to acquire them?

Otherwise I'm glad to see the progress. Looking forward to the next version. I feel it's going to be a success especially with you handling it!

Why would a business want to cater towards people whose goal is to not deposit?

There's actually a few pretty cool people on bustabit who have never deposited and unquestionably make the place a better and more interesting place. But most of them are interested in the maths/game concept/bonus hunting strategy stuff, rather than being focused on becoming rich off free money, or what not. Actually one of them was a mathematician who helped me solve (read: did it for me) a maths problem I had been struggling with for the last 6 months  Grin

So i definitely don't mind if people have no intention of ever depositing, I've just had a bad experience with the sort of people who are professional fauceters  Grin

That's my point...you don't cater towards those people.  If people want to hang out that's fine (although I'll be honest, I've never once seen any "cool" people in the BaB chat, it's mostly people begging for dust) but you aren't going to give money to people who are never going to give you their action...it's just not smart business.

Yeah, I'm rather against deposit bonuses. I've really yet to see any that aren't traps for players, and they'd be better off playing without them. I feel like the best (and most honest) thing I can do, is keep the house edge as low as economically possible.

I do plan on bringing back the faucet however, but in a limited form. The way I've coded it so far (which is subject to change) is you'll get 5 claims per ip address. Once an ip address has claimed a faucet more than 5 times, it's forever locked (for that ip address)

The primary point of this, is it should give most new players a chance to try the game without depositing (assuming they're not using a shared ip that's already burnt the faucet) but it'll not be a big target for abuse or professional fauceters  Grin

yes it should give.
i know bustabit and pocketdice at the same time, why i just play pocketdice?
because ppl give free faucet.
at the starter i will use the advantage and try not to deposit fast.

Why would a business want to cater towards people whose goal is to not deposit?
I means ppl can use free faucet to try it before deposit. If u love it then u will deposit .
Free faucet cant let u earn but can let u know how to play the game.

Not a bad way to make 10.8 BTC:

Thats a large wager on a 109x hit. Some users cashed out at 1200x as well, but with smaller wagers it looks like.

So in the near future (~1 month), I'll add a small faucet (with a limited amount of claims per ip address) to assist with trying the game

You could do something similar but just add a 5 bit or whatever balance to every new registration from a new IP address. No faucet abusing, unless they make a lot of accounts and shoot for a 200x or something, and new players will see from the start without needing to use a captcha or ask where the faucet is.

I think you could add a deposit bonus: it is not a faucet but you could attract more players. Who wants to try out your game will be pleased to have a bonus to rely on. Give it a thought  Wink
Bustabit can have an extremely low house edge, so it would require a huge wagering requirement to make it close to neutral EV. People won't be pleased if they have to wager their bonus 500 times, and Ryan wouldn't be happy if people kept creating new accounts to take advantage of +EV bonuses

exactly. a deposit bonus is a bad idea looking at how the site is made.
I think the best option would be to have a ~5 bits faucet per day per IP (if balance is <1 of course).

I'm wondering if you notice any impact on site play when there are wild swings in bitcoin's price? It's been steadily appreciating since early 2016 up to over $1100 yesterday, then suffered a 20ish percent drop in a few hours before swinging wildly in the 900s. Is the gambling seem pretty steady through all this, or do you see less (or maybe more) when there are wild swings in price?

Congratulations to dudaxmaimons who has continued his 19x martingale to an amazing 238 bitcoin (..and counting)

Wow, that is quite an impressive win streak he has going there. He has avoided the dreaded martingale fail so far I see.

Martingale has failed him quite a few times. Seems like the comeback was mostly due to some lucky yolo Tongue I think he went from +170 to +70 once.

Oh that is some crazy swings in profit. Yeah, I was surprised that martingale would have lasted him that long, but he certainly has quite a bit of luck if his yolos are keeping him in profit.

any free claim to play ?

I don't believe the site currently has a faucet. You will need to deposit to play.

(Sorry, I don't like to advertise much. But I feel it'd be a waste of the $133000 USD I lost last night to not do so  Tongue)

He got balls. some serious titanium balls. Also seems like his strategy is working fine. Too much lucky to make that high.
