I am still looking for someone do make a Linux installer... Nice Bounty Available.

Yes, it would be nice to one day just type
apt-get install c-note

but I guess we are still far away from that day that it gets included into Linux distros.

What I have done there with my manual is far from being an installer,
because there are so many steps involved.

But the walletd is built completely from the source, and it's actually working.
So until you have an installer, this is already a valuable contribution, don't you think so?

Try out the very first one at the top (duckduckcoind).
As every comment is #'ed you can actually take the
whole thing and copy paste it in one go into an SSH session.
However, I prefer to go step by step, to see if there were problems.

I am learning all this myself, so why not document it.

What do you think?

Have you seen the one for Fz?  that guy nailed it

no..take your .dat file out of the folder and stick it on your desk-top...
Reinstall, then put the .dat back in...
Pull out the newly installed one form the re-install and trash it

ok.  I will wait.
here is a quick peak at the error message in the log
ERROR: CheckProofOfWork() : nBits below minimum work
ERROR: CBlock::ReadFromDisk() : errors in block header
*** Failed to read block
oh... you have another issue... there... let me look into it...
Easiest thing may be to trash your copy....download it again...looks like a corrupted file of some sort...
waiting an hours wont help that issue

ok..let it sit for an hour.... just give some time... the seed node only has 30 connections right now...and it set for max 50... so there is room...
let it try on its own... with just that one line in the .conf file...

did u save the .conf file as "read only" - that will also help on some machines...

My wallet ran fine last night but now will not open with a failed to read block error.  I am using Windows 8.  Any suggestions?

It seam like Win 8  needs the .conf file to have a user name and password in it... not sure why....
what is your .conf file look like?
and do you have it in the roaming folder?

File location is C:\Users\Allen\AppData\Roaming\C-Note
Conf File:
gen=1
rpcuser=cnote
rpcpassword=x
listen=1
server=1
addnode=70.191.156.43
addnode=69.85.86.195

try with just this one line:
seednode=70.191.156.43
Same error
