I think it is impossible, this is because in space there is no life so bitcoin will never use and in space there will not be able to buy anything,,,,  Cheesy
first of all it doesn't matter if there is life in space or not, to be honest there is life in space, because just think about all the aliens and the astronauts. The only thing that is vital for bitcoin is the internet and as far as I'm aware there is no internet in the space, thus it would be impossible to use bitcoins there. Though it would be able to use other cryptos that you create yourself by mining blocks with a pen and paper.

I searched for this on the internet and seems interesting:

Quote
“They have laptop computers, including one in their personal sleeping quarters, which they can use for limited web access—email, tweeting, and news,” David Steitz, a spokesman for NASA, told me. “They also have tablets onboard they can use for various operational tasks, but also video conferences with family and friends on the ground.”

Based on this bitcoin can and can't be used in the space station depending from the people in ground what kind of permission do they give to astronauts, if they allow accessing the blockchain then yes they can use bitcoin in space.

But basically there's no reason to use bitcoin in the space as there you can't buy or purchase anything, lol.
I agree. There needs are provided and there's no reason for them to possess Bitcoin in space. Also there are busy finding some extraterrestrial planet, monitoring the solar flares, examining some mysterious phenomena in the universe and etc. So basically their plate is full and have no time to this kind of thing. I'm not saying it can't be but more like they don't use it.

Basically the money does not worth anything in the space, what would the astronauts buy or sell in the space, and from who?

So there is no room for other currencies like bitcoin or others to be used in the space, it's just absurd.

But we can't say that there won't be made any bitcoin transaction in the future but hits only for fun and maybe to break any genesis record.

Why would someone want to use bitcoin in space? They have a lot of other things to worry about rather than using bitcoin Tongue Don't see any use of bitcoin/fiat currency right now lol. And yeah, as long as you are able to get connected to the internet (the connection situated inside the the earth) you will be able to use bitcoins.
I think everyone can agree that it's still a bit too soon to imagine Bitcoin being used in space, but it's certainly a possibility in the not so near future.
Once we have established colonies on other planets or on new space stations, it won't be long before we see Bitcoin being used in space.

Just curious, since the Internet is mostly an Earthly thing... would astronauts be able to access and transfer their Bitcoins whilst traveling throughout the solar system?

I don't think the internet is only an earthly think. Space travel involves the use of the internet too. But first before we ever think of getting Bitcoin to space, let's ensure that it has got a wide acceptance here on earth with various countries adopting it as legal tender.

It's never too early to learn new spaces. If bitcoin gets into space and the mass media will tell about it, it will become a sensation that will bring great popularity to the cryptocurrency. I'd like it to happen

Can't help but to laugh.  Certainly agree with why they would use bitcoin in space rather than doing things more important.  But what if they want to buy a pair of pants when they went back to earth online.  Or they want to buy some presents for the family member who will celebrate special occasion.  But the question is, is the internet connection good in outer space?

This is a thing that can be done when they have internet access. In accessing bitcoin the most important thing is to have internet access, this is the advantage of bitcoin. Bitcoin can be accessed anytime and anywhere, provided we have internet access.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!

Just curious, why would anyone want to use Bitcoin in space? There is nothing to really do there plus if you are the only person in space then why would you need Bitcoin or fiat up there?

I would figure that a person that is lingering around in space would be really rich already and he/she would be well supplied to survive a lifetime without the need for going back to earth for scheduled supply pickups and the such.

Maybe if we talk for the next decade, you will definitely find the answer, I believe humans will someday form a new life on planet mars or in galaxy orbit because the earth is getting aging and damaged, and I think the coins and papers are really completely replaced into digital currency, and in this case bitcoin is the only currency that can survive globally.

What if i tell you that there is a possibility for the people here to make a living outer space like the project about the mars where the people will try to survive in mars and because of bitcoin they can easily transfer money from the outer space to earth without having too much traffic and effort because internet and bitcoin is the only requirement.

Yes, and perhaps the whole space trading (not just between earth and mars) will be based on bitcoin.

Well, I think you are underestimating the efforts of people like Elon Musk. Yes, there is no life in the space but still we can always send the humans from the earth there and they can use bitcoins. However, since the launching group (NASA, SpaceX etc) makes sure that everything that astronauts will need in his journey is available in the shuttle craft so there in no need to buy it from the space (Yes, a leading pizza restaurant chain is planning to establish their branch on the moon).

If people make an online shop in space, maybe bitcoin used for shopping, but I don't know if it is happened I'm not sure. Because if me in the case I cannot use my time going to space I just used my time to earn income in bitcoin.
