Bitcoin will continue to exist. The cryptocurrency market is developing rapidly, and now more and more people know and join it. Although the government does not block Bitcoin, because it is the fastest and safest anonymous transaction, many people still invest in Bitcoin.

Alright I just finished one thread from a bloke talking about the "end of Bitcoin". I mean he asks if this is the "end" of Bitcoin because of the "great downfall", and now we have another one. Well, from the looks of it our Bitcoin thread is full of blokes who are not trusting of the cryptocurrency so they do some panic post about their FUD and maybe they are up to make weak hands of the others here as well. Well, many here have seen many "corrections" - and this is the right term, not the downfall or end of Bitcoin s*it they peddling in the forum. Please, do me a favor and sell all your Bitcoin so you can get your money back.

Governments can't do anything except upto a limit to regulate crypto and Bitcoin, they can't chase it till infinity because quite simply, Bitcoin is way above their league, literally, they can't control or regulate it. But the bad thing is, Bitcoin is limited and will only continue till 2130 I think, that's what gives it value but something better will replace it, so the legacy will continue till we see the end of the world I guess Grin

There are a couple of things they could do like restricting stores from accepting it. There is nothing you can do as a store owner if Government doesn't allow you to take anything for payment other than the national fiat currency.

This should not be a threat to the government, precisely with the existence of stablecoins the government must be able to innovate by creating its own digital money and must be able to compete in order to make it easier for its users by charging cheaper transaction fees.  The existence of cryptocurrency is able to provide business opportunities, the government should not prohibit or destroy stablecoins instead the government must be able to provide strong support for it

The pros and cons of Bitcoin will always be there, because many are misusing Bitcoin, that is the main reason the government cannot fully accept Bitcoin

Yes but if they create their own digital currency they can pursue every single step we do. Who wants that?

They can only force us by law to use their digital currency or they can allow for Bitcoin to be relevant and finally allow us to use that digital money on a daily basis!

I would love to see regulations that favor Bitcoin!

Bitcoin represents the human free will and the government had policies to suppress Bitcoin, but they were unable to.
Currently, even China, the US, Japan, the European Union, ... have admitted Bitcoin. While admissions vary by country, that also indicates that Bitcoin won.
Paypal, Visa, Goldman Sachs Bank, major investment funds have accepted Bitcoin and cryptocurrency after years of controversy.
So Bitcoin will last forever until another technology replaces it.

I don't know if bitcoin will stay forever, but all I know is that it will be with us for many more years. I don't think it will disappear immediately when it has just become more popular. The limited number of bitcoins means that some of its features will of course come to an end someday. but it is certain that he will stay with us for many years.

I like to read your comments on the uncertainty whether bitcoin will last or not. Because it is not my fear. IMO as the years have passed and we see how bitcoin gains the trust of investors and ordinary people like me and anyone else. I see that bitcoin will prevail among us because it does not belong to the governments. Decentralization is winning and showing that we can agree to seek a common benefit.

Bitcoin will persist endlessly, whether bitcoin is used for transactions, payments or any other purpose or not, once nodes and blockchain are formed, it cannot be broken.  more than 12 years of formation, it is not born of creation, It is a great technology, making dreams come true.  As all of us here love bitcoin as our subconscious is, the government will not be able to stop it, even if the CBDC is formed.  They cannot oppress and blame citizens to stop using bitcoin.  That is inherently freedom.

You don't know if that is the case and you will never find out because you will die. The only way you find out is if Bitcoin becomes irrelevant before you die and I am sure there is chance that could happen. Do you know how we transfer and secure data in 30 or 40 years from now? I have no idea at all. It could be anything that we now can't even think of.
It is uncertain, either the market will collapse or it still exists. Well, it is to know that the market competition went strong, we even don't know that 10-20 years from now there is another technology will exist that might replaces the digital world. That is something like that. And that word INFINITY never exists to anyone. So, while we still have Bitcoin right now, it is the moment that we have to enjoy with it.

If I had heard this Post in 2018, I would definitely have agreed with you. But look at the situation of Bitcoin today, big and famous companies, different governments, famous people, city infrastructure, etc. Everyone is asking for Bitcoin are.
Bitcoin may seemingly face opposition from the government, but in 2030 we will see how all these governments that oppose bitcoin will cope with bitcoin.
Do you know the point, I don't really understand the concept you deriving at, so make it official to everyone understanding, Bitcoin is something we use everyday currently have of the population in the world is using Bitcoin and they have seen cryptocurrency as a major factor to generate income so through the observation I think Bitcoin can not be eliminated just like that, it will last till infinity no matter the rate government attacks cryptocurrency.

Way back years ago, the people thinks that the bitcoin will never be last for almost 5 years but what they are thinking is wrong because as we can see today, bitcoin is almost 10years old right now. If the people thinks that the bitcoin will never be last until infinity just because the government doesn't like it then they are wrong because although the government doesn't like the bitcoin still many people are patronizing bitcoin due to it's fastest and secured anonymous transactions.

I believed that bitcoin will not last because of government policy is against bitcoin and many people is seeing bitcoin as a scam, so with such points I don't think bitcoin will stay till 2030, and if bitcoin stay till then that means it will stay till further notice.
Please am not here to criticised cryptocurrency but from the attacks government attacks crypto I think such will come in reality.

I don't think so, BTC or Cryptocurrency as a whole manage to hold for more than a decade and still growing until now. Maybe the government will try to adapt the cashless payment system which will affect the economy of BTC in the near future but it wont be enough to take down BTC for a lifetime.

Bitcoin will last I think as long as the internet would last. I might have said before that it might last a few thousand years before, but now I might change that and tell my opinion that Bitcoin will last as long as the internet will. In case there is no internet then these hard drives that might have the blockchain might be the reservoirs of the coins and the whole process can be resuscitated once another civilization or maybe species decided to recreate the internet again in the far distant future.

2030 is under 8 years from now. Infinity is way more than 8 years.

I Think it will be around in 2030.

But Infinity no and we are not going here that long.

We never know what is the far future of Bitcoin.  I am a firm believer that the only permanent in this world is change so there is always a possibility that Bitcoin can last long but not in infinite way.  Code can last forever since it is a piece of data if that is the case then it will last till infinity but if you are talking about the market then it won't.  It may exist hundred to thousand of years but one day it will stop to trade in the market just like the ancient coins used by our ancestors.

everyone will not know what bitcoin will be in the future, but I am quite confident that currently bitcoin can last a long time, even though out there some or some countries oppose its presence, even there are government efforts to provide taxes for its users. At least with the current bitcoin trend, what benefits are there, in the future I'm sure there will be a system like this that is much better than bitcoin.

Who knows Huh?
Because governments are against it but numerous people are in acceptance of it. If the government perpetually shiftings in its favor, it is probable to keep up infinite. And since infinity indicates that there is no verge to it, it would not be reasonable to let out that bitcoin will last. Its stance may vanish for any intention.

In an ideal world, governments should serve the people. If people do see the value in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies they should find a way to implement it alongside or as a replacement for the centralized fiat money.  I'm sure that massive protests will be organised around the world if big governments ban it especially now, that the level of institutional adoption is getting traction and blue chip companies like Tesla start accepting it.

The more appropriate question is: why wouldn't bitcoin last for infinity? After all it is the most evolved form of currency we possess as a humanity.

Bitcoin will never last for inifinity. Even planets/stars will have its end. Then a blackhole will form after the death of a massive star. Also there's even a theory that black holes evaporate under Hawking radiation, a solar mass black hole will evaporate over 10^64 years. Even blackhole will never last for infinity.

Not many pay much attention to bitcoin including me in its early days. Advancement in technologies are rarely accepted in the start. Bitcoin has not only successfully survived its first decade but also gained a huge value. I am 100% sure that bitcoin will be there till 2140 when last bitcoin will be mined. However, we must remember that technology is constantly evolving, so scientists can surprise us at any time and create Bitcoin 2.0
