Now that it's been proven there are many other alternatives to Bitcoin which have advantages such as quicker transactions, smaller fees, and higher mining profitability, I don't see a reason to think Bitcoin will get to $10,000.

Will the price of Bitcoin still go up? It seems so outdated when compared to its competitors.

You realize you're saying this as Bitcoin is just coming off fresh all-time highs, right? Here's the thing. Even if we entertain this talk about superior altcoins, price can diverge from fundamentals. And they can stay diverged. What we have right now is hype, and quite a lot of it. So even if there are superior alternatives to BTC, the rocket will continue, for now.

Bitcoin remained the no.1 cryptocurrency dor a long period of time. One of the reasons is that it has a bigger community compared to other cryptocurrency that maes it demand higher than other cryptos. And since the price of Bitcoin increased after the fork last august that made Bitcoin to go skyrocket and also, it is issued thatthere will be another fork for the month of november. Imagine how will it affect the Bitcoin's value. So in short, it will still rise as time passes by.

Bitcoin is real of its kind and no other alt coin can compete its market that easily. Bitcoin is having bigger customer base as compared to other coins. People have set up different analogy for using alt coin, most of us think that alt coin is just a way to make more money and hence these coins are just used to pump and dump their values for earning money. There is nothing much that can be seen in them. On the other hands bitcoin is used as real life application as well as to develop the projects based on ICO funds. This leads to Rea investment into bitcoin rather than pump and dumps. So I guess bitcoin will go up and it is for sure as bitcoin is improving day by day and investors are getting engaged on large scale.

Maybe the reason its because bitcoin was the first cripto coin, and all people know it, and it has popularity
But i think, in the future, the other altcoin can go up too

people in out there know bitcoin more than other coins so they will thinking that ethereum is bitcoin, dogecoin is also bitcoin. but they are wrong and i think they should know first about this. but i am optimist that bitcoin can be still go up in the future and people will know that beside bitcoin, there is another coins which can be traded or just for keep and waiting the right time to sell.

Bitcoin will probably still go up. Due to limited supply and fewer numbers because many users who lost access because of forgotten passwords, died, files deleted by accident. While out there are many top business people who buy this bitcoin in very large quantities.

all of those advantages come at a cost. sometimes that cost is very high too. and having the ability doesn't mean you can use it. and this has been proven multiple times with multiple different altcoins throughout time. they say they can handle X number of transctions fast and smooth but when they reach 40% of that X they fail miserably!

you can search and see what happened to ethereum recently when it was unable to handle a simple surge of transactions and when all exchanges were forced to suspend all deposits and withdrawals for over a week.

so yeah, it doesn't matter when alts say they have "quicker transactions, smaller fees,..." what matters is that can they really do it. Smiley
Yes I agree all the things op wrote in praise of altcoins which he thinks can outdo bitcoin and take it's position soon though sound good but the reality has something different to say and that is once all of these altcoins reach the level of acceptance which only bitcoin enjoys at the moment, altcoins will fail to deliver too and it has happened already in the past. Bitcoin is still in more advantageous position than altcoins as bitcoin is still every crypto investors first choice and has a huge support and therefore there's nothing which can stop bitcoin.

I think it can. It will take years to reach $10k depends on the supply and demand. And even if it won't reach to that price I'm hoping that the market be healthy enough to sustain its supply.

You should see bitcoin from long term side which means bitcoin will always increase every year, if you are glued on short term then you will be very confused because that's the fluctuation that exists, fluctuation in trading is needed because if bitcoin move stagnant and never down will be disaster in the future.

I really do not see any alt coin that is better than bitcoin to do a deal, yes there are coins which have quicker transactions and smaller fees ,take for example doge coin, they are much faster and have a very small fees, but do you consider that as a positive thing with the number of coins available, apart from bitcoin the rest of the coins are trying to make it better and they will have some flaws when a huge surge of users start using it,we do not know about it now,as other user pointed out, take a look at ETH and what happened when they were not able to transact normally with the surge in users.

But you still need bitcoin to trade those other coins and they can not survive unless and until bitcoin is running heathy. To be honest bitcoin can not be dumped for the reasons you have mentioned here. When something is already on the optimum level it gets harder to loose that asset and people then keep trading that asset more as compared to other. So there will be start of “chain of investment” meaning it will keep getting more and more investment and the value will keep rising ultimately.

I don’t think just having advantage of quicker transaction and cheapness will get people attention to other coins. Bitcoin is still traded highest market capitalism and it will be non stoppable trade. Lets hope it stays that way only.

No one can successfully predict the market right now, anything could happen. Bitcoin can survive and grow exponentially, Bitcoin Cash can surpass it and then grow much higher... They can both coexist with similar prices, or one much higher... There are so many different possible scenarios that i'd recommend either holding both as some kind of hedge against any outcome, or holding neither and wait out the storm (keep your investment in alts/eth/etc)

I agree with you market is unpredictable specially when you talk about bitcoin because its rate depend on users supply or demand in world.  Grin.

Yes, of course. $ 10000? Of course, I can. But not in the near future, maybe 2-3 will come when bitcoin has begun to be accepted by everyone in the world. First, people will start doing a lot of transactions using bitcoin, and then the government will see it be an advantage. With the legality of bitcoin in a country, I think it will also affect the price (I mean the price will continue to increase, although unstable).

Bitcoin was a first of his kind. It is like a trademark today, you know. Just look at all these attempts to save BTC from extinction - Segwit2x activation, hardfork split, all these crutches. It`s hard to imagine for me that in the foreseeable future it would not go up. 10 000 not a limit, just one more level to cross.
