Now that it's been proven there are many other alternatives to Bitcoin which have advantages such as quicker transactions, smaller fees, and higher mining profitability, I don't see a reason to think Bitcoin will get to $10,000.

Will the price of Bitcoin still go up? It seems so outdated when compared to its competitors.

Yes, definitely. Bitcoin has the potential to reach the 10k milestone. As you can see that it's already crossed 4k and the price is stable. There is a huge demand for the bitcoins as it is getting popular day by day. As there is high demand and limited supply; ultimately the price of the bitcoins will be increased in the long run.

In my opinion, I think bitcoin already proved that it has the potential to reach more than $10 000 by the end of this year. Since the beginning of this year, the value of bitcoin was always making its way up, reaching new all time highs, no other coin has achieved that. Early this year when the value of bitcoin was still around $900, I never thought that it would reach $4000 this quick, but it happened. Anything is possible within this industry.

Many? What many alternatives? Seriously, can you list them? I don't think there are many alternatives to bitcoin.

As for the price, it's simple supply and demand...if demand continues to increase (while supply growth slows) the price will continue to rise.

Agree with you, even if it takes some time to reach that price. But, bitcoin prices still allow for high rise. Who would have thought the bitcoin price could reach $ 4000 in a short time, even gold could not do that.

I cant see the long road ahead. Real talk.
Of course bitcoin is behind because alts is created in a mode advanced way like for example Nokia phone to smartphone nowadays. We all know the traffic in transaction ad the fees are pretty high in BTc place, well etherium are much more cheaper.
The birth of Bitcoin cash on the first of august made me think how long is bitcoin gonna be when the competition is on fire and there are so many advantages that alts can offer. Bitcoins security is superb as ever and we all know that. The prices is back and fourth and the market sometimes dont know where they are turning into. All we have is questions and I think lets give it more time.
And yes I tgink bitcoin can go up to 10 thousand dollars.

Agreed, there are lots of coins as of now on which I has a great feature compared to bitcoin but the basic thing on which Bitcoin do have still remains strong on which the community still love to engage with it. Altcoins would really just remain as an alternative and theres no chance that they can surpass bitcoin speaking of mass adoption but well we cant say such thing because no one really knows on whats ahead.

Outdated is the key word you mentioned here.  To me BCH wants to stay the path of the outdated coin with its only key improvement of increasing block size.  I would like to see how they would ever plan to handle mass adoption.  Are we going to be talking GB blocks by then?  Bitcoin needs innovation such as lightening network to stay ahead of the game or else an altcoin will eventually take its place.  BTC is on the right path whereas BCH is just placing a bandaid on a problem that they will have to circle around to fix again and again if the team stays that path.  I think both coins can coexist but the true Bitcoin is Core err...Segwit2X...we'll have to go another round in November, but after that the future looks very bright.

yes, but no one can say if bitcoin can go up or not, btc is much volatile and one day it can go down $200, and one day it can pump to $4k, so no one can predict it.
by the way, i predict that bitcoin will come to $5k at the end of august. if it does not, it will reach that amount in the middle of september.

No one can successfully predict the market right now, anything could happen. Bitcoin can survive and grow exponentially, Bitcoin Cash can surpass it and then grow much higher... They can both coexist with similar prices, or one much higher... There are so many different possible scenarios that i'd recommend either holding both as some kind of hedge against any outcome, or holding neither and wait out the storm (keep your investment in alts/eth/etc)

all of those advantages come at a cost. sometimes that cost is very high too. and having the ability doesn't mean you can use it. and this has been proven multiple times with multiple different altcoins throughout time. they say they can handle X number of transctions fast and smooth but when they reach 40% of that X they fail miserably!

you can search and see what happened to ethereum recently when it was unable to handle a simple surge of transactions and when all exchanges were forced to suspend all deposits and withdrawals for over a week.

so yeah, it doesn't matter when alts say they have "quicker transactions, smaller fees,..." what matters is that can they really do it. Smiley
