In my own opinion ethereum can't match the bitcoin in terms of price because bitcoin is only limited to 21 million coins so, the price will inflate due limited supply unlike the ethereum has unlimited supply so, over time the value will decrease constantly as more ether issued but in terms of market cap ether can overtake bitcoin due to the same reason but according to coinmarketcap.com bitcoin's dominance is 61%, 15% higher than May 2017 dominance which is 46% which means more people are investing to bitcoin. for now would say bitcoin is still no.1
I don't think it really needs to match Bitcoin, simply it is easier for it to operate with less digits after the , . Besides there is an unlimited supply which is a major factor for the lower price.
I think it it really possible! Just see how many ICO are going on ethereum? Unbeliavable! So one day it will rise at least to 1000$.

A lot of icos mean if the ethereum already succeed to build the friendly platform and anyone be able to use it right now, just like there are so many big companies was joining on the EEA. That means if the ethereum developer was serious to develop the ethereum infrastructure and especially in the blockchain development. Just be patient!
We can see the more company that already joined in the EEA aim to build the future sidechain on the ethereum environtment. $1000 not only a dream.
I think that Eth has the potential to grow even more in terms of market capitalization. In terms of it's price - highly unlikely. It has an unlimited supply which mean constant devaluation due to more and more being issued.

I don't think so, because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency to come, and it has been developed and harness and since it has a market cap that makes it price increase it's the advantage of bitcoin over ethereum but it's only based on my own opinion. Who knows? maybe someday?
Eth can not compete with bitcoin, because bitcoin is still becoming popular for now.

Ethereum is rock solid coin and established its power after bitcoin and main rival of btc but it is a very long journey for eth to match bitcoin. It is the 2nd largest market cap but huge gap in both marketcap and it cannot be equalized in near future.
Ethereum platform and ether is definitely a formidable coin for bitcoin. Ethereum is doing all that bitcoin is doing and more. I forsee ethereum rally right after this bitcoin rally and future fork.

You are still quite young to crypto world but you have noticed ETH. But to be frank, it will not match or with my understanding on your question of replacing bitcoin to the top it is not going to happen. Maybe if ETH will do also a lot of hard forks then it can get more investors to put their funds to ETH and will increase its demand.

BItcoin is a father of ethereum , ethereum can never match bitcoin but although ethereum has powerful network, after fork its transactions are done under seconds so fairly eth will go upto 1000 dollars in next 5 months. Investement point of view, you can invest to get thrice the profit.

. I totally agree with you. Maybe the devs will improve each coins features. But they can't match each other.
i think, it can't bacause of unlimited ETH supply coin with great features the total cap is major price mover for BTC. BTC has a high Value coin, but low amount of coins supply, different from ETH has a low value of coin, but lots of coins supply.

It may take a lot of struggles for ETH to match the value/reputation of BTC but as the second highest I can say that it will be next successor of BTC. However, it will not happen sooner because as of this writing the value of BTC is going up when I saw it yesterday it was just 6.9k but now it is like 7.2k compare to ETH wherein there's a slow movement of value but still I have my FAITH in ETH.
Its a different thing so dont have to match. Both are very good for the future!
I'm too confused of these people trying and always comparing bitcoin and eth as it's always obvious how far bitcoin from eth to its all aspects. Like don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of eth but my hopes are always in bitcoin. Been holding these two and always gives me profit so I don't wanna choose.
We all know eth is making its own name in crypto world but the near fact that eth will always be a shadow of bitcoin and that will never change.
Both grows upon its own way. Eth has started to grow with good potential from the beginning of the year, but the growth didn't continue to take it reach a bigger price. I believe the price might continue to grow in a similar manner giving a competence with its gradual growth to bitcoin rather than pumping big in a short.
Its a different thing so dont have to match. Both are very good for the future!
i don't think that ethereum will match the btc although its possible to be increase. there will be many years before the price is increase because i think whatever happen with altcoin price it is depend with bitcoin price so if bitcoin price is increase then altcoin will be fall. with so many ico based with ethereum, i think the price will increase.
