Anything can happen but it is not possible in near future as their is huge gap in both currencies, maybe it will possible in long run as no one can predict the future of altcoins because of huge volatility in this market.

ETH can't match BTC in terms of coin value because of differences in supply, however thanks to it utility it's just a matter of time it will take over BTC's place as a market cap leader.

I strongly believe this is going to happen in 2018, especially after all these forks that are killing BTC.

I believe that only ETH has the potential to approach bitcoin, because the best altcoin in my opinion is ETH, and also its users continue to grow, but today the price of ETH is declining as it affects the price of bitcoin.

I'm in this crypto world about two months, I've been observing the power of ETH!

I dont think that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin. This will never happen, because Bitcoin is too strong and it already grabbed to much attention!

I'm in this crypto world about two months, I've been observing the power of ETH!

Most probably never. For one reason BTC is capped and the other is not. For another and probably more importantly bitcoin has had several years of first mover advantage and this is really tough to undue. Either Ethereum

must have insane breakthrough never seen before or BTC must bust in a major way, neither of which I envision happening.

Is it possible that in the future they cut the limit of supply of Ethereum? Somehow, can they stop the mining?

It's impossible to mine Ethereum infinitely. The difficulty of Ethereum will shoot up exponentially. Next year there'll be a difficulty bomb. From that point on there will be far less new Ether created. Eventually the supply will grow by almost 0 a year.

There are more Bitcoin miners today but someday perhaps ETH will have more miners and investors as well. If only big whales will try to manipulate ETH to raise the value like what Bitcoin happened in the last a couple of years.

It will be profitable to mine ETH until they release Casper and ETH goes to POS. But the supply will never go to 0 per year as the people staking ETH will earn at least 5%.

ETH is the next high valued Cryptocurrency next to Bitcoin and soon will become as high valued as Bitcoin but the figure are way too far but there are possibilities because Bitcoin is very hard to earn today then ETH will have the best option for new investors that found good fortune through Cryptocurrency investments.
In other terms, ETH can match Bitcoin side by side with blockchain structures and ETH even offers more flexibility, faster transaction and feature rich.

i dont think so,, Bitcoin not gonna match with ETH

we know how power bitcoin is but eth is done it also but in some other way so i believe that ethereum really have a future but it is always regard in all situation that can posible happen, we can predict as long as we want but we dont have any assurance on it.

BTC is a high cost ineffective database, if people notice what BTC is for real then will invest to Ethereum which does a real job to the network and maybe then Ethereum get a better price than Bitcoin

Nope, the supply discrepancy alone would do it, but the fact that btc is king coin it's pretty much always going to be in the no#1 spot imo

It could take time before ETH match BTC, though I personally think not in the next 5 years. By comparing the entry price of both ETH and BTC to their 1st year,
BTC (July 2010) $ 0.06 to (July 2011) 13.71, based on my calculation that is 22750% increase while  ETH (Aug 2015) $2.83 to (Aug 2016) $11.18 and that is 295%. What's impressive is the increase in value of ETH from January - present, it has 3600% while BTC from duration has 700%. Yes ETH maybe the silver next to bitcoin but cannot catch up anytime soon.

Well, there are many times in our Group Chat talking about Ethereum. And Ethereum is a great coin yes. And it might moon soon. Probably it might rise after the dump of btc or when it will become stabilize.

Yes of course. But not yet today. Maybe more years, lets just wait. Ethereum is getting hotter. I believe in ethereum. Most of ICO nowadays are based in ethereum, that is also good factor.

i dont think ethereum can be able to have a chance to be equal with bitcoin in at least 10 years, we all know eth has a powerful rise in last year making it become one of the most potential coin on the market, however more people still have a trend that want to own bitcoin more than eth due to its high price already. so Ethereum can hardly against bitcoin if bitcoin keep rising more and more.

Eth is nice, but Bitcoin will always be higher. It's sort of the gold standard for crypto.

ETH is going well but BTC is flying
The lights of both are eye catching

The only disadvantage for BTC, ETH has mining support.

You can't really compare these two, they are intended for two different things.
Bitcoin is intended for payments like you do in a shop and Ethereum was made for smart contracts.
Ethereum doesn't have a max total supply like Bitcoin does, and at the moment has 5 times more units in circulation.
So I think the price won't be comparable to Bitcoin either.
