$5000 is a lot of money (for me) if i be you i will make sure first i know what risk to make investment in bitcoin. And then i will decide to keep continue or not. If you ask people's suggestion, you will be more confused because you will only see people say buy or not only. But wouldn't tell you if you have possibility to lose your investment if bitcoin get dumped.

Never invest when the market is going up as what was happening till $8500. Always wait for the correction which takes place sooner or later. Buy at a strong support after it gets tested for sometime. Decide your entry. This is really crucial to trading. Another important factor is that you should plan your stop loss wisely. If you are in for long term, you can keep a bigger risk margin but a tighter stop loss would be a good idea in case of short term trading.

Everyone is allowed to trade Bitcoin, but since you're still a newbie I will advise you that you should not go day trading, that's not an easy work and even if you decide to go for it you will have to learn it first and practice with a little amount and see how it goes before throwing in big money. But, expecting your buying prices around $5k just showing your greediness. Everyone wants cheaper prices but only people who opted to buy bitcoins some 7 to 9 years back, go the real opportunity.

Or maybe it is better to wait for another drop, bitcoin price has recently recovered from its sudden drop from below $7k and it would be better to wait for that kind of drop again to gain maximum profit in the next bull run.
